BB Curve :: Connecting / Syncing 9360 With Desktop Software
Dec 29, 2011
I am having trouble connecting/syncing my Blackberry 9360 with the desktop software. After I select my phone from the list of devices an attempt is made to install all the needed drivers. 2 of 3 install automatically. The 3rd is 'not found'. I would imagine this is the problem. So far I have researched and attempted every possible fix I could find on the Internet, including manually selecting drivers as directed.Without this driver the desktop program does NOT SEE my device. Even so, I AM connected with my computer via bluetooth. I can force files to be be sent and/or received between my phone and computer but would really like the automatic ability to have everything synced without the need to plug in a cable.
My phone just wont connect to desktop, I have the phone registered wiith it, and it shows up the name of my phone and that its connecting, but that stays on forever and doesnt actually connect..
My phone asks me where i want to charge, Usb or media sync. and my computer asks if i want to open the files but really all i want to do is use desktop manager. Ive tried the Device manager method, ive uninstalled and reinstalled i dont know what to do?
I connected my blackberry curve 9360 to my computer via blackberry desktop software for the first time today and it asked if I wanted to update my device.
I clicked yes, then it started the first stage of updating and it has frozen backing up 'Database: Options (3 of 21 items)'
Is there a way to unfreeze it or would it be safe to eject my phone and try again?
I have a Curve 8330 and cannot get the Desktop Manager to connect with it. This was a frequent problem for a long time until the latest DM upgrade. Suddenly, now the same thing is happening. DM just shows "connecting" but no connection takes place. I have uninstalled then downloaded and reinstalled v6 but all in fain.
I got into my car at 4pm today and my phone went to a white screen which is saying connecting to desktop and has not changed since. I could only make a phone call using my bluetooth in the car, I have tried switching on and off and no change.
Periodically my Curve 3G will display a white screen with the message Connecting to Desktop. This can happen, for example, when I unlock my phone, or connect to a power supply. There is no way of removing the message apart from disconnecting the battery, and then rebooting. The phone cannot be used whilst it is displaying this message.
My Blackberry Curve 9300 regularly reverts to a screen saying 'connecting to desktop'. The phone then 'freezes' on that screen and I cannot do anything and the only solution is to open the back, remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot. This seems to do the trick but it's happening quite frequently which is a major nuisance, particularly since the reboot process takes such an age. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?
For some reason my phone turns on, and then the screen showing "Blackberry" with the loading bar appears, but it gets about 3 quarters of the way then flashes off then starts to repeat the same process. I am lost on what to do, even after reading several solutions that haven't worked! Also when I plug it into my computer and open Blackberry desktop software, it recognises the phone but won't connect to it!

I've got a BB9700, Bold 2.At home, Outlook, it syncs happily. At work, with Lotus Notes, it crashed when "updating the devide calendar". There was no issue a few months ago doing exactly the same thing.I'm not sure if it's related, but for some stupid reason I installed Facebook and accidently got the calendar to sync with facebook. I have now removed all entries for the Facebook calendar and al the Service book for Facebook calendar, so it now doesn't appear anywhere.
Facebook is blocked by works firewall, so I therefore assumed that was the problem, hence deleting all my calendar entries associated to Facebook.I've tried syncing with both Bluetooth and the cable.
I recently readded the newest version of Desktop Manager and am using the Blackberry Curve 3G. I have Windows Vista operating system and every time I try to use Intellisync to sync my Yahoo Address book with the device the program stops working. What am I doing wrong? I've tried to uninstall Desktop Manager and reinstall and it keeps happening.
I have a 9700 (v5.0.0.586) and I run Windows 7 (64-bit) Desktop Manager has the following heading at the top of the screen: Disconnected - BlackBerry Desktop Manager
It has an info window that says "Before you begin, verify that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer"
Windows appears to see the device as in the BlackBerry device manager properties I can see that USB-Blackberry 9700 is connected.
Typically, as these things seem to happen, one day everything's fine & the next it's not! My Bold 9700 will no longer connect to the Desktop Manager, but worked fine yesterday. Having run the Troubleshooter, I'm being told "Rim.Desktop is Incompatible".
How can i upgrade my bold OS without connecting to desktop manager. As per my desktop manager there is no upgrade available, but my phone carrier launced an upgraded module in UK, but that's not launched in India yet. how can i upgrade my phone which is in india with the module launched by Vodafone in U.K
my blackberry bold 9000 is not working.. i mean 2 days before it suddenly reboot and after that it wont start. its red light flash for 30 second then its tried to loading but in 10 seconds it reboots again and it is not starting. even when i tried to connect it with pc, it is not connecting with desktop manager. i am worried. i searched for all solutions but not getting any usefull information.
I installed the Blackberry desk top software on one computrer and have no problem syncing and updating, but when I installed the software on another computer it does not detect the connected Blackberry. USB is OK because Blackberry charges. What am I missing?
I have recently updated my blackberry software to version 6.0 Bundle 2949 and also my desktop software to 7.0.043(Bundle 44). The problem is that i cannot sync my phone with my PC anymore. It gets stuck on preparing sync preview.Would even be willing to revert to old versions of software and desktop.
Okay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.
Ive searched and havent really found a good answer to my problem, but when i connect my blackberry through the USB port, my computer and DM are not finding that its connected. Ive tried re-installing DM, re-starting my computer, re-booting my phone and none of these have worked. Is there something else that I am missing?
I have a BB9900 running device software 7.0. I also have BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 installed. I run Windows 7. I am trying to connect my computer to my BB using bluetooth so I can sync wirelessly. Bluetooth is enabled on my 9900 and my computer is a "paired device". However when I use the Desktop software and try to "add a bluetooth enable device" it can't find my phone. Also when I go through Devices and Printers on my computer I can see the phone (bluetooth is enabled on the computer) although there is a driver problem identified that windows can't fix.
I have been syncing just fine for months. Now all of the sudden when I plug in my phone to sync and backup, it doesn't do anything. It doesn't even try to detect my device. The only way I can make it work is to uninstall and reinstall the desktop program. But I'm sick of having to do that everytime I need to sync my phone.
I have the Torch 9800 and I'm running Wndows XP with the most recent version of Desktop manager.Up until two weeks ago my phone and computer communicated beautifully, syncing, back-ups, file sharing, everything. But last week my computer and phone seemed to fail to see each other and now nothing is happening when I plug my phone in. The phone goes to the 'clock' screen as if it's plugged into a charger and doesn't display a connection issue on it's end, but the computer does not show that anything has been connected. So far I have:
1) Checked the USB connection to the comptuter 2) Tried different USB ports 3) Tried a different USB cable 4) Wiped and re-installed Desktop manager on my computer
I'm at a loss on how to get my computer and phone talking to each other again.
I am trying to connect with desktop software for my blackberry torch 9800 and it asks me password for connection. I am using same unlocking password which I use for my bb but for desktop software it shows incorrect...
I was hoping one of you fine lads could fix my problem. I currently have a blackberry curve 8320 gold with tmobile. In the past i have used microsoft office to sync my contacts and calendar with my phone but just recently it will not sync my calendar. It only syncs my contacts. Its quite frusturating. Right now I have a Dell vostro 1510 running Windows 7 64 bit with microsoft office 2007.
My outlook calendar will not sync with the phone. At one time it would. When i run a sync from desktop manager everything else in outlook is sync but the calendar. It never shows up. I tried the blackberry technical search but had no success.
My desktop calendar and BB Torch quit syncing, suddenly. The BB Software comes up on the desktop and the "connecting wheel" starts spinning-- and the image of both devices comes up on the phone-- but no connection is made.
