View 1 RepliesI have a Curve 8330 and cannot get the Desktop Manager to connect with it. This was a frequent problem for a long time until the latest DM upgrade. Suddenly, now the same thing is happening. DM just shows "connecting" but no connection takes place. I have uninstalled then downloaded and reinstalled v6 but all in fain.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got into my car at 4pm today and my phone went to a white screen which is saying connecting to desktop and has not changed since. I could only make a phone call using my bluetooth in the car, I have tried switching on and off and no change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPeriodically my Curve 3G will display a white screen with the message Connecting to Desktop. This can happen, for example, when I unlock my phone, or connect to a power supply. There is no way of removing the message apart from disconnecting the battery, and then rebooting. The phone cannot be used whilst it is displaying this message.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble connecting/syncing my Blackberry 9360 with the desktop software. After I select my phone from the list of devices an attempt is made to install all the needed drivers. 2 of 3 install automatically. The 3rd is 'not found'. I would imagine this is the problem. So far I have researched and attempted every possible fix I could find on the Internet, including manually selecting drivers as directed.Without this driver the desktop program does NOT SEE my device. Even so, I AM connected with my computer via bluetooth. I can force files to be be sent and/or received between my phone and computer but would really like the automatic ability to have everything synced without the need to plug in a cable.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 9300 regularly reverts to a screen saying 'connecting to desktop'. The phone then 'freezes' on that screen and I cannot do anything and the only solution is to open the back, remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot. This seems to do the trick but it's happening quite frequently which is a major nuisance, particularly since the reboot process takes such an age. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my phone turns on, and then the screen showing "Blackberry" with the loading bar appears, but it gets about 3 quarters of the way then flashes off then starts to repeat the same process. I am lost on what to do, even after reading several solutions that haven't worked! Also when I plug it into my computer and open Blackberry desktop software, it recognises the phone but won't connect to it!

I cannot get DM to see the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the Blackberry desk top software on one computrer and have no problem syncing and updating, but when I installed the software on another computer it does not detect the connected Blackberry. USB is OK because Blackberry charges. What am I missing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.
Ive searched and havent really found a good answer to my problem, but when i connect my blackberry through the USB port, my computer and DM are not finding that its connected. Ive tried re-installing DM, re-starting my computer, re-booting my phone and none of these have worked. Is there something else that I am missing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a BB9900 running device software 7.0. I also have BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 installed. I run Windows 7. I am trying to connect my computer to my BB using bluetooth so I can sync wirelessly. Bluetooth is enabled on my 9900 and my computer is a "paired device". However when I use the Desktop software and try to "add a bluetooth enable device" it can't find my phone. Also when I go through Devices and Printers on my computer I can see the phone (bluetooth is enabled on the computer) although there is a driver problem identified that windows can't fix.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been syncing just fine for months. Now all of the sudden when I plug in my phone to sync and backup, it doesn't do anything. It doesn't even try to detect my device. The only way I can make it work is to uninstall and reinstall the desktop program. But I'm sick of having to do that everytime I need to sync my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Torch 9800 and I'm running Wndows XP with the most recent version of Desktop manager.Up until two weeks ago my phone and computer communicated beautifully, syncing, back-ups, file sharing, everything. But last week my computer and phone seemed to fail to see each other and now nothing is happening when I plug my phone in. The phone goes to the 'clock' screen as if it's plugged into a charger and doesn't display a connection issue on it's end, but the computer does not show that anything has been connected. So far I have:
1) Checked the USB connection to the comptuter
2) Tried different USB ports
3) Tried a different USB cable
4) Wiped and re-installed Desktop manager on my computer
I'm at a loss on how to get my computer and phone talking to each other again.
I am trying to connect with desktop software for my blackberry torch 9800 and it asks me password for connection. I am using same unlocking password which I use for my bb but for desktop software it shows incorrect...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista with Black Berry Device Manager 5.0.1.11 and BBDevMgr 4.1.0.12. I am using the latest Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.
I can connect once and synch several times with my Blackberry Bold 9000. But as soon as I disconnect once, the Device Manager does not connect anymore when trying again.
I do recognice in the Bluetooth status window - both on the BB and Vista - that there is a short connection and breaks again. That repeats all the time.
If I try to search again for the BB, it is not found anymore. It is still registered in the Bluetooth devices but the Device Manager does not find it anymore.
Deleting the entry in the the Bluetooth device section does not help. I do have to do a reset (battery out or the alt-shift-del key) then I can reconnect once again.
Someone does have the same problem?
I am quite sure that the problem is in the Device Manager (not the Desktop Manager) - but it can also be a device software and / or hardware problem.
I am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
Trying to transfer pictures from device to desktop pictures but not connecting.seems i was able to back up.downloaded new software to desktop while BB was connected vis USA to computer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am needing to upgrade to the OS v.5 but my Storm is not connecting to Desktop Manager. I can see that it's connected to my laptop by checking under My Computer. I've repeatedly done a hard reset for my Storm and also uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop software, restarted my laptop. I also disabled Norton and Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I also decided to do a "wipe handheld" which SORTA worked but doesn't work. Desktop Manager recognizes the Storm connection but still remains disconnected and the phone continues to flash the screen "Connecting to desktop" and goes away. The last time my Storm was able to connect to the Desktop software was in August of 2009 when I was able to backup my data. Now, not only can I upgrade my OS, I can't restore my data because for some reason the phone and Desktop manager will not maintain a connection. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
