- backup
- wipe handheld
- replace policy.bin file
- restore
The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want. However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?
I was just forced on BES and now my BB must be "unlocked" with a password. I am sure there has been discussed before, but it someone knows of a way to remove the password-protection, which was placed on my device when activited with BES,

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust when I think the E75 cannot get any worse (it has slightly worse reception than 2 tin cans and a bit of wet string!!), Nokia send me a OS upgrade that will "result in improved performance"! Tragically, it continuously comes up with the great message "Installation failed due to lost connectivity; do not disconnect USB connection during installation"! Now, whilst I am not the sharpest tool in the shed,even I can see that disconnecting the cable would not be condusive to a successful software upgrade, so of course I am not doing that! I am about to wind the clock back over 10 years and resort to my trusty 6150.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have problems with upgrading my BB 9700 to new ver. OS6. I've download fresh DM and new OS .723. I've installed everything, turn off internet connection also turn off mass storage in BB, connect BB to computer and run DM, and nothing happened. DM can't find new OS. Vendor file was deleted before I run DM. So I've tried use app loader but app loader cant see OS too!
When I choose right OS by add app, it gives me that the OS is not compatible to my BB. So I download new one, but the problem still appear. I have problem with upgrade os 5 to 6 too. Wiped BB and system can't find new OS. Fortunately DM find the OS by it self in internet (6...668). I need to upgrade it because I have only 1 language in my phone and no apps. I cant load it by app loader because app loader can see it as right to mu BB.
iv downloaded the official 5.0.0.545 update from vodafone but when i upgraded the phone my software was 5.0.0.423! it went through the whole upgrade process but isnt the one i downloaded!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had created a group in BBM long time back and I was the administrator. Now it contains 23 members and I wanted to remove one of the members from it. But I see that I am not the administrator any more and if I need to make myself an administrator; I need to enter a password. I have never created an admin password for the group. Usually whoever is the administrator there should be a 'key' symbol next to the member's name in the list of the group. But none has such a 'key' picture next to his name. Is there any way that I can reset or recover the admin password
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFirstly, I'm running BDM 6.0 on a Windows 7 laptop.I decided to upgrade my 9700 to the leaked .862 OS since I have been reading so many good things about it and am having an issue. This is the first upgrade I've done on this device which was running .602.Everything was working fine until just after the reboot, at which time I get the AT&T "World Phone" splash screen. It's been sitting there for about 45 minutes now and is not proceeding past this point. BDM still says "Connecting to device (this may take up to 30 minutes)".I am relatively new to the BB world and I thought the upgrade should be a snap.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought an used BB 9900 Bold that came with IT policy. I thought I'd upgrade the OS to 7.1 bundle 1149 and it will return to factory settings removing the IT policy. But it did not remove the IT policy now I even can't access BBM World Apps. Any ideas how to remove this IT policy that is restricting me from BBM Apps. I tried crackutil and it does not recognize OS 7.1 so basically I am stuck with the 9900 and can's even use.

I'm on windows 7 64 bit, so I have followed the instructions, including opening as administrator. After typing in the "loader.exe /resettofactory", the loader console window appears and a white cursor flashes for about 30 seconds or so, but nothing happens.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Bold 9900 yesterday and after setting up to my liking, contacts, apps etc. getting to know the unit and (after some time for a novice like me,) when I plugged the device into my desktop manager, it asked me for the password to which i entered my BB ID but it is not accepting it. This is the third time I re-enter all my information, set up the device and it locks me out for 10 tries again and again then erases all my information! Frustrating and time consuming! Any one have suggestions to remedy this situation??? This seems to happen when activate and I lock my device when in the holster. I have the unlock code to access the home screen to which. Neither this screen unlock code nor my BB ID password will unlock the unit afterwards and I have go through the 10 tries then I loose all my settings and information, need to reset emails, reenter contacts and so on.

Firstly our Administrator's (we only had one) blackberry was water damaged and so she had to get a new blackberry. So now we can't assign anyone to be the new administrator.I'm not sure if she fixed the water damaged phone or just threw it away I just know she got a new phone.
Secondly our message times don't correspond with our blackberry time i.e if I type a message at 11:02 it shows up as 2:02.
I'm guessing an e-mail account or something was taking over security settings?

His son told him he would need admin account to use iphone and sync with iTunes and my brother has asked me if this is true? I can't find the answer in searching the old posts. I'm sure the computer is a PC and probably either Vista or Win7 but do not know any details at this time.
