iv downloaded the official 5.0.0.545 update from vodafone but when i upgraded the phone my software was 5.0.0.423! it went through the whole upgrade process but isnt the one i downloaded!
Just bought BB bold 9700, but I don't know what is my BB OS? I was trying to search and I all found is platform 5.1.0.91. I have a few more questions but let me do that step by step. By the way HELLO everyone. I'm new here. Greetings from Chicago!
Mostly great phone/berry but the SMS bug (I too do not feel like editing my several hundred contacts to remove the "1" from everyone's phone number) and an email bug (red star for new email or message stays on even after message is read. have to open and close message folder a few times to get it to disappear) have me wanting an updated operating system.I've read the posts on how to do it - but it won't work for me. I've downloaded o/s from providers with updated systems. Deleted vendor file. Used loader to install to my device. Either it (a) shows "no new updates or software is available for your device" or sometimes it shows the apps and programs on my phone and asks what I want to add or load. But no new OS is available to add. Weird.
I've tried deleting all BBerry software off my computer before doing this and then starting fresh - but with the same result. I even tried wiping the OS off my berry before i started and it wouldn't load a new OS -- only could load the Telus OS.I have updated OS before and it's worked - but not this time for some reason.
I am new to Blackberry, so I was wondering how do I find out if I need to upgrade the system on my BB 9700 for Tmobile. I can't figure out where to look on my BB 9700 to see what is running now.
Can I install Blackberry 6 operating system in BOLD 9700? It now has 5.0.0.351. When I try to update through Desktop Software the installation stops with an error message "check internet connection"
So I started to update my BB 9700 tonight, since it hadn't been done in awhile. I followed the instructions including the "don't unplug the device if you ever want it to work again" segment.
All was going well until I got to step 10 of 12 (Loading Applications) It has now been trying to load applications for over 3 hours, with no advancement in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. My Desktop manager says it is disconnected, but I'm not sure how or when that happened. My screen is white with the computer and the BB and a pair of arrows, but nothing has happened for hours.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 on Rogers. I was wondering if there was an operating system 5.0 where I can download so I can upgrade my system. I am currently on 4.6
I received an apology message from Appworld that my Bold 9900 operating system is unsupported and some features may not be functional. How do I rectify it? My BB is on v. 7.1.0 bd. 648 carrier Etisalt Nigeria?
I have had my Blackberry 9700 for about 5 months. In the beginning I would get about three days out of my battery, with normal use. About a month ago I noticed the data symbol operating all the time (data in and data out) and my battery started lasting less than a day (even on days that it was hardly or never used). I took it back to Telstra (Australia) who sent it away and then provided me with a replacement (with no explanation of what was wrong with the first one.) Unfortunately the new one does exactly the same thing!
I have been on numerous websites looking for an answer to no avail. I have tried all the battery saving hints and check I leave nothing open. I have rebooted daily, still to no avail. I am on the brink of tossing it and going back to Nokia, which is a great shame as I had been really enjoying my Blackberry until now. The nature of my business means that I have to have a phone that is reliable and will work for more than 12 hours away from a power source.
I feel something is operating behind the scenes but I have added nothing. I haven't even put my email on this new one yet and I am a little tech challenged so I have loaded no new apps or anything, it is as new.
I received a pop up about a new operating system upgrade for my Torch. I did the upgrade as it told me to do, then connected to Blackberry Desktop Software as it said to do, but now am unsure what to do or if the operating upgrade has happened?
I have a 8310 and I have tried every way they are to reinstall the operating system. It will not reinstall. I have downloaded different ones and the original one. It always gets almost done and at a certain file it is like it restart the device and then that is it. It will not reconnect. the file is bb_immension or something like that. I have tried every tutorial out there. Or it sure seems like it. Will it reinstall without a sim card in it? I do not have a card to put in it at this time.
Since ICS is not performing well on the Ray, I would like to restore the "out-of-the-box-state". How do I do that? How do I remove ICS and put the original operating system back?
Why is there no discussion group for the iOS operating system? Granted that there are different flavors on the various hardware platforms but isn't there also a lot in common? Case in point - iTunes just suggested that I upgrade to iOS 5.1 on my iPhone 3GS. I am searching for relevant info. I cannot find any release notes specific to iOS 5.1?
I updated to 5.1 and than tried to downgrade back to 5.0.1. Now I have an iPhone4 without any operating system installed on it. I can go into DFU and Restore mode, but nothing else.
We have a big Problem with our Xperia Play R800i! Our operating system has been deleted and we donŽt know how to get into Clockworkmod Recovery System without an Operating System. In two weeks we are going to Hungary and we would like to use the mobile phone there so weŽd like to use the guarantee to repair the phone but it would take too long. So we hope that you describe us how too get our system back or get into CWM!
