Apr 19, 2010Recently got an 9700 Bold and i would like to transfer my contacts from an old 8310 via bluetooth.I've tried connecting the 2 devices and although they can 'find' each other and pair up, when i click connect it instantly pops up "connection to xxxxx failed" - both are discoverable, passcode is correct, trusted is set to yes. would appreciate any help you guys can give!

BB Bold :: Upgrading 9700 - DM Cannot Find New OS 6
Mar 23, 2012I have problems with upgrading my BB 9700 to new ver. OS6. I've download fresh DM and new OS .723. I've installed everything, turn off internet connection also turn off mass storage in BB, connect BB to computer and run DM, and nothing happened. DM can't find new OS. Vendor file was deleted before I run DM. So I've tried use app loader but app loader cant see OS too!
When I choose right OS by add app, it gives me that the OS is not compatible to my BB. So I download new one, but the problem still appear. I have problem with upgrade os 5 to 6 too. Wiped BB and system can't find new OS. Fortunately DM find the OS by it self in internet (6...668). I need to upgrade it because I have only 1 language in my phone and no apps. I cant load it by app loader because app loader can see it as right to mu BB.

Jan 13, 2010I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
BB Bold 9700 :: No Notifications For Visual Voice Mail On Upgrading / Phone Does Not Lock In Holster
Jun 28, 2010Just upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.

May 17, 2012I had a BB bold 9700, i backup all my files using desktop manager without specifying anything, now i got new bold 9790, i tried to restore the backup file using the desktop manager, after restoring, the backed SMS only appear, any idea how to troubleshoot this problem?

Aug 25, 2010The contacts in outlook have only my new contact info (1 contact) and the desktop and wireless software want to synchronize with this folder. The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?

Mar 25, 2010I noticed that my bold 9700 is restarting on its own , then the screen become white with writing JVM error 503, I search the internet to find out what happen, but few second later the phone rebooted own its own.
so i cross my finger while it was doing it. to my relieve it starts ok. But after few hours when i want to call somebody on my phone book, to my horror, the whole contacts on the address book are gone, not even 1 left, it’s totally empty. bbm, notepad, email, bookmarks, sms are fine , nothing is missing only the contacts are gone, and I’m now overseas for company meeting, and i didn’t bring any backup file with me, I’ve been a maniac for smart phones, i used Symbian, IPhone, android, winMo, etc and NONE of them ever give me such a problem out of no where, my 2000+ contacts are gone. And no I didn’t install or do anything to my phone since few weeks, cause I’m on my business trip.
is there any solution to my problem? I’ve tried sending service book bust doesn’t seem to help. Seriously, if Any of RIM employee or designer happens to see this post, i got question for you. This supposed to be a business phone, and now all my business contacts are gone.

Aug 16, 2010Firstly, I'm running BDM 6.0 on a Windows 7 laptop.I decided to upgrade my 9700 to the leaked .862 OS since I have been reading so many good things about it and am having an issue. This is the first upgrade I've done on this device which was running .602.Everything was working fine until just after the reboot, at which time I get the AT&T "World Phone" splash screen. It's been sitting there for about 45 minutes now and is not proceeding past this point. BDM still says "Connecting to device (this may take up to 30 minutes)".I am relatively new to the BB world and I thought the upgrade should be a snap.

I have google sync on my phone, but that only messed up my contacts by dumping a bunch of duplicates into my BB contacts and it doesnt seem to reverse sync. I have since deleted my gmail contacts so I dont suffer this fate again, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse sync from BB to gmail.

I notice that all songs are gleaned from the Windows media player on my computer-so I tried to add them to a playlist but with no success. I transferred the files directly to my phone and they end up in files, I am then unable to select them as a ringtone.I don't know how to use the BB desktop to transfer them-it seems to only sync with the playlists of the cds I have ripped.
