View 1 RepliesIn my thread of "application installation issues", it seems to be determined that my carrier who I got the phone from, is blocking the install of applications as I get a 910 error, application authorization failure, when i try to install an application from: [URL]. After some searching, I've come across BBSAK, which I use to wipe the phone and reload the oS. I've also come across the tool "vendelete" which deletes the vendor.xml files.
So I do the following:
1. Uninstall the original carrier OS from pc.
2. Install OS from different carrier to pc.
3. Use vendelete to get rid of the xml files which it says no xml files were found.
4. Use bbsak to wipe the oS.
5. Reload the OS.
But when the phone boots up, it still shows the sign of the carrier which I don't want, so I presume nothing has been updated? since when I try to install the application again, I still get the 910 error.
I am not on Enterprise, yet my settings keep getting wiped. Icons I want to hide reappear and ringtones revert back to default. On the 9900.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe issue I am facing is that my Bold will power up, load 2/3 of the way, then proceed to a white screen with a wiping status bar. It will then freeze around 54% (not always 54%, maybe 48%, sometimes up to 50%), reboot, and repeat.Blackberry is recognized in Loader and Desktop Manager however will fail to connect to JVM because it will repeat the wiping. It does load the software (only if I catch it with the red LED and screen off). I tried the latest desktop manager and the latest updates. I've pull the battery many many times for long periods of times.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am with Rogers and My contract was coming to an end. So 2 weeks ago I called them for a "price match" with TELUS or bell. and they agreed to it. Few hours after setting up my new plan, i noticed that my Wi-Fi symbol is not lit up however it does show the SSID at the top of my home screen as if I am connected to the Wi-Fi Network.I know My Wi-Fi was working before the contract upgrade. and i have tested with 3 different Wi-Fi networks that I was able to connect previously.
I am running 5.0.0.681. At the time of my Contract upgrade I was running .509 so I thought if I upgraded it might work but didn’t.Is it possible that Rogers blocked my Wi-Fi? Would a carrier have the ability to do this remotely?
I have a big issue.I purchased a BB 9930 from ebay that was confirmed to be unlocked. When I received it there was a SIM-Card (Sprint) inserted and it also had a Sprint logo on the phone... Anyway, I swapped the SIM-Card from my carrier in Switzerland (Europe) and everything looked OK as I was able to make phone calls, use the BB-App and so on. The problem is that I cant go online with browser and I cant use email services. I have sent "Host Routing Services" doesnt work.I have tried to Update Profile/PRL "The profile could not be updated. Please try again later. If problem persists, contact your wireless service provider" I have pulled batt. I have tried to register my BB over the website of my carrier with PIN code and Imei and it denies it because the phone isnt registered with the carrier... and so on tried about a 100 times! Of course I have the Blackberry service option with my carrier. My provider says that the former carrier has to give the BB free for them to register my phone... Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

is it possible to make Internet works on my Sprint 9930 to other GSM network (either gprs or BIS).
For my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI consider myself an advanced technical user. Got a bit of an issue here which even my Carrier is stumped - they're currently suggesting replacing my handset which may resolve the issue but seems a bit extremem to me.Basically, the device was functioning fine up until yesterday when I received a Service Update which I duly carried out (read, delete text, reboot). After that, internet browsing ability ceased. Email however continues albeit much much slower. If I connect on wifi however, I am able to browse although images in aps like Facebook won't load - very strange.I spoke a couple of times with Tech. Support and we've tried resending Service Books, re-registering the Host Routing Table and full reboots. None of that worked.
My hunch is and given the inconsistent nature of of the issue is that the problem lies in the Service Books or HRT somewhere.

Carrier: Orange UKService: BISDevice: Bold 9900
OS: 7.0 Bundle 2406

I migrated to a different carrier. I setup a new blackberry email address on it. When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem since yesterday. Out of the blue my 9700 (5.0.0.442, free device, Vodafone Germany) can no longer connect to the Internet. The connection to the BIS, however, is still there. It lacks only the right service books. Vodafone said that I should do a software update -> so I installed 5.0.0.536. But the problem persists. The Vodafone-BlackBerry support is then determined that posting the service books hang in a "queue" and can not be delivered. They created a new BIS account for testing, even there the problem exists. My carrier says I have to replace the 9700. But I don't think, that this is a hardware problem.
Sounds more like a software problem to me, because some service books still arrive:
Wi-Fi TCP / IP Browser
Wi-Fi TCP / IP Transport
Save Self VPL
D2 WAP 2.0
Wap Push Config
Vodafone DE MMS transport
Provisioning
Akkupulls, resending service books, wiping and new firmware install brought no improvement. I just despair.
Every data connection with no BIS requirement works. (e.g. weather apps)
I transferred contact data from my wife's BB9000 to my new BB9700 using BB desktop software 5.0. As a result in my new 9700 bold I got transferred old email account from original BB9000. I could Hide buy I could not delete it and every time I try to send email my BB9700 giving me option to use both new and old email address

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was trying to back up my phone with the blackberry desktop manager. I kept entering my password (I couldn't remember exactly what it was, so I went online and reset it for the last attempt). I got the email confirmation that it was reset, so I entered the new, reset password. It said it was wrong anyway and started wiping my device. EVERYTHING -- all my contacts, all my sms, all my work emails, everything. I popped out the battery when it was at about 6% of the wiping process but whenever I turn it back on it starts wiping again.how can I stop this? It is my phone, I entered the correct password, I only wanted to back up my data and now I'm losing everything instead.

Even my 27" iMac just came with a bigger version of said cloth. I opened my iPhone 4 last night and no cloth? I guess they didn't feel the need to include it this time???
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had no idea that my 3G phone came with a black cloth. I guess I never looked hard enough. I was opening it up today and noticed it. I cleaned off my iPhone 4 screen and now its really clean (of course once i touch it, it will change).. So is it ok to wipe the screen with the cloths? I'm sure it is.. but afterwards, I started focusing on the feel of the screen.I was thinking that when I first opened the phone.. the screen was really smooth and my fingers would slide without resistance.. now I have myself thinking that after wiping it off.. its stickier and gives resistance.
