For my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.

For example, sometimes I get forwarded chain texts and it won't let me view them, it'll show a random block of text and that's it. And if I try to reply to it, it won't show me my reply, it's only doing this with a few contacts, but it's still extremely annoying.I've tried uninstalling my third party apps and it didn't fix it, is it a setting I have to change or does anyone know anything?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked T-Mobile 9700 that I'm using on Cincinnati Bell Wireless.At certain points I still see T-Mobile screens or software displays - when I first open up the browser, when the phone first reboots, etc.It happens quickly and doesn't really bother me, I was just curious if certain software stuff like that was permanently set into the phone's OS even though it is unlocked and working well on another carrier..(I upgraded to .593 yesterday.)

When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem since yesterday. Out of the blue my 9700 (5.0.0.442, free device, Vodafone Germany) can no longer connect to the Internet. The connection to the BIS, however, is still there. It lacks only the right service books. Vodafone said that I should do a software update -> so I installed 5.0.0.536. But the problem persists. The Vodafone-BlackBerry support is then determined that posting the service books hang in a "queue" and can not be delivered. They created a new BIS account for testing, even there the problem exists.My carrier says I have to replace the 9700. But I don't think, that this is a hardware problem.

I transferred contact data from my wife's BB9000 to my new BB9700 using BB desktop software 5.0. As a result in my new 9700 bold I got transferred old email account from original BB9000. I could Hide buy I could not delete it and every time I try to send email my BB9700 giving me option to use both new and old email address

View 14 Replies View RelatedIn my thread of "application installation issues", it seems to be determined that my carrier who I got the phone from, is blocking the install of applications as I get a 910 error, application authorization failure, when i try to install an application from: [URL]. After some searching, I've come across BBSAK, which I use to wipe the phone and reload the oS. I've also come across the tool "vendelete" which deletes the vendor.xml files.
So I do the following:
1. Uninstall the original carrier OS from pc.
2. Install OS from different carrier to pc.
3. Use vendelete to get rid of the xml files which it says no xml files were found.
4. Use bbsak to wipe the oS.
5. Reload the OS.
But when the phone boots up, it still shows the sign of the carrier which I don't want, so I presume nothing has been updated? since when I try to install the application again, I still get the 910 error.
I have my Iphone since January, and was working normally , then since yesterday is showing searching on the place that should be showing my carrier name. what should I do?

We have set them up with our bes server and changed our bis accounts (hotmail + other) and the phone is now receiving email from all accounts correctly. The problem is all the mail is going into one "inbox" on the handset. Previously we had the bes email going to seperate bis inboxes and the bes account going to its own seperate inbox. As below At the moment everything is going into the one envelope inbox.Any idea's?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi just upgraded my Storm to the Bold 9700 a couple days ago. When setting up gmail through the "personal email setup" icon on the 9700, I add gmail successfully. My problems are below:
1. Sent messages from my gmail account on the computer, do not show up on my BB. I found that gmail made the fix to not have them appear in your inbox as new messages, but the sent messages don't even show up with a check mark. I made sure the "Hide Sent messages" option is set to "No" but this didn't fix the problem. Is there any way I can at least view the sent messages with a check mark next to them on my BB?
2. While trying to test out different scenarios, I found that email I send to myself on gmail don't show up on my BB. Is there any way to turn this back on?
I am using two web based email providers, gmail and directbox.com. All my new emails go directly to my 9700, but not all of them go to my outlook. It seems like only unread emails go to my outlook, but then again, sometimes I also get emails to outlook after I have read them on my 9700. I want to receive ALL my emails in outlook, regardless if I have read them already or not.

However since last week all the entries are now showing twice, one in my "google calendar" and the same entry again in my "device" calendar. I would like to only show one of them as the default, but I can't set a default evidently, so in order to show the entries once only I need to select the calendar manually each time.
How can I
a.) get rid of the duplicates - or alternatively
b.) show one calendar as the default
c.) sync my tasks and show them on the calendar?
My bb 9700 isn't showing my messages. I've tried changing the settings in my SMS inbox to show both messages and emails,but that doesn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up. So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

I don't know what caused this but I updated, Facebook, Twitter, App World and WhatsAPP lately. I also deleted BB Maps as the device was running low on application memory. Now the Application center on trying to populate/update the list shows Error 404.there are some really important messages that I'd like to recover.I do have a back-up of the device but will restoring to the back-up delete my current messages (the ones after the back-up)?

The ONLY way I've been able to find my text messages is to go to "search", type in "tex" (no more because it mis directs me) then the icon with all the messages is there. I tried the BB button and do NOT get an option to move the folder. The ONLY way I've been able to find it is to use the specific search method as stated above. I've been working on the problem for 2 hours now since a friend told me via Facebook that she had sent me a text.
