for new emails, the little red start dosnt show up on the little letter icon at the top of the screen.....but when i do a batter pull, it works, but then stops again.AND the cycle repeats, anybody got any ideas? thanks
View 14 RepliesWhen I first got the phone, the little red notification did show up above the letter when I got a new email. But after A certain time frame, it would go away. I then found out that after I do a battery pull, it fixes the problem for a while, but then it goes back to not showing the little red notification again. I was wondering if their was a way to fix this? or if its just a permanent bug.

We have set them up with our bes server and changed our bis accounts (hotmail + other) and the phone is now receiving email from all accounts correctly. The problem is all the mail is going into one "inbox" on the handset. Previously we had the bes email going to seperate bis inboxes and the bes account going to its own seperate inbox. As below At the moment everything is going into the one envelope inbox.Any idea's?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi just upgraded my Storm to the Bold 9700 a couple days ago. When setting up gmail through the "personal email setup" icon on the 9700, I add gmail successfully. My problems are below:
1. Sent messages from my gmail account on the computer, do not show up on my BB. I found that gmail made the fix to not have them appear in your inbox as new messages, but the sent messages don't even show up with a check mark. I made sure the "Hide Sent messages" option is set to "No" but this didn't fix the problem. Is there any way I can at least view the sent messages with a check mark next to them on my BB?
2. While trying to test out different scenarios, I found that email I send to myself on gmail don't show up on my BB. Is there any way to turn this back on?
I am using two web based email providers, gmail and directbox.com. All my new emails go directly to my 9700, but not all of them go to my outlook. It seems like only unread emails go to my outlook, but then again, sometimes I also get emails to outlook after I have read them on my 9700. I want to receive ALL my emails in outlook, regardless if I have read them already or not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been through the many Google synching problems already and finally managed to get the calendar going as planned. However since last week all the entries are now showing twice, one in my "google calendar" and the same entry again in my "device" calendar. I would like to only show one of them as the default, but I can't set a default evidently, so in order to show the entries once only I need to select the calendar manually each time.
How can I
a.) get rid of the duplicates - or alternatively
b.) show one calendar as the default
c.) sync my tasks and show them on the calendar?
My bb 9700 isn't showing my messages. I've tried changing the settings in my SMS inbox to show both messages and emails,but that doesn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up. So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 is not showing old messages in the device. It does however, show that they are there but only in draft mode without ANY DATA in them what so ever. I don't know what caused this but I updated, Facebook, Twitter, App World and WhatsAPP lately. I also deleted BB Maps as the device was running low on application memory. Now the Application center on trying to populate/update the list shows Error 404.there are some really important messages that I'd like to recover.I do have a back-up of the device but will restoring to the back-up delete my current messages (the ones after the back-up)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedLast week I posted issues I was having getting into my phone after multiple attempts to down load Ver 2.0 of Docs2Go all of which failed.Well having managed to get back into my phone via desktop manager I was able to remove the offending application which enabled me to use the phone again.
I had to re-install the OS and then restore from a backup, however now I receive no email notification sounds. I'm only receiving visual led notifications due to having berrybuzz loaded as this also stopped working.All the profiles are correctly set and the sound is turned on in each, yet I'm unable to receive an audiable warning of new emails.
i have a notification on my home screen and I'm not sure what it is. its a globe and i'm pretty sure its related to the browser but not 100%. someone help me get rid of this

A battery pull does not fix my issue.
Apps Installed: CaptureIt (Version 1.4), crunchSMS (Version 2.15), Media Mall (Version 1.5.29), BlackBerry Messenger (Version 5.0).
Issue
My bold is constantly showing that I have new BlackBerry Messenger messages on my home screen. I have closed all my messages and it still will not go away. I've tried sending a message to every one of my contacts (very annoying) so I could individually close them (thinking perhaps something went wrong when I previously broadcasted a message). This issue started a week after I got my phone and the previous two BlackBerrys I had did the same thing. Over time the number will continue to increase (on my last phone I had 138 messages at one point). The icon still works when I actually receive new messages it will just increase the number. See if you look at the top of the screen you will see it shows I have 5 BBM messages, however I have no open conversations at all.
i have one piece of 9700 and i live in the UAE and have a 3g contract with my provider. But when i use the mobile it shows small edge icon and not big one.My simcard works in another bb 9700 but not this one, can anyone help me out?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.

- Checked and searched forums / the web
- Did a battery pull
- Checked application memory, standing strong at 85 MB
- Memory card has 1.8GB As well
- Cleared browser history and other memory 'stuff' just for the sake of it
The problem is old Missed calls are showing, but the new ones aren't. I haven't got the slightest clue why really, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue on my BlackBerry 9700 Bold, which I got on Orange UK. For some reason my E-mail and SMS Notifications are stacking under the same icon. So for example if I have 3 e-mails and 1 text it shows 4 as the e-mail Notification icon. I have friends on Vodafone who get two separate icons. So far I've tried the following: I've tried updating the firmware to the latest sticky at the top of this forum. Making sure Display New message indicator under General Options is set to yes Battery pull. I still get a red star over the SMS icon in the menu, but just no notification. In my themes menu I have Precision Zen and Precision Orange. Both have the same issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I both got the 9700 this past weekend. Mine works great but unfortunately, his voicemail notification does not work. We've tried adding visual voicemail, removing visual voicemail, adding it again, removing it again, resetting to network with Customer Care. My husband doesn't even care about VVM. He just needs regular voicemail notification. And yes, the voicemail works properly and the notification has worked perfectly fine through the years on his 8900, his old 8320, his old Pearl, etc.
Yesterday I called Customer Care and the CSR rep said all we had to do was go to the home screen --> hit menu --> scroll and click on messages --> hit menu --> scroll and click on voicemail setup --> scroll to notifications --> choose ON, then save or done. Sounds simple enough. Unfortunately, when I followed his steps and went to the home screen and hit menu, there is no "messages" in the menu. If I go to the messages icon, I can get to message alerts for all messages but there is no voicemail setup.
I have a notification that I can not figure out. It indicates I have one followed by an orange globe. Please tell me what this is.

It is a solid blue chat bubble (not the bbm chat bubble blue but a lighter one) I have no idea what this is, i have gone to my messages, my sms and deleted everything, this thing just popped up today. I have tried a battery pull among other things and have no idea what this is. Once again, it is a solid blue chat bubble (no white dots or red or anything near it) and the number is to the right of the blue icon.
