BB Bold :: 9780 Showing Only SOS Signal?
Apr 9, 2011I have been using my Bold 9780 for the past 18 months without any problem. But recently it stopped connecting to the mobile network, and shows only the SOS signal. It does connect to the wifi, and all other functions seem to be working okay. I tried with different SIM cards with different providers with the same result. These SIM cards are working fine with other handsets.

Apr 20, 2010So for the past couple of days I have been getting SOS where I would normally just have one or two bars. At home it switches from 3G to 3g to EDGE to SOS. It has always switched from 3g to edge and back and forth but almost never see SOS until recently. Then of course at work I'm getting SOS in the mens room where I would normally have again just week signal. I called my carrier and they said there has been cell tower work going on for the past few days and it should end tonight by end of business. I'm a little suspicious since they are supposed to be done by EOB on the same day that I happened to call in about it. I checked with some iphone users in my area and they have not been getting sos. I'm just wondering what you folks think. Does this sound like a probably explanation or should I call back and push a little harder?

Sep 8, 2010I don't seem to be receiving sms messages that are sent to me when I am out of signal. I go back in to full signal and I never get them until I ask the person to send another sms, at which point I get all the backlogged ones from that person. I still am waiting to receive sms from a friend who sent it over a week ago.
An I the only one that is experiencing this?
BB Bold 9700 :: Data Signal At Work
Sep 9, 2010Since Monday, I have been experiencing problems with my data coverage at work. Some of my BBM's to friends are delayed, I can't get a net connection to use any apps (Facebook, Twitter, Shazam, App World) etc. My 'phone' signal as it were is fine. I receive texts and calls on time no problem.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, and how to fix it? It was fine up until Monday and I havent changed any settings or changed OS's. My data connection is fine everywhere else.I have also noticed, possibly becuase my phone is trying to receive a data signal that my battery is being drained by about 10% an hour.
BB Bold 9700 :: Still Can Make Calls When Signal Is Off
Jun 5, 2010The wierdest things had happen to my blackberry.Before I go on, it involved 2 simcard.
Simcard A : simcard with BBM and full data service is registered to (Indonesian network)
Simcard B : without BBM registration, etc. (Indonesian network)
This is how it started. I have brought my phone from Indonesia to China. As I tried to use my BBM, it wont work. I tried switching on WIFI but all I got is the dull grey wifi icon. I tried so many setting but it would not work. Remember, I am using simcard A.Now, I pull out simcard A and put simcard B on. I dont know what happen, I start receiving BBM messages. I was so afraid of getting charge for data roaming, I quickly switch connection prefference to 'wifi only' with my WIFI connection on. At the home screen, next to the small antenna icon, it says 'OFF' so i assumed mobile signal is OFF. To my supprise, my BBM is still receiving messages and I can reply them no problem. Again I assumed it was connected through WIFI. What is so weird is, while i was chatting away with WIFI ON (still dull grey icon) and mobile signal OFF, I suddenly receive a phone call.
Can anyone tell me what is going on with my Blackberry? Am I being charge for data roaming while I was chatting away or I was just receiving and sending data through WIFI? but why the calls came in with mobile signal OFF?
BB Bold 9700 :: Tmobile Is The Best - Signal Dropping - Edge To Gps
May 1, 2010Always maintained a very strong 3g signal, 5 bars always no matter where I was. The last 3 or 4 days my signal started dropping like crazy to EDGE - edge - to gps or whatever to no signal. Did everything to try and fix it. Called T-Mobile about the problem and they said no problem we are sending you a new 9700. I will have it Wednesday afternoon. I asked if it will be a new one or refurbished, she said a new one. You can't beat that with a stick. They have the best customer service out of all the carriers. Just wanted to tell my recent experience with my carrier.

May 30, 2010Once again my charging problems are back! It must be my battery because I have done a batttery pull and still its not charging properly! It shows the charging signal as tho it is charger but the battery never moves I have never seen anything like this! Looks like I'm goin to have to buy a whole new battery.

Mar 22, 2010I got my 9700 about a month ago and the battery life has so far been excellent. About a week ago the 3G/GPRS signal dropped in the flat where I live and ever since then the battery drains really quickly when I'm at home. I can't seem to find a logical answer to the problem. The only thing I'm thinking it could be the Googlemail app constantly trying to get a feed. I don't run any other apps (no weather programs etc). My partner seems to also be having the same problem although she doesn't run any apps.

We have set them up with our bes server and changed our bis accounts (hotmail + other) and the phone is now receiving email from all accounts correctly. The problem is all the mail is going into one "inbox" on the handset. Previously we had the bes email going to seperate bis inboxes and the bes account going to its own seperate inbox. As below At the moment everything is going into the one envelope inbox.Any idea's?

Jan 18, 2010i just upgraded my Storm to the Bold 9700 a couple days ago. When setting up gmail through the "personal email setup" icon on the 9700, I add gmail successfully. My problems are below:
1. Sent messages from my gmail account on the computer, do not show up on my BB. I found that gmail made the fix to not have them appear in your inbox as new messages, but the sent messages don't even show up with a check mark. I made sure the "Hide Sent messages" option is set to "No" but this didn't fix the problem. Is there any way I can at least view the sent messages with a check mark next to them on my BB?
2. While trying to test out different scenarios, I found that email I send to myself on gmail don't show up on my BB. Is there any way to turn this back on?
BB Bold 9700 :: Not All Emails Showing In Outlook
Jan 27, 2010I am using two web based email providers, gmail and directbox.com. All my new emails go directly to my 9700, but not all of them go to my outlook. It seems like only unread emails go to my outlook, but then again, sometimes I also get emails to outlook after I have read them on my 9700. I want to receive ALL my emails in outlook, regardless if I have read them already or not.

May 11, 2010I have been through the many Google synching problems already and finally managed to get the calendar going as planned. However since last week all the entries are now showing twice, one in my "google calendar" and the same entry again in my "device" calendar. I would like to only show one of them as the default, but I can't set a default evidently, so in order to show the entries once only I need to select the calendar manually each time.
How can I
a.) get rid of the duplicates - or alternatively
b.) show one calendar as the default
c.) sync my tasks and show them on the calendar?

May 26, 2010Basically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up. So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

Jul 30, 2011My Bold 9700 is not showing old messages in the device. It does however, show that they are there but only in draft mode without ANY DATA in them what so ever. I don't know what caused this but I updated, Facebook, Twitter, App World and WhatsAPP lately. I also deleted BB Maps as the device was running low on application memory. Now the Application center on trying to populate/update the list shows Error 404.there are some really important messages that I'd like to recover.I do have a back-up of the device but will restoring to the back-up delete my current messages (the ones after the back-up)?

Mar 7, 2010For some odd reason missed calls are not showing on my call log.And for reference I have done the following:
- Checked and searched forums / the web
- Did a battery pull
- Checked application memory, standing strong at 85 MB
- Memory card has 1.8GB As well
- Cleared browser history and other memory 'stuff' just for the sake of it
The problem is old Missed calls are showing, but the new ones aren't. I haven't got the slightest clue why really, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

Jan 4, 2010This is my first blackberry so this might be normal but when I look on blogs that have embedded videos on them nothing shows at all. If it wasn't for the site saying look at the video below I wouldn't even know that one exists. I can't see why the videos won't show as generally they are you tube videos anyway.

Feb 2, 2010When I first got the phone, the little red notification did show up above the letter when I got a new email. But after A certain time frame, it would go away. I then found out that after I do a battery pull, it fixes the problem for a while, but then it goes back to not showing the little red notification again. Aug 25, 2010I sync my BB with Outlook via Google Calendar so the process goes Blackberry to Google Calendars to Outlook via a cable on my PC.
The problem I have is:
Create a calendar item in Outlook -> shows up fine in OWA and on the BB.
Create a calendar item on BB -> shows up in Outlook but not in OWA.
Anyone else come across this? Surely OWA reads the same info as the Outlook client? Why isnt it seeing the calendar item created on the BB?
