i'm in france, i own a 8900 and i'm going to change for a 9700. I renew my contract and get the cell with my points, the only problem is i'm with orange and the phone is like that with Orange on the bottom. they just ruined everything... when i look t-mobile in US it's so much better than this orange logo... Is there a way to remove it ? to hide it ?
Not asking how to debrand the phone, I know thats frowned upon.I just got a 9700 Bold and want to make it as clean as I can legally. I've already replaced the faceplate on the front of the phone with a OEM one. Is it possible for me to disable the t-mobile logo thats always floating above the home screen? Also can I remove the applications that they pre-installed on the phone? (does updating the OS do this??)Basically everything but changing the bootup logo as I believe that involves debranding..
I am having a blackberry bold 9700 carrier locked phone. It came with OS 5, now i want to upgrade the OS to V6. My question is will it allow me to upgrade the OS to V6?. I have seen OS6 from the same carrier on blackberry software download section which i prefer to use. If it allows, should i delete vendor.xml file?
For my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.
"Confirmed: there aren't any rim internal beta builds of os 6 for 9100 or 9700 yet. Thus carrier testing hasn't started. Just a heads up."Just posted on B Bleaks.I would have thought testing would have begun by now.
I have an unlocked T-Mobile 9700 that I'm using on Cincinnati Bell Wireless. At certain points I still see T-Mobile screens or software displays - when I first open up the browser, when the phone first reboots, etc.It happens quickly and doesn't really bother me, I was just curious if certain software stuff like that was permanently set into the phone's OS even though it is unlocked and working well on another carrier..(I upgraded to .593 yesterday.)
I've benn triyng to connect with my bold 9700 (ATT carrier) using the bb desktop manager but there's no "IP Modem" icon for it. I'm using version 5.0.1.28 Nov 11 2009.
I migrated to a different carrier. I setup a new blackberry email address on it. When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?
I have a strange problem since yesterday. Out of the blue my 9700 (5.0.0.442, free device, Vodafone Germany) can no longer connect to the Internet. The connection to the BIS, however, is still there. It lacks only the right service books. Vodafone said that I should do a software update -> so I installed 5.0.0.536. But the problem persists. The Vodafone-BlackBerry support is then determined that posting the service books hang in a "queue" and can not be delivered. They created a new BIS account for testing, even there the problem exists. My carrier says I have to replace the 9700. But I don't think, that this is a hardware problem. Sounds more like a software problem to me, because some service books still arrive:
Wi-Fi TCP / IP Browser Wi-Fi TCP / IP Transport Save Self VPL D2 WAP 2.0 Wap Push Config Vodafone DE MMS transport Provisioning
Akkupulls, resending service books, wiping and new firmware install brought no improvement. I just despair. Every data connection with no BIS requirement works. (e.g. weather apps)
I transferred contact data from my wife's BB9000 to my new BB9700 using BB desktop software 5.0. As a result in my new 9700 bold I got transferred old email account from original BB9000. I could Hide buy I could not delete it and every time I try to send email my BB9700 giving me option to use both new and old email address
Is there a way to put operator logo instead of just text on the current network? Mine just say "AT&T" and when I had my iphone there was a way to put at&t globe logo next to the word.
Since today a new logo appeared at the top of my screen and i'm wondering what it means. It contains a 1 with a yellow browser logo to the right of it.Can anyone tell me what it means?
I'm a new bb user, which has patiently waited 3weeks to get my new 9700.- which arrived today BUT, when I turn it on the progress line goes all the way to the right, and then nothing else happens. It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.
Called the web-shop I bought it from, and they say I have to return it, and wait for them to have a look at it..usually 2-4 weeks. Is there anything I can do?
is there a way to remove the dust under the screen for blackberry bold 9700? i've viewed the Internet video on how to dismantle the blackberry bold 9700, but noticed that the screen is still attached to the lcd screen...
My 9700 has two English input methods: US English and UK English and I found it's totally unnecessary to have both.I tried to use BBSAK to remove net_rim_tid_dynamic_ling_data_english_uk_45k_2.cod.But after reboot, nothing happened.Could anyone pls tell me how to remove UK English from my 9700?
If I remove a service book related to an app, say Need for Speed, will that get rid of the app all together? For some reason I can't just uninstall the app but I can hide it. That doesn't do me much good because I know it's still back there hiding and peeking back at me.
Yes fair we have to move with times, but removing functions and changing some apps are as frustrating as upgrading our firmware, month after month, and ya, no need to but with us human nature we just have to have the latest version, even if its not even as good as the one we just wipe, then we roll back again. The point is; since ver 4.x we had the SMS view changed, the ringtones volume, the key lock key, that come and go, now they decided we no longer need the suspend button (the top right hand button). Aren’t there as pole somewhere where the developers can post their upcoming ideas or add a “What changed in this Version” readme file with each version so we at least know, this has been dropped, this has been added, and this BUG is still there after 99 updates.
A forum to make the suggestion to give the user the option to have the old style SMS or the new format chat version, (I have been using a backup Curve 8900 (4.6) this past two weeks as JUST COME TO REALISE HOW MUCH BETTER THE OLD sms reader are, the way we use SMS, over the ver 5.0. As we do not use it as a chat service (way to costly !!!) Pin or email is much better.Any ideas as to how we can get the developers to speak to the people that do use the phones day in and day out, I’m sure there is more suggestions out there to improve the software on a perfect phone
On the clock "page", there is a red symbol that looks like either a BB or a keyboard & it has 9AM there also.. I have gone into the alarm settings & have been unable to remove this alarm. I have no idea what it is. Also, on the home page, there is a tiny clock symbol.
I recently set-up my Email account to my bold 9700 and I found that all my email addresses from messenger live had been stored into the phone's contact list.
I removed my E-mail from the phone but the contacts remain, any ideas on where I go from here?
I have a rooted Galaxy S5 running stock 4.4.2 KitKat. I want to remove the carrier name from the lock screen (not the status bar). I downloaded Wanam Xposed and while several of the features in it worked, hide carrier was not one of them that did. How I can hide or remove the carrier name on the lock screen?
