View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my HTC M8 (Carrier - 3) and am trying to remove the carrier boot animation. I already like the HTC/Android bot animation I already have, it's just that the carrier boot animation gets in the way. I don't need to change or replace the boot animation in any way whatsoever - I just want to REMOVE the carrier boot animations.
Upon navigating my way through System>Customize>Resource I find the following folders:
- hTC_bootup_one.zip
- hTC_downanimation.zip
- H3GAT_bootanimation.zip
- H3GAT_downanimation.zip
- H3GIT_bootanimation.zip
- H3GIT_downanimation.zip
- H3GUK_bootanimation.zip
- H3GUK_downanimation.zip
Now, assuming I am correct that the files beginning with "H3G" are the carrier boot animations, I have proceeded to go ahead and delete all of them, except the files starting with "hTC". Upon rebooting my phone, the carrier boot animation is still present, and when navigating back to the Resource folder, the "H3G" have magically reappeared. Now I'm a little annoyed.
So I turn back and head into the CID folder and play around with the XML files. When entering the CID folder, as well as the default.xml file, I find the following:
- H3G_001.xml
- H3G_106.xml
- H3G_402.xml
- H3G_G04.xml
I try deleting the H3G xml files as well as the H3G ZIP files and reboot. Still no luck as the files reappear again.
This time, I try to go into the H3G xml files and replace the coding for the H3G boot animation with the hTC boot animations. After another reboot, still no change.
After a update my X10 mini pro doesn't boot anymore and now it only hans on the SE logo at the very beginning.I tried to use PC companion and SE update service to reinstall/update the firmware but in SE update service I get that I allready have the last version. and on PC companion I get a message that there is no software available for my phone.I even tried to get a own custom firmware to run on it with flashtools but i can't get the x10 mini pro's stock firmware its on xda-developers but its in a zip file while it has to be in a .ftf and i cant seem to get the zip file converted in to a ftf file. I think when i have done that it will work again... but i cant find any tutorial about converting to ftf in any kind of way

I renew my contract and get the cell with my points, the only problem is i'm with orange and the phone is like that with Orange on the bottom. they just ruined everything... when i look t-mobile in US it's so much better than this orange logo... Is there a way to remove it ? to hide it ?
View 14 Replies View RelatedNot asking how to debrand the phone, I know thats frowned upon.I just got a 9700 Bold and want to make it as clean as I can legally. I've already replaced the faceplate on the front of the phone with a OEM one. Is it possible for me to disable the t-mobile logo thats always floating above the home screen? Also can I remove the applications that they pre-installed on the phone? (does updating the OS do this??)Basically everything but changing the bootup logo as I believe that involves debranding..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a new bb user, which has patiently waited 3weeks to get my new 9700.- which arrived today BUT, when I turn it on the progress line goes all the way to the right, and then nothing else happens. It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.
Called the web-shop I bought it from, and they say I have to return it, and wait for them to have a look at it..usually 2-4 weeks. Is there anything I can do?
I've had my Nexus 5 phone for 16 months now - generally worked great. Occasionally it dies and wont power up, but tends to be fine once you leave it charged for 10 minutes and give it a go a few times.
However, now, it wont boot up at all. It has a mind of its own of turning on and off every few seconds, and then just staying on the Google logo before switching off again.
Very occasionally it gets to the 4 circles but again shut offs after a few seconds.
I've read a few threads that suggest pressing Vol button and power on button. I've tried that and get to the android robot screen, but it switches off like 1 second after, so im unable to select any options.
When I have connected to a charger, it constantly boots up and switches off the google logo after couple of seconds all by itself. But if not connected to a charger, then it remains off unless I press power button or give it a little knock.
my phone wont start! It stays stuck in the sony ericsson logo during startup.

Just out of curiosity, is there any OEM battery for Galaxy S6 is sold online and how to remove the battery? I wouldn't take risk of removing the battery myself though.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am new galaxy s ii owner. i got this device two days ago and when i was playing with the camera i noticed a strange noise every time i went to the camera app. i tested with other camera apps and updated my firmware via kies and i can still hear the noise. the noise is like ,, two clicks" at every camera startup and that's all. after it my camera's autofocus and everything else works perfectly fine. exact sound i found in one of Internet videos: [url] but his camera does not work and the noise repeats. so my question would be is that noise perfectly fine? or is it just me and i should replace the device?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI read the sticky about the 5 things to do to your S% when you get it and have a question about removing the clear plastic film over the camera lens. The sticky says to remove it but on mine there's a hole in the centre right over the middle of the lens, a few mm in diameter. I assumed it was there was there for protection so have left it in place especially in view of the hole over the centre of the lens. So is it still obscuring something or can I leave it there?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI didn't think I'd want the google search bar w/ voice on my home screen (the widget), so I removed it, figuring a small icon was enough and that I could always add it back later. Now that I decided I do want it after all, I can't find it anywhere; seems it would be under widgets, but not that I can see. Where I can find it?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAs most of you are familiar with Samsung's latest iteration of Samsung Kies, the Smart Switch, it is able to "unroot" most of the rooted devices including the Galaxy S6 (Tried it with my rooted G920F). By using the function somewhere in the "Emergency software recovery and initialization" tab, it will opt the user to upgrade/reinstall the existing software therefore unrooting your device.
My question is - how about using this method to remove the custom recovery (i.e. CWM or TWRP), thus reverting back to stock recovery?
Okay, first let me start off by giving some descriptions to questions you may have:
*My phone is not rooted.
*I have not messed with any modifications.
*My phone's automatic update is turned off. (I haven't update since 4.42.)
*I've already erased the cache in recovery mode.
*I don't have a back-up.
My phone had died because the battery life ran out. I charged it fully and unplugged it. I kept it off for a little while, and when I turned it on it booted normally to the start-up screen, blinked off and restarted back to the screen; it remained stuck there. I can power off and enter recovery mode, but I can't power off. The charge logo appears when I plug it up, but it stays there with an empty power logo even after I unplug it. I have to always take out the battery to turn it off. What did I do wrong, and I can I fix it without having to wipe out documents? (I have a lot of writing documents).
I have a rooted Galaxy S5 running stock 4.4.2 KitKat. I want to remove the carrier name from the lock screen (not the status bar). I downloaded Wanam Xposed and while several of the features in it worked, hide carrier was not one of them that did. How I can hide or remove the carrier name on the lock screen?
