I have a rooted Galaxy S5 running stock 4.4.2 KitKat. I want to remove the carrier name from the lock screen (not the status bar). I downloaded Wanam Xposed and while several of the features in it worked, hide carrier was not one of them that did. How I can hide or remove the carrier name on the lock screen?

I successfully rooted my Nexus 5 without entirely knowing what I was doing. But I am finally ready for the Lollipop update that came over the air several days ago. I finally downloaded it, but when it got ready to install it the phone went into what I believe was recovery mode and said "teamwin," before opening up to a menu. From there, I didn't exactly know what to do to get Lollipop to install itself.

And then there was the battery life problem. So I switched to PA 4.6 beta based on kitkat. I would now like to try Marshmallow.
My question is, will downloading the factory image and flashing it through clockwork mod work? Or should I revert back to 5.1.1 nandroid backup I made earlier and wait for OTA? I can see some post about a feature called verity and the complications it brings to rooted users in 6.0. Does this affect the process of flashing a stock factory image on a rooted phone?

If i "unroot" the system with supersu and then install it after, would that work too? Also i would like to update my kernel to the newest version. Im running blu_spark build #30. Would i just reflash the kernel or do i have to jump through hoops by reflashing the rom first? I dont remember how it works.

I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:

and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.
All of a sudden, my wifi keeps switching between off and on every... 5-10 seconds. No recent downloads/changes, running KK 4.4.2 ....

Most programs do not recognize the LG 4 for some reason I read but don't remember. I am also not techy enough to root the phone. It blows my mind that this smartphone doesn't have a recycle bin or a go-back feature where you can recover deleted items.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a BB 8900 Curve which i replaced yesterday with a Bold 9000 and now cannot register the device on the carrier network. Calls etc are fine, just BIS will not. My previous 8900 worked fine? I have been on the phone with the carrier the entire day and they have not been able to resolve it. All i did was change the device in the BIS website and now it is broken.
