I have a rooted Galaxy S5 running stock 4.4.2 KitKat. I want to remove the carrier name from the lock screen (not the status bar). I downloaded Wanam Xposed and while several of the features in it worked, hide carrier was not one of them that did. How I can hide or remove the carrier name on the lock screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, this is my problem, I have protective leather casing (I hope thats how you say it on english) and on Kitkat, I could slide/answer with finger without opening casing, it has a hole in it, so now on 5.1.1. we got "Reject with message" and answering slider is moved up.
Since we cannot disable "Reject with message", is there an application, to show me kitkat style answering screen to place slider exactly where it was on kitkat android, so i can use my casing without problems?
I had the same problem, with clock after upgrading to 5.1.1. and I installed app, to get back clock on location where it was...

Got the N5 in 2012 with 4.4.4 on loved it, no problems then. Then lollipop came along causing battery drain and random crashes. Waited for 5.1 hoping for fixes, installed it battery life improved but still crashed randomly. I put it down to the memory leak problem. I decided to downgrade. I downgraded back to kitkat 4.4.4 after unlocking the boot loader. Now I have random crashes running Kit Kat.
PS If I carry my USB battery pack around and keep phone plugged into it the phone never crashes. Its just not a very mobile phone then!!
Around a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
How I can do this? I'm sick to death of the mobile active radio bug and I know KitKat doesn't have this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometime in the last week, a post was made asking how to prevent an unwanted person from contacting her via SMS messaging. She can block his phone number directly, and/or just not answer "unknown caller" attempts. (could just direct those to a silent ring/disconnect)
I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:
(*Text blocking not available on Android 4.4/KitKat) found it here: [URL] ....
and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.
All of a sudden, my wifi keeps switching between off and on every... 5-10 seconds. No recent downloads/changes, running KK 4.4.2 ....

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I just had to update my phone & I absolutely hate all the changes. For once, when I open up a text message & begin to reply, I always have to hit the letter key twice before it actually appears in the message box. If not, the first letter I type is always left out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThree or four days after a phone restart, I cannot turn WiFi off, it immediately turns back on. Seems like one app is doing this, how do I find it?
Details: I have an HTC One M7 on Sprint. It’s not rooted. After the recent update to Android Lollipop, I cannot turn the WiFi off.
It’s not as black-and-white as it would first appear, the WiFi on/off feature will work for 2, 3, or 4 days after the phone is hard restarted.
During the initial 2, 3, 4 day period of time, (it’s inexact, I’m still experimenting) WiFi on/off works fine. After the 2, 3, 4 day period of time, the off won’t work. What I see in settings, the Wi-Fi On/Off button with the green triangle never goes to off. On the settings screen when you two-finger swipe-down, the square WiFi icon when clicked, the concentric power waves will turn off for a second or two, then come right back on. And the WiFi icon in the status bar constantly shows a connection when trying to turn off.

There's many differences, especially in the apps menu. Will that make a difference in insulation? Are there any other changes I should make before the update?

Does this only work with certain apps? Is there a list of these apps? Is it some setting I'm missing? (Attached is an example image I found on Google)

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy S5 keeps (4-5 times a day) searching for GPS signal. I have full strength signal and a white 4G at my house. It never searched for GPS with Kit Kat but since I have updated to lollipop, it seems to loose the GPS and has to search for it. It quickly finds it again and the notification goes away.
