I had a few spots on the battery graph where it was asleep but that lasted no more than 10 mins. This is just draining my battery. I found snapchat had recieved 15 gb of background data in the past 3 weeks so i turned on 'limit background usage'. I did that last night and the wakelock issue was temporarily resolved. Not today though!

I need some app to detect which app/service is causing the Wakelocks so that I can take action. I cannot root due to restrictions on my corporate apps and they will stop working after root, which doesn't work. So I am looking for some app which can show wakelocks when I am not rooted. Previously on Nexus 5 I had used 'Wakelock Detector' app, which had ADB workaround to make the app work even if your are not rooted. But unfortunately after Marshmallow update it stopped working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust noticed yesterday that my battery life has been pretty poor on my new Nexus 6P. It took me a while to narrow it down, but I finally noticed that Bluetooth appears to be keeping the phone awake.
Whenever Bluetooth is on, regardless of whether it's connected or paired to anything (I normally use Android Wear, but I completely unpaired all bluetooth devices on the phone), "Android OS" in the battery info screen appears to be stuck awake. Its "Keep awake" time grows continuously as long as Bluetooth is turned on.
I really can't be leaving Bluetooth turned off, and the phone is not really going to make it through the day like this.
The WiFi wakelock only happens with my works WiFi (we use a BT Hotspot,) and I can't use a static address. I've disabled all WiFi and Bluetooth location scanning.

Are there any apps for those of us not rooted for wakelocks? GSam battery monitor shows my phone is being held awake and that it is discharging more so with the screen off.

I've tried removing it with system app remover and reinstalling it, still no dice.
I have a bluesleep wakelock stuck on 100%. It won't allow any deep sleep, always awake. It will stop only when I turn off Bluetooth all together. Bluetooth and wifi scanning are both off. I have a watch, even turning it off won't work. Also froze Android wear apps. No change.... Maybe something to do with missing kernel binaries?
Here are some better battery stats. Thurs is obviously after a fresh reboot, makes no difference really.

I'm lucky that I live in an area where I have pretty consistent 4G service. My battery life with my Bionic seemed to be improving over time and prior to yesterdays update I was getting a good 12+ hours of regular life with a few bluetooth phone calls and regular push emails and by 7pm I would be at 40%. I thought that was pretty decent. Today after 4.5 hours I was down to 50% and now after 6.hours and 33 minutes I'm at 30%. In that interim period I have not made any phone calls, nor played any games, nor used the phone for anything other than checking my status of apps and battery life.
The one change I did notice was "wakelock" with the " " marks on the word included on the list of things using battery. When I queried this forum as to what this is, not an app I uploaded to the phone, I found out it is something that Moto added as a power management tool. There is no way for us that I can tell to manipulate this tool. I have a problem with having a tool put on my device that slows my battery and I can't either delete it or manipulate it. I won't root my phone.
My wife has the Lollipop update on her Samsung Galaxy S5 and not without issues. For one the update has completely screwed up her ability to connect to our home WiFi network. But a smaller less trivial problem is that the screenshot function no longer works or has been reconfigured. Any other way to screenshot of the S5 or is this function broken in Lollipop?

However, what is the dropdown notifications that appear at the top of your screen. So far, I've only seen this happen for Twitter notifications, but I wish it happened with everything. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy S5 keeps (4-5 times a day) searching for GPS signal. I have full strength signal and a white 4G at my house. It never searched for GPS with Kit Kat but since I have updated to lollipop, it seems to loose the GPS and has to search for it. It quickly finds it again and the notification goes away.

If i hit the lock button again it opens straight into the messages.If i lock again the samething happens. If i hut the home button it opens straight into messages again. Only way to get it to lock is to exit the app to home screen.

Each time I switch on I get a reminder that the update needs installing which I ignore. I would like to try and find the update and delete it from the phone, but I don't know where it is located or what it is called. I have disabled all the update options so if I can get rid of this file, no more reminders that it needs to be installed.
