My S5 keeps (4-5 times a day) searching for GPS signal. I have full strength signal and a white 4G at my house. It never searched for GPS with Kit Kat but since I have updated to lollipop, it seems to loose the GPS and has to search for it. It quickly finds it again and the notification goes away.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe other I got the popup for the AT&T Lollipop update, and since my G3 is rooted simply dismissed it and submitted a tip to AC. Since then it popped up again yesterday and I had to actually force stop the update service to get rid of it.
Last night I rebooted my phone before going to bed and this morning I woke up to find my phone is updated to 5.0.1. How could this happen? First, how can the OTA happen on a rooted phone, and second, how can it happen completely unattended!
I'm really ticked now. I had no intention of upgrading since my G3 was tweaked to perfection, running as smooth as silk and doing everything I wanted the way I wanted! I thought a rooted phone couldn't even take an OTA. I checked and of course SuperSU says there is no SU binary installed. And yes, I'm positive I was rooted! I don't get it.
The notification is always coming up. I have a Jawbone Up24 that uses GPS and I'm not sure what else would.

I have setup my Exchange work email everything has come across email contacts and calender but when i search for a contact it does not give me the option to search my works global address book. This should also work when creating a new email and typing an email address should search as well. I have just come from a HTC M8 and use to work fine.

However, Windows goes through all of my music first (which takes a while) before it finds my pictures and videos in order to download.
Any way to tell windows to skip searching through music files during this search? Just go straight to music or videos.
I have a Verizon Samsung S5 running Android 5.0, and use Microsoft Exchange Active Sync to synchronize my global address book, calendar, and email at my work.
Previously, I was able to find contacts in my global address book who were not contacts in my phone by just searching their name. If a contact was not a contact on my phone, the app would briefly say "searching on <domain>", before pulling up all contacts in my corporate address book that matched the search criteria
Now, I can only see contacts for whom I have a contact in Outlook, gmail etc versus everyone in my corporate library.
I AM able to see all contacts in my corporate library using an app called "Corporate Address Book", but this lacks many of the slick features (pictures, swipe to text) that "Contacts" has. This tells me that the problem isn't with the global address list itself, but rather with the app.
So far I have tried:
*Double-checking all of my sync settings in the account
*Double-checking that I am showing all contacts (for testing, I tried just showing contacts from my exchange account, that didn't work)
*Removing the exchange account, re-adding it
*Factory re-setting the phone
*Clearing all certificates, reloading them
Note that immediately after I factory reset my phone, the contact app briefly behaved as expected. However, while my phone was auto-downloading my apps, it quickly stopped again.
This leads me to believe that it may be caused by a particular combination of apps/settings on my phone versus a problem with Android 5/S5s in particular.
I wanted to use a new sports app today but it wouldn't work correctly because the phone won't find a GPS signal. The usual icon isn't appearing and phone just remains in searching mode. I'm sure I opted to not notify people of my location through latitude but I've used the Google sat-nav since. When I go to locations services GPS satellites is unticked, I tick it and exit but everytime I go back it is unticked?

I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?

I found snapchat had recieved 15 gb of background data in the past 3 weeks so i turned on 'limit background usage'. I did that last night and the wakelock issue was temporarily resolved. Not today though!

For one the update has completely screwed up her ability to connect to our home WiFi network. But a smaller less trivial problem is that the screenshot function no longer works or has been reconfigured. Any other way to screenshot of the S5 or is this function broken in Lollipop?

However, what is the dropdown notifications that appear at the top of your screen. So far, I've only seen this happen for Twitter notifications, but I wish it happened with everything. If i hit the lock button again it opens straight into the messages.If i lock again the samething happens. If i hut the home button it opens straight into messages again. Only way to get it to lock is to exit the app to home screen.

Each time I switch on I get a reminder that the update needs installing which I ignore. I would like to try and find the update and delete it from the phone, but I don't know where it is located or what it is called. I have disabled all the update options so if I can get rid of this file, no more reminders that it needs to be installed.
