May 7, 2015The notification is always coming up. I have a Jawbone Up24 that uses GPS and I'm not sure what else would.

View 5 RepliesNoticed that my S5 had been searching for GPS a lot lately. When I wake the phone up I notice the GPS symbol blinking at the top of the phone, within the notification drawer it says searching for GPS. Doors this for a few seconds then vanishes.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just received my S6 and loving it. Have set it all up but there is one thing i cannot get to work which i really need. I have setup my Exchange work email everything has come across email contacts and calender but when i search for a contact it does not give me the option to search my works global address book. This should also work when creating a new email and typing an email address should search as well. I have just come from a HTC M8 and use to work fine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy S5 keeps (4-5 times a day) searching for GPS signal. I have full strength signal and a white 4G at my house. It never searched for GPS with Kit Kat but since I have updated to lollipop, it seems to loose the GPS and has to search for it. It quickly finds it again and the notification goes away.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I unlock wake the screen up using the side lock button, i get a notification saying it is searching for GPS - Why does it do this every time? I havent moved locations and I'm also connected to wifi so I don't feel it is necessary to constantly check the GPS position
View 24 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to import pictures and videos from the S5 to Windows 8 desktop, I connect the USB and then right click "import pictures and videos" button.
However, Windows goes through all of my music first (which takes a while) before it finds my pictures and videos in order to download.
Any way to tell windows to skip searching through music files during this search? Just go straight to music or videos.
I have a Verizon Samsung S5 running Android 5.0, and use Microsoft Exchange Active Sync to synchronize my global address book, calendar, and email at my work.
Previously, I was able to find contacts in my global address book who were not contacts in my phone by just searching their name. If a contact was not a contact on my phone, the app would briefly say "searching on <domain>", before pulling up all contacts in my corporate address book that matched the search criteria
Now, I can only see contacts for whom I have a contact in Outlook, gmail etc versus everyone in my corporate library.
I AM able to see all contacts in my corporate library using an app called "Corporate Address Book", but this lacks many of the slick features (pictures, swipe to text) that "Contacts" has. This tells me that the problem isn't with the global address list itself, but rather with the app.
So far I have tried:
*Double-checking all of my sync settings in the account
*Double-checking that I am showing all contacts (for testing, I tried just showing contacts from my exchange account, that didn't work)
*Removing the exchange account, re-adding it
*Factory re-setting the phone
*Clearing all certificates, reloading them
Note that immediately after I factory reset my phone, the contact app briefly behaved as expected. However, while my phone was auto-downloading my apps, it quickly stopped again.
This leads me to believe that it may be caused by a particular combination of apps/settings on my phone versus a problem with Android 5/S5s in particular.
I wanted to use a new sports app today but it wouldn't work correctly because the phone won't find a GPS signal. The usual icon isn't appearing and phone just remains in searching mode. I'm sure I opted to not notify people of my location through latitude but I've used the Google sat-nav since. When I go to locations services GPS satellites is unticked, I tick it and exit but everytime I go back it is unticked?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have googled quite a bit without finding a solution. I have an MS Exchange mail account which I set to manual sync. Works fine. I have also told the SII not to sync contacts from my MS Exchange account. However, if I search for a contact in my contacts list the SII also searches on my Exchange server--which creates traffic I do not want and a lot of hits since I work for a large company. Is there a way to tell SII not search for contacts on my Exchange server?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy GPS used to work flawlessly however the past couple of days it's just not been getting a lock. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried fasterfix but it's still doing it. My position looks accurate enough on Google Maps but if I go into navigation it just says "Searching for GPS". I just moved to Vodafone and also just installed the latest Lite'ning rom, not sure if these would affect it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my contacts are in my gmail/google contacts. They all sync to my phone sort of....
My issue is searching contacts. Many of my contacts have both a name, and a company. When searching on my phone, some will search by the name, and some by the company. I need to it search by both. My BlackBerry did that no problem.
I have lots of contacts where I know the company but can't remember their name. And vice versa. I have no way of finding them on my phone if it's searching by name only.
To start with, I think the 4.4.4 update was very cool! I like how the icons looks, I can get used to the size.
I also like the Ultra Stamina Mode, it can become useful if need be but not in our daily life...the Stamina Mode is enough! I like how the watch looks now! Everything seems to be working fast and fluent...but there's a little camera thing that I don't understand...The mode where you get to see your own face (using the front camera) and the the background because you also use the back camera...I tried it today but the circle in which you face has to be, it's too small...no close pics allowed...it has to be like a "selfie-distance" to fit in it...too bad...
But then...my question was not about that...Since I updated the phone, a thin bar with a loop on it (I take it a searching bar) appears on the screen but I can't seem to make it work...I've tried to press it once, twice (like you do with the PC mouse) or even to press it long but nothing seems to happen, the loop changes its color from white to blue but nothing else...how am I supposed to make it work? or what is its use?
turned phone off wont restart just searching, before email would not respond
