But i observed the gentle swipe now takes the unlock icon only upto middle and its not so fast....its lagging a lot....So is there any thing i can do ? My question is, are there any negative effects to doing this? Normally I would think not EXCEPT my phone has rebooted in safe mode only about 3 times total after freeing it up through SBSettings. Other than those instances it has never happened.

My torch would freeze all the time; I would get this stupid hourglass at the most inopportune moments. I wiped everything and did not even restore the phone data thinking it might cause the slowdown. Since then I only installed gMaps, Voice Search, and a weather app.

It has been a few months and lag has gotten pretty bad. It is configured pretty much the same way it was at the beginning, with a few additional apps, but essentially the same.
Is there something I can do to restore the original performance, without wiping/factory reset?
I'm not sure if this is common, but my n97 is running software version 20.2.019. I bought just recently and it was working fine for the first 2 months. Then i started having problems, like the usual resets and lags.
Lately my phone has been resetting more, my music is constantly corrupted, when i do play a podcast or a song it the audio will stop playing but the progress bar says the song is still going. I have also been having issues where when i restart my phone it doesn't recognize mass memory and all my media (photos, music) are gone. Backgrounds back to the original and all my apps on mass memory are gone. I check file manager and I it says memory in use. I also recieve Disk write error, retry or lose data message everytime i'm trying to download something into mass memory.
I don't really know what's going on with my phone, i've done the resets soft and hard and even reformatted my mass memory. I still get all these issues. It sees mass memory after a soft reset but then i turn off the phone and it doesn't detect it again. Is this normal with s60 v5? Or does my phone need to go back to nokia care?
I got my curve 9900 about a month and a half ago and I haven't dropped or damaged it in any way but the battery has stated to drain itself in a few hours when fully charged (this has been happening for the past week) and phone lags and freezes on the loading clock sign. Also, when I turn it off at night and try to turn it on in the morning it's battery is dead and I have to charge it again.

This will happen for about 20 minutes, then it will go back to normal. Then after another hour of use it will do it again. I've tried restoring the phone, and I've always done regular battery pulls and nothing seems to help. I didn't download any new software or anything, it just started happening. I loved this phone for the year I had it until this started happening.

I have 110 contacts (down from 160) and my atrix will scroll smoothly through the first 70 to 80 contacts. When I get to the last few, it will get very choppy, freeze, pause, and sometimes a popup will come up asking to force close or wait. I can slow scroll through the last 40 contacts, but it is very choppy/laggy.

But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.

Here I wish to post the problems I have been experiencing after I bought Nokia 5800, maybe, someone even has a magical solution for any of them.I own it since last year's November and I've spent more time re-inserting the battery and restarting it than actually using it, so I guess I sort of regret buying this smart piece of **bleep**.
So here's the list.. (any help, tips and fixes highly appreciated. Thank you!)
The video recorder often spoils the video with lags (which are file-written).An incoming call often cannot be picked up (nothing happens, it just rings. no key response)
Often the envelope symbol for new messages remains even if all messages read.The alarm clock has failed to wake me up 3 times because of the phone hanging up, and 2 more times just because of not ringing. (This is the worst part because I can't rely on this phone. What if I'm taking an important exam tomorrow? Hanging alarm clock is not an excuse, so I'm going back to the 20th century with a green-light alarm clock besides my bed, lol.)The screen rotation is so bad. I takes 5 seconds to turn the screen and often it gets confused whether to turn right or left.
If I install a new theme and set it as default (even if it's in Phone Memory), the chance of any of these bugs occuring multiplies twice.Often starting the menu or dialler pad causes the phone to hang up and nothing happens, can't even turn it off with the button. I have to reinsert the battery.The web browser often disappears without warning. A crash I guess. This **bleep** me off.The e-mail client causes problems when I set up a mailbox. What's the point of it if I can still use e-mail after uninstalling that Nokia E-mail afterwards. weird...Accessing Settings is risky, because it often hangs up and does nothing..
The media player once was unable to get rid of already deleted files. FoRtUnAtElY I found a fix (was i supposed to do that? No!).Once I couldn't access the installed application list, no matter what. Had to do a hard reset.And many more of these Sadly I knew what to expect when I was about to buy it, because I had experience with Symbian phones. In terms of reliability and satisfaction they haven't changed a bit since the first ones.
My Admiral freezes/lags when dialing/redialing and the Touchscreen is unresponsive. Its really bad on missed calls. I can hit the green dial icon 20 times in a row and nothing happens. Finally wait for about 30-60 seconds and it will dial.
I routinely reboot. Not running alot of apps. Latest firmware. I've also noticed the browser is slow to render webpages no matter how fast the connection is.
