I got my curve 9900 about a month and a half ago and I haven't dropped or damaged it in any way but the battery has stated to drain itself in a few hours when fully charged (this has been happening for the past week) and phone lags and freezes on the loading clock sign. Also, when I turn it off at night and try to turn it on in the morning it's battery is dead and I have to charge it again.
I've had a BB Curve 9360 (I think!) for just over a year and in the last few months it has started to get really hot and run the battery down really quick. I charge it up over night every night and before lunch time it has drained completely without even using it except to maybe send the odd txt msg or check the time. I have checked that every application is closed down, turned off my WIFI and sometimes even my phone service but it seems to have no effect. It doesn't always do this it used to be once every couple of weeks and now it's more like every other day.
My blackberry restarts itself and drains the battery and I was wondering if there was a way to fix it without having to wipe the memory of my blackberry to do so?
Two weeks ago I started having problems with my battery. I would charge it overnight and then in the morning I would try to do something basic like checking my email, making a phone call, etc. and my battery would die...so badly that the phone would shut down. I tried to rectify this problem, thinking that it was the battery so I removed the battery from my older curve and placed it in the new phone. That was unsuccessful. I went for a couple of days by just constantly plugging in my phone whenever I needed to use it. In any case, the night before I went to the sprint store for service, I uninstalled all user apps thinking that it may just me an app that I downloaded that is draining my battery. Not only did I have the same problem, but then after that I lost all internet connections meaning that in the top right corner of my phone I had NO bars and only a big X. I could still make calls and receive calls and texts. I spoke to a customer service tech who then after a series of trials decided that my phone was just dead. I received just today a refurbished blackberry curve of the same type and guess what? Same problem...phone battery dead. It happened right after I reinstalled Pandora, Blackberry Messenger, and Facebook. Could one of these apps be killing my phone?
I have a Curve 9300 with some applications I downloaded from App World. I think it drains the battery too quickly as I have to recharge it every 8-9 hours without using it. Is there a way to understand if some application is using the battery at all time or or a program that lists the running the aplplications?
My bb has been annoying me for sometime because it drains the battery so quickly. I've deleted lots of apps etc I don't use to try and help, and I make sure I properly close everything down so it's not running in the background etc. Even if I put it on standby mode the battery has usually drained by about 1pm even though it's been fully charged.Me and my fiance have the same phone so I've tried his battery/charger etc. If I use his fully charged battery the same thing was happening. On saturday though, it just will not charge at all. A red light comes on and goes and that's it. If I use a fully charged battery it will still last a few hours, but I can't charge it myself. It's a bit of a nightmare as my fiance had emergency surgery last night so we need to both have working phones so he can contact me from the hospital if he needs to, and I need to take his phone home to charge at night, but it's leaving me without a working phone.
my battery drains fast and i'm actually wondering if there's some hidden applications running at the back of the program.. i already try pressing or holding the menu key to see all the applications open and running but i only have 5 applications open the messages phone home browser and the BBM i tried closing the BBM but it's still there so i'm wondering that it's normal. so now i don't know what to do. i also bought a brand new battery for my 9650 but it's the same it drains fast i can only use it for 2hrs.
I replaced my battery yesterday for my Curve 9300 (3G) smartphone. I started the day at 100% charge. After 8 hours, the battery is at 40%. My provider says there's no issues; I've not changed my useage habits and have used the phone for less than 1 hour today.
i return to the shop with this device. this phone is 5 weeks old and battery was fine but no going down quickly over past week. no apps have have been loaded on to the phone just ones which were on it facebook, Internet, twitter. battery still goes even without using it. another family member has same phone running a lot more and their battery is fine.
Twice in the past week it seems like the charger (OEM Blackberry Wall Charger) actually killed the battery when charging overnite !! Put it on charger overnite as usual and the first time it happened i looked at the phone in the morning and it said something like "shutting down due to low battery" Put it on the car charger and finally powered back up but then would not recognize the media card, had to do a battery pull to get it back. Couple days later got some wierd "OS system failure" message in the morning but this time didn't lose the media card. Both times when i left the phone it showed that it was charging. Haven't left it on overnite anymore but seems to be fine when i use the charger for a short period.
My Curve 8530 has been turning off spontaneously power cycling then the Blackberry download screen comes on. It will then fully load and when it powers back on the battery will be completely drained. It will do this in the middle of phone calls, texting and browsing.
Recently my phone freezes when I am using it, it comes up with a small black egg timer symbol and it just kills my battery, i hear this is a common blackberry problem and it sometimes resolves itself when I pull the battery out the back, but surely this cannot be healthy for the phone to constantly pull the battery out whilst its still on?
No Browser is running and I dont have any apps. I was on the phone for 15 min and my battery was half dead when I got off. Was never like that before. I've had this phone for almost 2 years. The same thing is happening with the rest of my families Blackberrys. Why is this?
I listen to audiobooks on my commute. Worked fine for a year, but battery life has faded. Now, even with a new battery charged all night, I only got 10 minutes of playback in the morning. I don't use other apps, make few calls & emails. What's my next step?
my blackberry curve 8520 white screens and drains the battery after phone calls. It won't reboot unless I plug it in. I'm not sure why - I've upgraded the software, completely wiped and restored, and I've taken the battery out, left it for 5 minutes and tried to start again. It just started doing this - I haven't had any other problems with this phone ever.
My wife's BB has suddenly (last 3 days) started discharging the battery at a silly rate full to flat within 3 hours without use. The only activity seems to be a small clock appearing in the centre of the screen intermittently which she says she hasn't noticed before. This also comes on when writing mails prior to the typed in letter appearing on the screen It has the latest soft and firmware.
I have a BlackBerry 8520 . A few days ago the battery held almost 2 days . everything was ok. now, I don't use my phone for 5 or 6 hours and my battery is dead.
If anyone out there could lend me a helping hand with this. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger. Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
I use my xperia pro 4 months with good battery performance, after installing several programs to improve de battery consumption, the battery last only 3 hours. I noted that even when de phone is off the battery drains from 100% to 0. I noted that the phone is making some operation because the zone upper the battery is medium warm after several hours y put off. I maked a total reset of the phone to the factory settings. I have taked the battery from the phone several minutes, the sd card and the operator chip, but the problem remain.
i got a iphone 4s with sprint. everything was working just fine and up to now it is still working great however i noticed the phone gets very hot and warm even when not in use .
what can i do to fix this ? should i restore it ? if so do i restore it directly from the iphone "Erase all content and settings"
or do i restore it from itunes? or should i skip the restore and take it to the apple store?
I had my X8 since Feb and got couple apps (stats of, quick settings) that improved its battery life to 3-4 days. However few wks ago after I've done some stadard updates to the alrd existing apps it started draining the battery. From time to time, after full charge, it may last 2 days but generaly 24h is a max My mobile data and wifi are usualy off and I just use it for txt'ing and short calls...Display, screen time out, sound etc are at they lowest... no automatic updates... Don't know what else could cause such a massive change. I've probably used it more for other stuff (browsing, mp3, gaming) before and it still lasted 3 days.
I upgraded my firmware on my 5800 to V50 2 days ago. Everything seemed to work fine.Yesterday I noticed the battery getting very hot for a few hours. I wasn't doing anything particularly intensive - I was surfing with Opera, doing some uploading of pictures to OVI - stuff that I quite often do without any battery problems. Overnight the battery had drained and was empty.I'm sure I did not leave any applications running overnight. The battery was fully charged before I went to bed. It's now charging, and seems to be functioning OK.Of course I don't know for sure that the firmware update is the reason for the rapid draining of the battery, or the earlier overheating. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I really want to JB my ip4, but Ive read it drains way more battery. Im just wondering if some of you could let me know how much of a difference if any you have seen on your battery since JB. I really only want to run T-lert, SBS-settings, lock info, activator, & pdanet.
Also back on my 3g i purchased Lock Info, though Im not sure how I can transfer over my puchase to my ip4 without having to pay for it again, I believe i bought it from cyndia, but i really cant remember. I would rather not open ssh, so what should i do?
When I leave it on standby for 8h I notice that it uses 40% of the battery even-though wifi and Bluetooth are off. How come? One time I left for 2-3h. Bluetooth and wifi on and even-though Bluetooth wasn't used (only gets through when a call comes in while I'm driving) and the internet just a little bit it used almost 50% by the time I was back. I'm pretty sure thats not normal.I wonder if the battery doctor app will do any improvement to that.
I upgraded my BlackBerry 9900 Bold to OS 7.1.0.694. After this update, the battery drains in a few hours. Before upgrading, Iused 2g network because the battery lasted longer. In this version can not switch networks, is always on 3G. The device heats a lot.
My battery seems to drain after i try to seach from something on the internet. I can have a full battery and in the middle of a search it will shut off and restart. when it turns back on i have no battery and the radio is off. i dont know if i should just try a new battery or a setting problem.
