My torch would freeze all the time; I would get this stupid hourglass at the most inopportune moments. I wiped everything and did not even restore the phone data thinking it might cause the slowdown. Since then I only installed gMaps, Voice Search, and a weather app.
View 3 RepliesIm on an HTC ONE with Sprint and I am getting pretty annoyed with incoming text messages freezing up my phone and taking me out of the app I'm currently in.If I am typing an email in the Yahoo Mail app and I receive an incoming text message, the phone shutters/freezes and takes me out of the Yahoo Mail app and to a home app screen. And of course the email doesn't same to a draft for some reason. Incoming text messages pauses pretty much anything Im doing the phone: Skyping, Google Hangout, Big Fish Casino, sending a different text message, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Storm 9550 has recently started getting reeeeeeally laggy at times. It'll be working fine then it will start lagging really bad. This will happen for about 20 minutes, then it will go back to normal. Then after another hour of use it will do it again. I've tried restoring the phone, and I've always done regular battery pulls and nothing seems to help. I didn't download any new software or anything, it just started happening. I loved this phone for the year I had it until this started happening.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Admiral freezes/lags when dialing/redialing and the Touchscreen is unresponsive. Its really bad on missed calls. I can hit the green dial icon 20 times in a row and nothing happens. Finally wait for about 30-60 seconds and it will dial.
I routinely reboot. Not running alot of apps. Latest firmware. I've also noticed the browser is slow to render webpages no matter how fast the connection is.
I've had my torch for 5 days and all was going well until today. Phone kept turning off and freezing up. Called support and they told me to get a new phone. Has anyone else found this to be a recurring problem?

Have noticed in forum that this is known but for a computer update you just take out this as a back up option but on a wireless update the phone is stuck if I do a battery pull and put itback after few mins it starts again and tries to update is there anyway to cancel update or solve this. tried pluggin into pc but doesnt do anything different.

I'm wondering if it's normal (new phone software bugs) or if my phone has a hardware problem. I hate to return devices. so if it's just a software bug and others are experiencing it, I'm OK with that. I did a search and nothing came up, and I haven't seen it mentioned in any review.
Its weird was doing this when I had 5.0.1 whole using youtube only. Now on 5.1 while playing bejeweled type game. The game will start to lag and then half the screen will split an freeze. Doesn't do it all the time very random. I have uninstalled and reinstalled game as well.

I've reset my phone taking the battery out etc, but it's the same situation each time I turn my phone on. Can i delete this app somehow without going on app world (as it freezes each time i try) or a way to restore to factory settings?

Also when I open the unread message it doesn't view the most recent message received. It always shows about 20 message above the recent message. Does anyone else have this issue?
View 14 Replies View RelatedOnce I take 9810 out of case, it takes 5-10 seconds to update current time and display new message if any. It also behaves similarly if it went into sleep mode and I press any button to bring it back to active mode. Sometimes hourglass is displayed and takes a while for this phone to become operational.This was not the case with 9800 or any other blackberries I had in past.Is it normal?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have updated my Torch 9810 to the new Telus 7.1 OS and it renders it unusable. I have tried reinstalling the OS several times, to no avail. It did that once with 7.0 and I reinstalled it and it worked great. I also tried to use app loader and I couldn't launch it, it said the file exists already and it stopped. I want the 7.1 features, but it seems to kill my 9810. The screen is semi functional for about 30 seconds with glitches then it freezes the screen and I can only use the cursor and the key board to do anything. I down graded back to 7.0 and now it works fine.

Everything's been working spectacularly until today.This morning I changed the security settings for the AT&T Live TV app and the Pandora app. It then asked for a reboot, which I allowed. The phone turns off, back on to the reboot screen (with the BB logo and "BlackBerry") along with the reboot loading bar on the bottomThe thing is, the bar loads completely and that's it, it stays frozen there Nothing else loads. I took out the battery and retried. Several times. Now I am just letting it sit there, load bar completely loaded, having done nothing but be frozen for about an hour now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to update from 6.0 Bundle 2342 to 6.0 Bundle 2647 and during the installation, it will update to a certain module and then freeze. An hour later, I will get a pop up that says there is a problem with my internet connection and the options to retry or cancel. I hit retry and the update will run a little further, then freeze again. At this point it's been 3 hours, and I've gotten as far as 357 of 578. This is the first time I've tried to update, and I did a back up right before I attempted this update.

I recently updated to 6.0 bundle 2647 and since updating I have had several random freezes of the device while doing nothing. I keep the device locked with a short password, and then in a holster most of the time. I have had the situation happen about once a day, very random, where I would pull it out of the holster and try to access it by pressing unlock or sliding it open and nothing works. No response, just a display of the lock screen (no pwd input) and clock of the time when it froze. This is very frustrating and I'm getting ready to downgrade to the previous version.When it occurs, it's usually been idle, not running any apps.
I can't get passed my reboot screen, I have tried taking out the battery many times, tried downloading the software update and also tried putting in the original software from AT&T and it still freezes on the reboot screen near the end. I downloaded a software called "blackberry Swiss army kit" and I still got nothing done. Everything installs but when it reboots its freezes at the same spot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9800. This device freezes up multiple times per day. I've had it for 1 1/2 years now, and has done this since about 6 months in. Used to happen only occasionally, then more often. When I upgraded the software it seemed to stop for awhile, then started again, and is now not only annoying, but is preventing me from doing my work. It has frozen up already 4 times in a 5 hour time period. When this happens, I cannot do anything, access emails, make calls, etc. I can receive calls, but cannot disconnect once the call is complete. The freeze goes on for between 5 and 10 minutes at a time. Sometimes (but not always) once its done, an error message comes on screen that says: "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(1637) is not responding, process terminated. " The number (1637) is always different. I do not use BBM, and have tried to see if I can delete it from my phone, but it doesn't seem that I can. I am up to date on all software.
