Oct 29, 2012About once a day, on average, my BB Torch locks up. The only way for me to unfreeze is to remove the battery and reinsert. It does not respond to attempts to power off, etc.

Jul 2, 2012I downloaded an theme app and reset my device as it says. After that, any icon you touch, bar text, makes the phone crash. I've reset my phone taking the battery out etc, but it's the same situation each time I turn my phone on. Sep 1, 2011Once I take 9810 out of case, it takes 5-10 seconds to update current time and display new message if any. It also behaves similarly if it went into sleep mode and I press any button to bring it back to active mode. Sometimes hourglass is displayed and takes a while for this phone to become operational.This was not the case with 9800 or any other blackberries I had in past.Is it normal?

Mar 15, 2012I have updated my Torch 9810 to the new Telus 7.1 OS and it renders it unusable. I have tried reinstalling the OS several times, to no avail. It did that once with 7.0 and I reinstalled it and it worked great. I also tried to use app loader and I couldn't launch it, it said the file exists already and it stopped. I want the 7.1 features, but it seems to kill my 9810. The screen is semi functional for about 30 seconds with glitches then it freezes the screen and I can only use the cursor and the key board to do anything. I down graded back to 7.0 and now it works fine.

May 25, 2011I've had my Torch since early January, and there is no water or physical damage to it. Everything's been working spectacularly until today.This morning I changed the security settings for the AT&T Live TV app and the Pandora app. It then asked for a reboot, which I allowed. The phone turns off, back on to the reboot screen (with the BB logo and "BlackBerry") along with the reboot loading bar on the bottomThe thing is, the bar loads completely and that's it, it stays frozen there Nothing else loads. I took out the battery and retried. Several times. Now I am just letting it sit there, load bar completely loaded, having done nothing but be frozen for about an hour now.

Aug 3, 2011I tried to update from 6.0 Bundle 2342 to 6.0 Bundle 2647 and during the installation, it will update to a certain module and then freeze. An hour later, I will get a pop up that says there is a problem with my internet connection and the options to retry or cancel. I hit retry and the update will run a little further, then freeze again. At this point it's been 3 hours, and I've gotten as far as 357 of 578. This is the first time I've tried to update, and I did a back up right before I attempted this update.

Jan 10, 2011Firstly I have 2 icons that flash intermittently in the top right of my homescreen - 'DA' and 'ENG'ould someone please advise what they mean, and why they are thereI have been using the phone for 2 months, and they have only appeared in the last week or 2Also, the phone is very slow to unlock, etc - there is a lag. Dec 3, 2012I have a number of icons/programs on my Torch that are not showing up for some reason. Now of course I've tried selecting "Show All" from the BlackBerry menu, yet none of the missing programs show up.It first started a few months ago, where my Twitter app stopped showing up (even though in BlackBerry App World it showed as installed, yet was no where to be found). I managed a work-around, by using UberSocial, so I didn't bother looking into it. Then I tried downloading Hoot Suite, with again the same problem; App World said it was installed, but the actual program was no where. Now I just had a third program do the same thing, but this one's more important. The actual app for BlackBerry App World is now not showing up; so not only can't I use its barcode reader, but I obviously can't download any programs, or update any.

I recently updated to 6.0 bundle 2647 and since updating I have had several random freezes of the device while doing nothing. I keep the device locked with a short password, and then in a holster most of the time. I have had the situation happen about once a day, very random, where I would pull it out of the holster and try to access it by pressing unlock or sliding it open and nothing works. No response, just a display of the lock screen (no pwd input) and clock of the time when it froze. This is very frustrating and I'm getting ready to downgrade to the previous version.When it occurs, it's usually been idle, not running any apps.

Feb 10, 2012I can't get passed my reboot screen, I have tried taking out the battery many times, tried downloading the software update and also tried putting in the original software from AT&T and it still freezes on the reboot screen near the end. I downloaded a software called "blackberry Swiss army kit" and I still got nothing done. Everything installs but when it reboots its freezes at the same spot.

Apr 5, 2012I have a Torch 9800. This device freezes up multiple times per day. I've had it for 1 1/2 years now, and has done this since about 6 months in. Used to happen only occasionally, then more often. When I upgraded the software it seemed to stop for awhile, then started again, and is now not only annoying, but is preventing me from doing my work. It has frozen up already 4 times in a 5 hour time period. When this happens, I cannot do anything, access emails, make calls, etc. I can receive calls, but cannot disconnect once the call is complete. The freeze goes on for between 5 and 10 minutes at a time. Sometimes (but not always) once its done, an error message comes on screen that says: "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(1637) is not responding, process terminated. " The number (1637) is always different. I do not use BBM, and have tried to see if I can delete it from my phone, but it doesn't seem that I can. I am up to date on all software.
