Galaxy S5 :: Static On Screen When Phone Lags Occasionally
Apr 16, 2014
I just got my new S5 today. One weird thing I'm noticing is static on screen when the phone lags occasionally. It doesn't happen very much, but it's jarring to look at.
I'm wondering if it's normal (new phone software bugs) or if my phone has a hardware problem. I hate to return devices. so if it's just a software bug and others are experiencing it, I'm OK with that. I did a search and nothing came up, and I haven't seen it mentioned in any review.
Every time I listen to music or videos, without my ear buds, everything comes out with static. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have a galaxy s6, and I have had it less than a 3 weeks.
Its weird was doing this when I had 5.0.1 whole using youtube only. Now on 5.1 while playing bejeweled type game. The game will start to lag and then half the screen will split an freeze. Doesn't do it all the time very random. I have uninstalled and reinstalled game as well.
I had just been using my Nokia Lumia 1020 with the new 8.1 update. I had left open a webpage I was going to go back to (running on wifi, not my data). Pushed the power button to wake it up and now all I see or can do is view a static screen. It flashes on and off by itself ever so often. What should I do?
Received my SH-G920I (unlocked) and for the last 2 days I faced three occasional reboots. Once it was when phone was idle, then when I try to unlock it and once it was in the middle of web browsing.
It looks like "fast" reboot, when only "Samsung" logo displayed briefly and phone is quickly coming back to working mode. Sometimes after such reboot screen and soft buttons aren't responding and I have to turn it off/on with power button. Them it back to normal...
My torch would freeze all the time; I would get this stupid hourglass at the most inopportune moments. I wiped everything and did not even restore the phone data thinking it might cause the slowdown. Since then I only installed gMaps, Voice Search, and a weather app.
Recently got galaxy s6. I am facing one issue, my front camera lags in no effect mode especially in low light. As soon as i click wkde mode lag goes away. With 3rd party app front camera is not lagging.
I have a strange problem with my Z2 6503 android 5.1.1 ,While I'm using internet and the network coverage is EDGE my screen touch go crazy and lags then it stop response, so I manualy set the network to WCDMA to avoid such problem, How can i fix this issue ?
From yesterday i observed my home screen unlock button lags. Usually a gentle swipe will unlock the scree. But i observed the gentle swipe now takes the unlock icon only upto middle and its not so fast....its lagging a lot....So is there any thing i can do ? Is there anywhere i can set the touch sensitivity? its very irritating when the phone wont get unlocked with a gentle swipe...
I have an android wear watch. G watch R. Never had any issues with it. Since getting S6 the phone will occasionally disconnect for a short while and the reconnect.
Everything is working fine after Belle update but when I go to menu>settings>installations>already instaled - the screen just freezes and the only buttons that work is the camera button, menu button and power buton. When this happens, I turn off my phone and turn it on again and everything is normal, but the problem still exists.
I have my Xperia Ray updated to 4.1.B.0.431 just after I bought it, it was working fine at first. However, not knowing when did the problem start, the screen occasionally turns on and off automatically as if I press the power button. The screen turns on and off for exactly 5 times every time and this repeats for like every 10mins. The problem will solve if I restart my phone but the problem comes again whenever it likes. Could this related to any apps (task killer, etc...) I have installed? Or some bugs or something in the system? This could seriously drain my battery flat if the problem left not noticed.
I just restored 23k messages from my old Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant (T959) onto my new Galaxy SIIX using the SMS Restore & Backup App as recommended here and now it lags for 10s everytime I hit 'back' to get out of a conversation and back into the main window.
I occasionally get error messages on my home screen, it it usually for bbm, and then none of my messaging works, but just recently had one for app phone I think the error number was 126.
Once the error message appears I have to take the battery out as the phone freezes up, how do I fix this? Have checked for software updates for the apps and the device and nothing is available.
My phone (Z5 compact) occasionally rebooted itself without reason.I decided reinstall software based on information what i found in the internet. Everything went good till Google account verification.I used only one Google account in my phone, that is also last synchronized account. The problem is phone says: "It's not one of that phone users account".
Im on an HTC ONE with Sprint and I am getting pretty annoyed with incoming text messages freezing up my phone and taking me out of the app I'm currently in.If I am typing an email in the Yahoo Mail app and I receive an incoming text message, the phone shutters/freezes and takes me out of the Yahoo Mail app and to a home app screen. And of course the email doesn't same to a draft for some reason. Incoming text messages pauses pretty much anything Im doing the phone: Skyping, Google Hangout, Big Fish Casino, sending a different text message, etc.
I unlocked my phone today to find that the screen had some very thin/fine rainbow colored vertical distortion lines on the screen. They seemed to have been pulsating (as if someone was holding another electromagnetic object close to it or something) and it looked like static distortion. I checked multiple screens and apps and they all resulted in the same discolored distortion lines.
I had to completely power down my phone and turn it back on. After that, it was OK. First time I had this type of experience so far...
I used to set up static ip in my previous device L925 in the wifi section when it was running win 10 technical preview. But I am unable to see that feature in my L950. Do i need to install insider preview in my L950 to get static ip. Phone is currently running 10586.29.
Whenever I call someone or get called, the person on the other end receives nothing but static/disturbance. This is weird as my phone worked perfectly fine before. I can hear my caller perfectly fine, but they cannot hear me. This is high volume rubbish noise, when I shout, a little of voice makes it through, but it's hardly noticeable. Here are a few things I tried:
- Speech recorder: works fine. So it can't be the microphone
- Using headset: My headset filters silence and only 'sends out' voice when it recognizes noise. When Im silent, there is no static. As soon as I speak and the headset registers (and sends) voice, the static on the other end returns.
My Z3+ have facing this issue, screen flickering/static. And this is constantly all the while. Actually I did experienced this on my previous Z3. This is totally made me lose faith on SONY mobile.
Just got my phone today but there is an odd issue where every so often a little flicker happens. It's appears kind of like static across the whole screen but all colours. It only happs for a tiny fraction of a second.
I've had a Nokia E7 for about half a year. it worked pretty well until the screen got cracked. It worked fine for a while, then the touch screen stopped responding. I got it fixed and it was working perfectly fine for about 2 weeks. i was using it one day, and it was eprfectly fine. I set the phone aside for a few minutes, then came back to it. I saw the whole screen was showing static, like when your tv has bad reception. i tried turning it off and on again, but it did not clear it up. I tried calling my number, and the phone rang. After about 10 minutes of curses and profanities, it cleared up again. About half an hour later, it became static again. Once again, after about 10 minutes, it cleared up. That night, i plugged the E7 into the charger, and the next morning, it was displaying static once again. i turned it off, intending to go see the shop. When i went, i turned the phone on, and there was no static. When he was checking it over, it went back to static for about 5 seconds, before returning to normal. When i left, i had walked about 50 metres when i reached to my phone to check the time. it was displaying static yet again. This was was about 5 hours ago and it has been displaying static since.
I have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. : - I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ? - I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ? - My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ? - Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?

My Lumia 800 has gone crazy. This is a replacement phone for the last Lumia that I got that turned off one day and then didn't turn back on. I have had this one for only three weeks.Last night at about 9pm, before I got any New Year messages the screen of my phone changed to a multi coloured static looking screen and I couldn't do anything to fix it.I could hear messages coming through occasionally and the phone rang a few times but I was unable to answer it due to not being able to see what I was doing.I have tried doing a soft reset to no avail and I have also drained the battery til it went dead and have recharged it, but have not had any joy with it today either. This phone has not been dropped or damaged in any way, so I have no idea what is going on.
I was watching a video on MX Player not too long ago, and it seems to have resulted in a permanent colourful static for the phone. I can't really tell if it's doing anything, but when I go through the motions of resetting it or booting into bootloader, the screen does not change at all.
Interestingly the volume buttons are still working, and if I press the area of the screen where I think the buttons are (e.g., the back/home/programs buttons) I get the right vibrations. Which leads me to believe my screen is broken, and that it's a hardware fault. I'm hoping pretty hard this isn't the case, as my phone is only two months old and it was a replacement for a 6 month old Nexus 4 which had stopped charging.
my nokia e71x recently started giving me a very static-y signal when making or receiving calls. my voice apparently sounds fine to whoever i'm talking to but what i hear in the earpiece is full of static, as if the signal is very weak. this is happening no matter where i am (even in places where i know the signal is strong). i'm in new york city. the speaker appears to be ok when doing other things, e.g. watching video clips on Internet. it's just phone calls that sound **bleep**.this just started in the last few days. it's possible the phone was exposed to heat, sand and (maybe) water as we were recently on vacation, but other than the bad sound everything works and looks fine.my contract is about up so i may just replace it anyway, but i'd like to know if this is fixable. i tried removing the battery and sim card, making sure all were clean and dry and putting them back.
I've got a Bold 9900 and just recently, I have been getting a static clicking sound when I make a phone call. It goes away for a while when I do a battery pull but comes back after a couple of days. I'm running OS 7.1 Bundle 1149 (c7.1.0.342, Platform 5.1.0.276).
