HTC One M7 :: Incoming Text Message Temporarily Freezes / Shutters / Lags Phone
Aug 1, 2014
Im on an HTC ONE with Sprint and I am getting pretty annoyed with incoming text messages freezing up my phone and taking me out of the app I'm currently in.If I am typing an email in the Yahoo Mail app and I receive an incoming text message, the phone shutters/freezes and takes me out of the Yahoo Mail app and to a home app screen. And of course the email doesn't same to a draft for some reason. Incoming text messages pauses pretty much anything Im doing the phone: Skyping, Google Hangout, Big Fish Casino, sending a different text message, etc.
My torch would freeze all the time; I would get this stupid hourglass at the most inopportune moments. I wiped everything and did not even restore the phone data thinking it might cause the slowdown. Since then I only installed gMaps, Voice Search, and a weather app.
I have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. : - I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ? - I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ? - My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ? - Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?
Device info Your carrier: Rogers (Canada) Model info and OS version: - Curve 8900, OS v5.0.0.509
Apps and free space File free before and after a battery remove/replace : - 42456184 Bytes (41 MB) before and 33852330 Bytes (32 Mb) now (i rebooted 1 day ago)
Did a battery pull fix your issue? - Never
Apps installed and their version if possible.: - I have a lot, Facebook, Twitter, BBM, MSN and 15-20 others
My Storm 9550 has recently started getting reeeeeeally laggy at times. It'll be working fine then it will start lagging really bad. This will happen for about 20 minutes, then it will go back to normal. Then after another hour of use it will do it again. I've tried restoring the phone, and I've always done regular battery pulls and nothing seems to help. I didn't download any new software or anything, it just started happening. I loved this phone for the year I had it until this started happening.
I'm currently using E72-1, V 031.023. A lot of times, when I get an incoming calls, my phone freezes once I click the accept button, it freezes for like 20 seconds, then either accepts the call, or hangs up. Also, when I dial a number using the keypad, there is a delay, like, it takes 1-3 seconds between each number I press to display on the screen. I tried soft resetting, hard resetting, both fixes the issue for the 1st few hours, then both issues happen again!

One of my contacts has sent me 2 text messages and I get the audible notification of the message and a time stamp, but only a "white bubble" with no message. I have contacted my service provider and they have conducted tests on my phone and I can send and receive messages. why the messages sent from this one contact are not coming through?
When ever i send a reply text message to somebody who has text me already and i go about it by going into my inbox and selecting the message, my phone freezes for ages, and then i have to press the text message that i have received that i want to reply to and wait AGES for it to load up. Then when i finally have typed a reply, the screen goes back to the inbox (as its supposed to i think) and then freezes again and i have to wait ages again for it load its self back up
Also, if i receive multi message at one, the only way i can read them is to access the a message and then open it and click the arrows at the top to navigate to the next message in line. Also, if i need to access a message further down the list, thats off the screen, i cant just scroll down, i have to click on a message and use the navigation arrows at the top to get into that text, otherwise when i scroll down the screen goes black and freezes.
I find myself pressing the red button alot to take me back to the home screen to start again. It just seems a long way round of accessing things. Its fine if i go to new message and send it through that way, it just seems very long winded!Does anyone else have a similar problem? Could it be something to do with the amount of texts in my inbox (currently at 3304, 2 sent, 2 drafts and 25 in my folders?
I have a Blackberry Bold 9930 with Verizon. About a month ago, I started experiencing this issue. When I receive texts, and there are multiple texts from the same number, the thext screen freezes and no matter what I do, I can not scroll UP to see the previous messages. Touch screen or the touch pad does not work. You can visibly see the time stamps changing to previous messages but the messages do not scroll at all. You can still exit text messages and all other scroll works fine. I have had to hard reboot to get rid of the issue. Then it returns after a week or so later. I have updated the software via VZ when they sent an operating systems update.
i am having a bit of an issue with my lg vx8500 everytime i go to write a text message it freezes and then restarts it also does the same thing when i try to save a new contact or save ringtones and even sometimes when i make phone calls i was wondering if you knew what might be causing this and if you think that reflashing it might fix the problem.
How can I change the color of my incoming message textbox??? I'd like to change the color from white to another color coz it's kinda hard to read and review the message with a white background.. No problem with the upcoming message because it will change according to the theme I'd set up..but this one is the problem..
My Admiral freezes/lags when dialing/redialing and the Touchscreen is unresponsive. Its really bad on missed calls. I can hit the green dial icon 20 times in a row and nothing happens. Finally wait for about 30-60 seconds and it will dial.
I routinely reboot. Not running alot of apps. Latest firmware. I've also noticed the browser is slow to render webpages no matter how fast the connection is.
how I can change the incoming text message from running continuously to a once off notification sound and screen icon in the normal way for all other cellphones I have had
my phone constantly is on vibrate. no incoming call ring tones or text message notifications. turned it on and off and no, it's not on the vibrate option
A couple of weeks ago I changed the default ringtone for my incoming text messages. It would work for some contacts but not others so I changed it on the individual contacts by going into their information. I have now tried changing it again but it does not work on one of my contacts. Text messages from other individuals work fine but the one I'm having problems with will only vibrate not ring. I've changed it in the default, I've changed it in their individual account info -- but nothing.
I found another bug that is recreatable. If you are in the middle of sending a text message and using the voice input and talking to the voice input when a call comes in, the voice input is abandoned, the "answer/ignore" screen shows for a second. But before you can answer, the keyboard comes back up and covers it up, so you can't answer the call. And then the keyboard is stuck on the screen. "back" doesn't make it go away (so you still can't answer the call). Even if you go to the home screen, the keyboard is still on the screen. Stock phone, not rooted, all updates applied, etc.
I have a LG G3 recently updated to Android 5.x. While texting yesterday I noticed that if I was typing (had the keyboard showing) and an incoming message arrived within my conversation, that the keyboard is forcibly closed. Thinking it was my built in LG messenger app, I downloaded the Go SMS Pro, Handcent SMS, Chomps, and Google Messenger apps. They all behave the same way.
I then tested my wife's iPhone. When she gets incoming messages they just show up, without forcing the keyboard to close.
So, is this the way it is supposed to work? I have never noticed it before. Could this be a LG upgrade-to-Lollipop issue?
Why when i have my headphones in the text message sound as well as incoming call ringtone play thru the speaker on the phone opposed to the headphones?
yet the key sounds when typing play through headphones, as well as the little man who politely reads a new message?
In the middle of BMM-ing I lose the cursor - I can still type, but I don't see any text appear as I type, but once I hit enter, it delivers whatever I typed. It's very annoying!Only way I've been able to get it back, is to end the chat, which is annoying if you ever want to refer back to what someone typed (like a phone number or something).
Also, I get a phantom new msg red light when receiving multiple msgs at once -I have already tried many battery pulls, restarting and re-installing.
Ive been trying to log-in to my blackberry onto Blackberry Protect, it will stay a while on Verifying email then it says: the Blackberry ID service is temporarily unavailable.I AM able to go to blackberry.com and on the top-right sign into MyBlackberry with no problem Also tried to download some Applications, when I get the screen to log on - keep getting ANother error. says email contains incorrect info. So I tried to register with a different email with Only letter and numbers...
When I get an incoming call I get a message saying "unfortunately phone stopped"
I have done a factory reset cleared all the caches and it is still there.
What I did narrow it down to is the priority calling in the sound setting if I go to interruptions then select priority interruptions and leave "incoming calls" unchecked I am able to get and answer calls. As soon as I check incoming calls it gives me the phone stopped error.
This is my first post to this forum and i am really hoping for some help. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Phone. It is about 7 months old and has developed a really annoying and frustrating fault over the past few days - progressively no getting worse by the hour it would seem. The phone freezes after receiving a text, phone call, internet usage or just generally pressing one of the function buttons. Some times if you wait long enough it does free itself but more often than not it will end up me removing the battery to reset the handset. Nothing appears to work properly on it anymore - the battery appears to drain within hours of charge. Really fed up with it now. Carphone Warehouse and Orange are blamming each other ( no change there). Yes i can take it to a repair centre who will either do it on site ro send away. I have completed a soft reset but has made no difference. I am now tempted to do a complete hard reset once backing up my contents etc
On my 9800, I have this recurring issue when a SMS/MMS message comes in my phone pretty much freezes up until my phone stops vibrating. Also when I open the unread message it doesn't view the most recent message received. It always shows about 20 message above the recent message. Does anyone else have this issue?
I just got my new S5 today. One weird thing I'm noticing is static on screen when the phone lags occasionally. It doesn't happen very much, but it's jarring to look at.
I'm wondering if it's normal (new phone software bugs) or if my phone has a hardware problem. I hate to return devices. so if it's just a software bug and others are experiencing it, I'm OK with that. I did a search and nothing came up, and I haven't seen it mentioned in any review.
I updated by defy 2 weeks b4 with froyo through local service center in my region Nothing works fine in my phone now !Freezes often and restarts whenever I receive a incoming call.Even I tried a hard reset still the same?
