OH has updated my N8 to belle and I have done something to it!
When ever anyone phones or I phone anyone it brings up the same picture out of my gallery how do I get rid off it?
I recently just got my N900 back from Nokia USA repair on the 21st of August 2010. Upon receiving it back, they notified me that they had flashed my phone and installed the latest software updates on it per privacy policy, which is understandable. However, all was fine until I tried making a call, when I realized that the screen no longer automatically shuts off / turns on when either placing it or removing it from my face.When dialing a phone number, the screen automatically shuts off and I have to unlock it from the bottom. It is unresponsive to touches, etc, until I unlock it.
When the screen is on during a phone call, it doesn't shut off unless I lock it from the bottom.When receiving calls, the screen never lights on and I can't see who is calling me unless I unlock the phone first.I have tried flashing it with the latest Maemo 5 USA image, but the problem still persists.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSuppose, I have, under 1 name, multiple contacts (each with different Label Pic, ie, phone, telephone pic etc.). On calling or receiving calls, same Pic (ie of Mobile) is displayed against all those numbers.
View 1 Replies View Relatedsince updating the sofware (knew I shouldn't have done that!) I can no longer dial people in the contacts by name, it is like the phone is searching a different contact list than before but I only have one contacts list.
View 1 Replies View Relatedbefore update I could use smart dialing (meaning by entering member/letters while dialing phone was searching matching contacts and displaying the ones that do match). After update this stopped working. I still have an option to turn smart dialing on/off (when turning on/off I see a change on the screen - the part where numbers show up gets bigger when smart dialing turned off) but there are no suggestions displayed when entering numbers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my Photon about 6 weeks and have been having issues where people can not call me they get message that phone is not available. Also when I am having those issues the phone will not dial anybody just stays on dialing screen and does not call. Also texts do not come through during that time.If I reboot then I can dial and receive calls for a half day or sometimes a whole day.My phone does get the random reboots started on day one and usually once or twice a day but NEVER has happened while I was actively using it.I have done factory reset. Pulled battery and replaced.
My phone was updated with the latest firware on the day I got it and I check for updates regularlyI do have an SD card in it that was new never in another phone that was formatted by this phone. I have tried using it without card and with card makes no difference.I have started rebooting every morning but I still miss calls.At first I had Google Voice on it, I thought that might be the problem I unloaded it unlinked my google voice account and then did factory reset but that has not helped.I do not tether or use the hotspot feature. I do connect using Wifi when I am at home for internet access.About the only thing I can tell is that it seems to lose phone access after a good amount of web surfing whether it is wifi or 3g. I just bought a brand the N8 a couple of days ago, and went to change the caller photo on one of my friends, so that I'd see his ugly face when he was calling me. I'm not sure how I messed this up but that now everyone in my phonebook has his face stuck to the background of the call-screen whenever I call someone or receive a call.
I tried to just rename the photo but then when I tried to make a call my phone would deny it. I simply could not make a call from it. How wasted is that?
So I rename the photo, reboot my phone, and I'm still calling everyone with his ugly face stuck to my ear.
When I try to resize a photo using the editing function in the Gallery, I'm unable to save the resized photo.I'll do the resize, tap on the "check mark" and then press on the "memory card" icon to save and nothing happens.If anyone can tell me how to save a resized photo as a copy for emailing while preserving the original large photo, that would be great.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with receiving calls. Approximately ones a day, a few seconds after my phone is starting to ring, I try to open it (to answer) and it's stuck! And then I can't do anything, except of take out the battery. On the screen I can the phone is still ringing. The software is last version software.

Until you turn the handset off, then back on (Note not an 8 seconds, buzz 3 times reset) at which time they flood through..The strange thing is unlike when your phone has been turned off and then on and all of the messages come in time stamped as being "xx:xx" for when you turned it on these have times as if they have come in but not actually shown as being received.

Everytime i have tried doing something different to get it to work it only ever works once or twice before failing forever.My partner has never had a problem.

When launching camera I can record video without any problem but when switching to photo mode nothing appear, it enter the interface to take the photo but no image appear on the screen. Vignetting is a pretty powerful tool that can help isolate subjects and seems to be a bit of an oversight on Nokia's part to leave it out, considering how good the cams are and the editors have often a good amount of adjustments that save me from running to Lightroom or Silver Efex Pro all the time.
I synced my N8 with windows media player after the anna update but couldn't see any pictures in the photo app. Pictures are already on the device inside "pictures" (not "images") folder in E: drive. After playing a bit, i figured out that photos app only read the pictures inside "images" folder of E: drive. Is there any possible way to make photo app read files in the "pictures" folder or make Windows Media Player sync with the "images" folder instead of "pictures" folder.

I have a bluetooth hands-free system built into my car. To listen to music from my phone, I plug a cord from the headphone jack on on the phone to an auxilliary RCA jack in my car. It's the standard way any MP3 player would plug into my car.However, when plugged in like this, I cannot use my bluetooth hands free system to either send or receive calls. Once a call has failed to be placed or received, I then have trouble with calls even if I unplog the cord from the headphone jack.Any ideas? Am I using an incorrect setting somewhere? Is there insufficient phone memory to handle this?
I have not had any replies to a lot of SMS messages for a few days. Then I turned the phone off and back on and a load of messages were delivered within a few minutes

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone won't let me make or receive any calls, like when i go to call someone it comes up with ringing screen but then turns off and same for when people ring me ; it will come up with the screen telling me they're ringing but if i answer it just turns itself off. i have tried resetting it but it doesnt work - all my software is up to date so i cant update it. it was fine saturday morning but sunday morning wouldnt let me ring.
