My N8 has suddenly decided to stop receiving SMS messages... Until you turn the handset off, then back on (Note not an 8 seconds, buzz 3 times reset) at which time they flood through..The strange thing is unlike when your phone has been turned off and then on and all of the messages come in time stamped as being "xx:xx" for when you turned it on these have times as if they have come in but not actually shown as being received.

When ever anyone phones or I phone anyone it brings up the same picture out of my gallery how do I get rid off it?
I just received my N8 from repair and they changed the main chip for it with the newest software. Now it gives me black screen when calling / receiving calls. It also does this when clock has alert on.I can turn the screen on with the "unlocking slide" but this in general is extremely annoying and pointless. I was thinking to take it back to repair shop, but wanted to ask about this first here.

I like NOKIA but this problem irritates me whenever i am receiving a call.
Suppose, I have, under 1 name, multiple contacts (each with different Label Pic, ie, phone, telephone pic etc.). On calling or receiving calls, same Pic (ie of Mobile) is displayed against all those numbers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I upgraded to Nokia Belle on my N8, my phone will stop receiving calls, messages, emails and can't even browse the internet. It behaves like I'm not connected my mobile network. I will have to switch the phone off and switch it back on to be able to receive calls again. Every other installed applications work so far they don't need to access the network. The strange thing is that, you won't notice anything. If you are someone that receives calls a lot, you'll just notice that you haven't received any calls or SMS or emails. This happens everyday, sometimes 3 times a day.

And then I can't do anything, except of take out the battery. On the screen I can the phone is still ringing. The software is last version software.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIt looks to me that the email on Nokia devices (tried both E51 and E72) is no good and cannot be used. I've tried using the Nokia Messaging on the previous E51 which worked for a while but stopped working out of a sudden after some time. I got the new E72, same story. I select check email and it doesn't download anything like there is no new message in the mailbox, though there is. Read a lot of posts on the forum and it's not just my problem. Is there a reason for that? Is there a paid alternative? I mean the E72 is marketed as a business phone, but looks to me that doing business with it it's out of the question. The phone is really great, too bad email issues makes it almost impossible to use it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy E72 suddenly does not vibrate or gives out a tone upon receiving a SMS.I checked the profile I used and the vibration and message tone were checked.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings but the problem still persist.Not sure where the problem lies though. When people call me, my phone does vibrate and the ring tone plays.but if I remember correctly, the notification light may or may not work at times when receiving an sms and the screen does not lit up upon receiving it too (if I'm correct, not sure now since I didn't notice when the problem occurs). This only applies when receiving SMSes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a nokia 5530 xpressmusic phone, and im not receiving any texts. I only receive texts if im sending one or i restart my phone. Any ideas how to fix this? I've restarted it and done all that stuff to wipe it and stuff.. but its still not working, but my old sony phone works perfect for receiving texts so it cant be the network =/, any ideas?Sorry, ive rather wrote this out really quickly because im annoyed because this is the second time this phone has screwed up on me. And i really cant be bothered with the hole getting a new one and stuff!
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have nokia 5800, it doesnt receive sms after i use it for a week , then i have to replace it wid some other sim, doesn matter of same network or different, and then it starts workin fine.
when the problem persists, i turn it off and when i turn it on, i receive all the messages at once, even when network is not ready. after replacing wid some other sim and then putting back ma sim into ma cell, it starts workin fine again until a week goes and then again the same problem persists. i tried restoring factory settings , even resetted ma cell, but the same problem persists.
I love my Nokia 5800XM phone. I"m still trying to learn it all, but I have one problem. When someone sends me a picture it comes in very small. I don't know why. When I save the picture it's that same size. I would love for someone to help me with this. What's the point of haveing a camra phone or having people send you pictures if you can't see them?

When I call it just says their is no service at this number. I know I have service because I can send texts to other people and call other people. My phone is a Nokia C3 also.

Upon receiving it back, they notified me that they had flashed my phone and installed the latest software updates on it per privacy policy, which is understandable. However, all was fine until I tried making a call, when I realized that the screen no longer automatically shuts off / turns on when either placing it or removing it from my face.When dialing a phone number, the screen automatically shuts off and I have to unlock it from the bottom. It is unresponsive to touches, etc, until I unlock it.
When the screen is on during a phone call, it doesn't shut off unless I lock it from the bottom.When receiving calls, the screen never lights on and I can't see who is calling me unless I unlock the phone first.I have tried flashing it with the latest Maemo 5 USA image, but the problem still persists.
I have always used the Nokia Email client on my N97 Mini, it's worked fine for some time.Last night my N97 mini notified me that an update was available, which I accepted and it downloaded and installed Nokia Email messenger 10.2.0.4 After the install I turned the phone on and off again, and now it will not receive new email - specifically my 2 Windows Live accounts: @live.com & @live.co.uk I went to the page http://email.nokia.com and re-downloaded and re-installed the same version, turned my phone on and off again and still nothing. It says the email client is online and I have tried forcing it to sync by going to "Options" then "Send/Receive" but it simply isn't working.

- from the phone I have forced to restore settings from the server.
- phone starts syncing, and downloads correctly Gmail headers
- nothing happens, as for the POP3 account
So, I have deleted and re-created the POP3 account 3 times, still no email incoming.
Had my N85 6 months now and have been very happy with it, until this morning.When I try to make a call, or press "answer" to receive a call, it switches itself off.Same when accessing voicemail.Has anyone else had this problem and if so, if there a solution?
View 7 Replies View Relatedmy N97 mini 11.0.045 works fine except that the backlight does not activate when a new SMS is received. It should work the same way as for an incoming voice call.In the meantime I'm using Best Reminder to activate the backlight after 30 seconds (reminds you every 30seconds after this point until you acknowledge the message).Is it just my phone that exhibits this behaviour or is it a common issue?

I have recently purchased a Nokia X3, but the problem is that Whenever i recieve a text i only 'get it' 1 hour later.So the phone will ring/vibrate (for the first time) for the text message but when i look at the message the time will be from 1 hour before. So the phone says the message is from 17:48 but i couldn't see the message and the phone doesn't ring/vibrate until 18:48.

I have a bluetooth hands-free system built into my car. To listen to music from my phone, I plug a cord from the headphone jack on on the phone to an auxilliary RCA jack in my car. It's the standard way any MP3 player would plug into my car.However, when plugged in like this, I cannot use my bluetooth hands free system to either send or receive calls. Once a call has failed to be placed or received, I then have trouble with calls even if I unplog the cord from the headphone jack.Any ideas? Am I using an incorrect setting somewhere? Is there insufficient phone memory to handle this?
So im not reciving any update notifications for any apps. If i go to the Store there is no notifications but if i got to an app like "Nokia Maps" there will be an update. Also I dont recive any of the updates for "Extras+info" that i keep hearing about. I know some people are saying to go to windowsphone.com and force the update from Puchased apps but it doesnt show up there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone won't let me make or receive any calls, like when i go to call someone it comes up with ringing screen but then turns off and same for when people ring me ; it will come up with the screen telling me they're ringing but if i answer it just turns itself off. i have tried resetting it but it doesnt work - all my software is up to date so i cant update it. it was fine saturday morning but sunday morning wouldnt let me ring.
