Until recently after reading a message and then closing the message, I was able to hover over a message and a series of options would appear eg: Mark unopened, Reply etc. I can't get this to happen anymore. Is there a setting I can change for this to occur?

I'm trying to modify my text message options. In the message list window I press the Blacberry key, scroll down and select 'options' - the options page pops up for about a second, and then I'm taken back to message list. I'm able to open email and other options windows without an issue - this only happens for text message options. Any ideas?

In order under Options the list is as follows:

When driving with my lumia 930 on win 8.1, when I received a text it would be read out to me via the bluetooth integration in the car, and i could respond with my voice. The same does not happen with the lumia 950 xl, is there a setting somewhere that I am missing or is this feature that has been lost in win 10 mobile?

I have an 8 month old Nokia E7 in good condition however just this afternoon when ever I recieve or send a text message instaed of showing what I have written on screen OR what the reply message reads it shows a number instead along with the time i.e. 8: 17.45 I have deleted all messages in the sent items and inbox as wondered if it was because i had a few in there, I also rebooted the ph 3 times, removed and replaced sim card each time but the same thing keeps happening.Have sent my phone messages from 3 other numbers just to make sure it wasnt 1 number causing it and all come up with the same thing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, my bluetooth has taken to reading out my texts out loud, which is a huge problem when I'm connected to external bluetooth speakers. An embarrassing problem that must stop. I don't know what's changed and I don't know what to do to stop this. The only clue I have is that in "Application Manager", when I go to "Bluetooth Share" and scroll down to "Permissions", it lists:
edit your text messages (SMS or MMS)
read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
recieve text messages (SMS)
send SMS messages - this may cost you money
I suspect it's the "read your text messages" that's causing my problem (although I am not smartphone savvy by any means so my suspicion may not be worth much) but there is seemingly no way to edit these permissions from this screen. It makes no sense to list the permissions but make them impossible to edit.
I am using the Blackberry Torch at the moment and the problem which has recently surfaced is that there are some lines missing in the e-mail messages I receive and hence I cannot see messages in full.
Also, the exactly same problem appears when I try to read webpages on my Blackberry Torch.
So if I buy the Torch 9860, want to know if I'll I be able to install additional languages. Plus will I be able to read texts written in languages other than English and view foreign sites?

I figure I would have to do this in Options, but when I click on Option while I'm in the Inbox, nothing happens - just goes back to the inbox. I wonder whether this is a coincidence: I just activated access to my gmail box on my BB Torch, in addition to the enterprise email that's be working on the device all along. While I can send/receive from either box, I just discovered that when I hit the Menu key in either box and scroll down to Options, and try to click on it, I get nothing. I seem to remember that I used to define several email preferences using this function.

I have tried resending IT policy from BES server 4.1.7 where BB device is setup for exchange 2003 email. Also tried siwtching off the device, taking out the battery for a minute, reinserting and turning it ON again. Still no luck with that Options what i am looking for.

when I am in the email (Messages) folder and open up the menu the "Options" selection is available but when selected nothing happens. Each time I reboot it I get an uncaught exception error - No Application. Its running the latest approved version of the OS from Orange. It also did this with he previous OS bundle so I do not suspect its a patch issue.

When i go online, the same emails have been deleted from my mailbox.
Recently switch jobs and had my Torch removed from former employers BES. Received confirmation that it was completed and emails stopped as expected. However, return address if found and password requirements stayed on the phone. Brought phone to Verizon service tech with the intentions to wipe phone. They were unable to perform function as the options feature and icon are missing. Service tech believed that it was removed or hidden as part of former employers security. Former employers IT group claims not to remove functions on BB phones and phone must be defective. Phone has served me well with no complaints. Would like to use it with new employers BES. Anyone know how to wipe or restore. Nothing on this phone is important. Running Software Version 7.1 Bundle 1737
