I would like to be able to download and then read the backed up text messages from my iPhone5. I have successfully downloaded the file but it is in SQL format. How can I read this file?
Anyone who owns a Blackberry, not just the Tour 9630.Like anyone who loses their phone (or has it stolen, as was mine), your contacts are invaluable, (and I am self-employed!). So, I don't necessarily need the phone, but the contact information. My most recent (and 1 of only a few) backups occurred on June 17, 2010. However, I cannot read the information. On the screen titled "Backup and Restore", all of the databases are in a faint, light gray text. Under, it says something about that they cannot be restored because they have been configured for wireless synchronization or wireless backup, but this doesnt' make sense since I backed them up a few weeks ago.

I have an 8 month old Nokia E7 in good condition however just this afternoon when ever I recieve or send a text message instaed of showing what I have written on screen OR what the reply message reads it shows a number instead along with the time i.e. 8: 17.45 I have deleted all messages in the sent items and inbox as wondered if it was because i had a few in there, I also rebooted the ph 3 times, removed and replaced sim card each time but the same thing keeps happening.Have sent my phone messages from 3 other numbers just to make sure it wasnt 1 number causing it and all come up with the same thing.
Recently, my bluetooth has taken to reading out my texts out loud, which is a huge problem when I'm connected to external bluetooth speakers. An embarrassing problem that must stop. I don't know what's changed and I don't know what to do to stop this. The only clue I have is that in "Application Manager", when I go to "Bluetooth Share" and scroll down to "Permissions", it lists:
edit your text messages (SMS or MMS) read your text messages (SMS or MMS) recieve text messages (SMS) send SMS messages - this may cost you money
I suspect it's the "read your text messages" that's causing my problem (although I am not smartphone savvy by any means so my suspicion may not be worth much) but there is seemingly no way to edit these permissions from this screen. It makes no sense to list the permissions but make them impossible to edit.
It says my iphone backup file was corrupted and I was asked to delete my backup file.where could I find the backup file to delete? I've searched everywhere and I couldnt find it.
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
I have not yet gotten ahold of a Lumia 950 but plan to do so in the fairly near future. I've been reading this forum and find various comments about whether or not to restore from a WM 8.1 backup. My current phone is a Lumia 1020 running Denim.
My question is for those who have recommended a fresh install rather than a restore from backup. Are you referring only to the "Apps and Settings" backup and not the "text messages" backup?
Why is my IPhone removing the .wav file that is being sent via text message to my phone? If I send it via an email it comes in but not via a text message sent to my phone number.
I would like to keep all the messages on my iPhone 4s and if needed would like to transfer them to my new iPhone (thinking of swapping with friend for a 64gb). Is this possible, I like to keep all my messages and not delete them.
I have an Iphone 3gs. I desperately need to recover deleted text messages from it. I have never synched my phone to itunes, "automatically synch to itunes" has always been unchecked. I had never made a back up until a few days ago, but i need to recover the messages deleted prior to creating the backup. and once the phone is synched, are your deleted messages lost forever
Looking to open and read text messages that are backed up by itunes. Windows 7 OS. I see alot about sqlite but I am looking to open and read the files on my PC.
Recently perfomed a system restore on my iphone 4s. Device backup date is March 17,2012 but for some reason the phone only shows messages from Oct 2011.
I had assumed i would be able to save/backup/restore the most important info on my cell like my text messages, phone contacts and ALL my photos in my photostream thru iTunes and NOT have to shell out $3.99US + taxes to be able to do so! The App Store has only 1 free app (out of a whopping 5) which, of course, i cannot use on my 6.1.6 iOS..
How can i backup my messages and contacts? How do I add more options from where I backup email contacts etc etc OTHER than just Microsoft programs? i.e. From Chrome or FireFox.
How do I save and access ALL my 600 pics from my phone when only 56 are listed to be able to be saved on iTunes? Would I be completely delusional to hope there is an app or software that could do a cross-platform transfer of my stuff to an Android phone....??Â
I have created a .xls spreadsheet using Open Office that i placed in a folder on my Laptop which i have synched to the Desire but it wouldnt open using the Quickoffice app and since loading the Documents to go app i cant find the spreadsheet.
So where do i find and access the folder & how am i able to read it.
I upgraded from a MotoRazr2 V8 to a BlackBerry 8900 Curve so I wanted to transfer my data from the Moto to the BB. Well, I learned that Moto doesn't play nicely with Mac so my MacBook Pro was not much of a help. I had better luck with my HP running XP and managed to get the contacts switched without too much trouble.
The SMS records are another matter. I couldn't find a way to transfer them using BB Desktop Manager so I made a text file copy of them into a Windows folder I created. Two actually - one for inbox and one for sent items. Now I can't find a way to load those text files onto the Curve. I've tried every way I could think of using Desktop Manager but no dice. I would love a solution that does not require buying more software.
I used to have a Nokia N8 and used Nokia suite to backup (and when needed restore!) SMS Text message on my phone to my PC. How do you do that with the Lumia 920. I don't mind backing up to the cloud if I can't backup to my PC but I just can't seem to find a backup option.
I did a backup of Nokia x6 (FW 40.X latest) on Nokia PC suite and Nokia suite. I then did a hard reset of my phone and now I'm unable to restore text messages from backup file. In fact not just the new ones but none of the backup files are getting restored. I do a backup every 2 weeks and even the older files don't seem to work. Rest of the data got restored absolutely fine. Only have a problem with test messages.
I nearly have 7000 sms across inbox and my folders. too much data lose ( or may be too much to restore? ).
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).
My father just passed away a few days ago and I wanted to keep the conversations we had over text messages, but it was over 30 days ago and it just deleted a conversation we had on September 13th. I've been trying all day to see if there is a way to retrieve the text messages, but I can't find a way. I will do ANYTHING as these are memories I will only be able to hold onto. Is there a way to retrieve the text messages by sending the device to RIM for them to retrieve or anything?
Can somebody please tell if there is a way to save/backup text messages from phone, either to memory card or via usb. I am getting my phone repaired and don't want to share my texts with world but want to save them. I have actually been wanting to find a way to do this for some time as I keep getting memory full. There are some texts that I definitely want to save. I don't see the texts in phone tools when phone is disconneted from PC and I don't see a SMS option in the backup utlility.
