Cannot Backup / Restore Text Messages And Phone Contacts For IPhone 3GS On ITunes?

I had assumed i would be able to save/backup/restore the most important info on my cell like my text messages, phone contacts and ALL my photos in my photostream thru iTunes and NOT have to shell out $3.99US + taxes to be able to do so! The App Store has only 1 free app (out of a whopping 5) which, of course, i cannot use on my 6.1.6 iOS..
How can i backup my messages and contacts? How do I add more options from where I backup email contacts etc etc OTHER than just Microsoft programs? i.e. From Chrome or FireFox.
How do I save and access ALL my 600 pics from my phone when only 56 are listed to be able to be saved on iTunes? Would I be completely delusional to hope there is an app or software that could do a cross-platform transfer of my stuff to an Android phone....??Â
My old Xperia TX is encrypted. So "Xperia Transfer Mobile" app and "PC Companion" are not working here.
Internal "Backup & restore" app exist on both phones - my new Z5 and TX and serves the same way - it can back up all text messages (and other data which I don't need to transfer) and it does work with encrypted phone! First it asks for password for decrypting and then works fine. I'm saving my backup to SD card. I'm inserting SD card to Z5 and trying to restore with same data but... BnR app can't see saved data on SD card!
I made some researches on content of backups and I see they using different formats for backups. Different files structure, different files contents and different metadata format.
When setting up my new iPhone 4s, should I restore from icloud or itunes backup? Or set up as a new iPhone? The phone number is staying the same from my iPhone 4.
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
Recently perfomed a system restore on my iphone 4s. Device backup date is March 17,2012 but for some reason the phone only shows messages from Oct 2011.
I did a backup of Nokia x6 (FW 40.X latest) on Nokia PC suite and Nokia suite. I then did a hard reset of my phone and now I'm unable to restore text messages from backup file. In fact not just the new ones but none of the backup files are getting restored. I do a backup every 2 weeks and even the older files don't seem to work. Rest of the data got restored absolutely fine. Only have a problem with test messages.
I nearly have 7000 sms across inbox and my folders. too much data lose ( or may be too much to restore? ).
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).
I have updated my iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 and I can't restore my backup files because when I try to restore my backup iTunes shows that the backup is corrupted or not compatible with the iPhone
if I restore factory setting to my iPhone, is it still possible to restore the backup from itune/ icloud to get the purchased apps and other informations?
I have bought a new 5800 XM recently instead of my old 7610. I tried hard I think but unable to find a way to transfer my text messages from my 7610 to 5800 XM. How come I can manage this or is not there a way to achieve this issue.

I attempted to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1.I selected 'back up' from the phone in the device menu and iTunes confirmed that the phone had been backed up. My phone Iphone 5s is broken so istead of it, I received an Iphone 4. I tryed to restore the back-up on it but iTunes asked a password that i can`t remember, in order to unlock the back-up of my iPhone. What can I do because I can`t remember the password. I have also backed-up on icloud, but only contacts. Photos and many other apps were backed-up on itunes.
I just deleted an iMessage thread on accident. I went to plug my phone in to restore from a backup I did last night, but of course it automatically synced as soon as I plugged it in, and now it wants to restore from the backup it just made (in which the messages have already been deleted). Is there a way to select a backup point inm the past that is not the most recent one? I am not using iCloud (yet).
I discovered that i deleted videos and pictures that i did not want to delete and need them back. I have since backed my iphone up a few times on itunes and need to recovers my pictures from further back. I tried the iphone extracter but it would only let me recover from my most recent back up
I am trying to restore a backup from iTunes for my iphone. It tells me I have not enough free space. I already deleted lots of photos and apps. Still no luck. My new iPhone 6 won't restore an older back up from my iPhone 5 that is saved via my iTunes on my mac as it says the backup is corrupt. I gather this is something to do with different software versions on the two devices but is there a way to resolve this?
I tried to update my iPhone 4S with the most recent OS but an error occurred and it's gone into recovery mode. I want to restore the phone from a backup (which was created just before I tried to update) but the option is greyed out in iTunes... Â
Do I need to restore the phone to factory settings first?
I had an appointment at the genius bar today and they restored my iphone 4 to factory settings. i was told all my texts (SMS and iMessage) were backed up. I was told to open an iTunes and setup the iPhone as a "new phone" rather than restore from my backup file. how I can restore just the SMS/iMessage part of the backup? t
I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I just got a new iphone changing carriers. I did a backup of my old one to itunes, how can i restore that backup onto the new phone to include all my stuff (i.e. - apps, photos, email setup, etc)
