So if I buy the Torch 9860, want to know if I'll I be able to install additional languages. Plus will I be able to read texts written in languages other than English and view foreign sites?

I'm reading a text and I get two texts while I'm reading. They pop up below the loaded conversation, at the bottom of the screen. I can see who they are from and the first line of the message. When I return to the main text window however, the new texts are nowhere to be found, they have disappeared.
This is pretty frustrating--were they just glitchy re-sends of previous texts? Should I text the people who sent them and say, hey, did you send me a text today, because if you did, it disappeared?...

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast week I did a device software update, I am currently running OS 6.0, Bundle 2949. First of all, my Twitter and Facebook Apps were downgraded to versions from when I was still using my BB Bold. More annoyingly, I lost some languages on my device. I had Spanish, French, Italian, German, English and Dutch. Since the update I have Russian, Greek, Dutch and English (US and UK), but I cannot add or delete any of these through desktop manager.
I tried deleting and adding in the same update sequence. I tried deleting only, then I tried adding only, and every time I get an error saying the action (or update) "could not be validated due to unsatisfied dependencies." So then I tried deleting a regular app, thinking maybe there was an "unsatisfied dependency" in an app. Same error, and nothing happened. And the same again with a different app.
I can receive emails that contain other languages, like chinese and korean. However, well I reply emails in those languages, people only receive symbols. I try to send it to my own email address as well, I also only receive symbols, like question marks. I'm using rogers but I don't think it has anything to do with the carriers because it was okay before.

Also, the exactly same problem appears when I try to read webpages on my Blackberry Torch.
Today my phone started reading my emails out loud as they arrived. I don't think I changed any settings, but I can't make it stop! I have tried pulling my battery and it still happens when it's set to silent.

Never do the emails or texts last more than a couple weeks. I always have my display options set to forever and I amy using less than 20% of the memory. Well, this is my 3rd torch in about 10 months and i turned it on this morining to find that no one was replying to my texts... so i waited a few hours because i presumed that maybe some people were busy, etc... but it wasnt untill my freind sent me an fb message saying she replied to my texts sent earlier today, that i realised that something was wrong... i sent her another text saying to post on my wall what it was what i had sent her, to see if it was mine or her phone, turns out its my phone.... so to double check i sent a message from my other phone to the torch to see if it was just her bold misbehaving, but turns out that my phone didnt get that text either... checked my firewall to see if i had accidentaly set it to texts, i feel like throwing the phone on the floor because its so **bleep**.... after this im never buying a blackberry..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started the contract in November 2011 with a Torch 9860.I had numerous problems with the phone freezing and randomly losing data such as texts, call logs and emails. In 9 months I've had 5 phones and 1 sim card change, 2 weeks ago BT changed the handset to a Torch 9810. The phone has worked fine till Friday when it started doing funny things like randomly receiving texts which were from old conversations. On saturday afternoon it lost all data by way of texts, call logs and emails that were over 24 hours old and in the last hour has lost everything over 6 hours old.I have all calls, texts and emails going into the messages list and have that set to save everything for ever so I can chose when to delete information.As I;m a consultant I need my call logs, texts and emails to work out my billing so this really is a pain.
