I recently bought a BB Torch 9800 on contract and it was faulty, i got it swapped but still no luck. When i go on 'Manage Connections' it says my BIS and BES arent connected, meaning BBM doesnt work. I've been in the phone shop 3 times this week and its really starting to get annoying!!
I have checked Service Status and it tells me that:Blackberry Internet service - Not connectedBlackberry enterprise server - Not connectedI have checked with my service provider which is MTN and all is ok.
I haven't seen anything on thins about the Torch so here goes.I work for a law firm where the attorneys are allowed to purchase their own smartphone, as long as it is a Black Berry or an iPhone (3GS or higher). A few of the main partners rushed out to get the Torch yesterday and the bright people at AT&T restored their old device's data to the Torch.
My problem is while I'm in the process of attempting to back up one of the new Torch devices so I can save the 800 photos that were transferred from an iPhone, the PC doesn't see the Torch. It charges over USB, but the latest DM does not see it at all. Windows does not pop up the found new hardware balloon. Has anyone had this experience so far? I've tried two different Torch devices and on 3 different PCs.
On the Torch, everytime I open an app, Facebook, Twitter, Scoremobile... the 'connected BBM' asks me if I want to connect. It doesn't matter if I say Yes or No, it keeps asking everytime.
Having a nightmare with my service provider. They say I'm connected with the Blackberry Internet Service but I can't access anything on my phone. They did turn it on but when I was connected I couldn't use my internet/Browser, which meant it was useless anyway! When I asked them to fix this I ended up being disconnected from the BIS again....but again they say I am connected. My service status confirms I'm not connected to the BIS. I've tried numerous battery pulls and I've had their tech support on speed dial for the last week.which has done no good!
I've tried rebooting taking the battery out, switching on and off with and without the sim card I've left it for 3 hours backing up and when I returned it was still on 13%?
Does anybody know if I can tether a Blackberry Torch 9810 to a ThinkPad Tablet. When I try in Bluetooth on my Tablet I can get them paired but I get this message "Paired but not connected".Has anybody had any luck in doing this?
I'm new to blackberry. I don't have problems connecting to wifi, but the problem is once I'm connected, I cannot browse any website. Maybe my connection preference is to Mobile Networks Only, but how do I change that? I cannot search it from the options menu. I'm using blackberry torch 9800.
I am using BB torch 9800. I have a problem with 3G connection. In the main menu at the top i see i have a connection 3G. But when i look up the service status it says in Blackberry İnternet Service: Not connected. when i turn my connection to 2 G or wifi it fixes but in 3 G I have a connection problem.
I am having BB Torch3 (9860), My device searchs the Wi-Fi Networks and gets connected but doesn't opens the page it shows check the internet service provider.
I have had a 9860 Torch for 15 months with Orange now, with no problems to mention. The phone however started to play up, the battery seem to run dry very quickly and I had to put it on charge daily without having used the phone much, ie no bluetooth, not surfing the net etc. Then the phone started to go off when I took it off charge. The screen would go black and only the butons at the bottom would be alight. Nothing would happen if I pressed any of the buttons, and I am not able to restart the phone. I then have to put it on charge again, take the battery out and re-insert it, and it will start up again as long as it is connected to the mains. The battery indicator shows the battery is fully charged, I did however buy a new battery and downloaded the latest update just before Christmas, which seemed to solve the problem for a few days, however the phone has now reverted to the same problem. The phone works perfectly well when connected to the mains, but the screen goes black as soon as it is disconnected, and will only start up again if connected back up to the mains and battery taken out and re-inserted.
I am trying to connect my blackberry to my computer to use the software. My computer is not even showing my blackberry connected. I have bought a new USB cable and still no luck. I have tried all three USB ports on my computer and nothing.
I am having severe problems with my bb torch 9800, it wont stay connected to the wireless network for any length of time before I have to register it again, this is happening daily now realised it was doing this when i try and send information over my wifi and it would connect to it but would not send any data, and comes up with a message stating I am not connected to the wireless network. As said before the way I could get it to work temporary is by going to, options, device, advanced system settings, host routing table, and the pressing the bb key and selecting register now. This has only started happening since updating my torch.
Is it possible to use the torch 9800 as an analogue modem connected to my laptop and connect to another analogue modem over the normal PSTN telephone lines?I know I can connect to the internet but in this particular case I do require the internet only the connection to the other analogue modem.
I am using Torch 9810 and I am facing problem during backing up my data through BB Desktop Software.Backup start smoothly but in the process it stops automatically and its gives Error saying "Cable is not connected Properly or make sure device is switched on".Same cable works fine while charging or transfering data from phone to pc or pc to phone.Everything works fine except the backup.

I currently have a curve 9300, and my service provider is Telus Mobility. I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.
Having problems with my Xperia Ray connecting to my Jawbone. It shows it connected, and the jawbone even beeps when calls are ended. The problem is all of the phone audio is routed through the phone and not the Bluetooth.
My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something. When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.
When I call someone, or someone calls me - my phone "vibrates" once when the connection is made. i.e. right as someone would be saying "hello" it vibrates. I assume it does this to let me know it has made a connection (also does this when I hit someone's voicemail) but on the other end, people keep asking me "what is that noise?". I'd like to turn it off, and I cannot find the option anywhere.
I am using Blackberry BOLD 9700 and my service provider is vodafone (With Blackberry plan).I have a problem in connection of BES and BIS.When i go to my service status option it show not connected but If use wi-fi it works absolutely fine.I have been using blackberry for over a year now, never ever faced this type of problem.
I broke my data settings (Motorola Razr Maxx Ve) and switched things over to QNC for now so I could at least do MMS (slowly). The thing is; It only works sometimes unless I have it plugged into my PC, and then it always works. What's the difference when having it plugged it? Does having the phone plugged into the computer enable the QNC because it's in modem mode or something like that?
I have a Bold 9790. The phone was working perfectly until I connected to a wifi connection today. After I disabled the wifi connection the BI and BES say "not connected" in service status. Kindly advise how I can connect to the mobile network again.
When i plug my HTC hd in, it never ever recognises the fact it's plugged into my pc. Port not responding i always get, or 'no device connected'. it makes putting music on a real pain as i have to use another program called htc sync, which is cack.
