My Bold 9000, iPhone and laptop can recognise over 10 wifi networks around my house. But the Torch 9810 cannot even recognise the one in my room, 10 ft away. However when I sit next to the Router it does recognise?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having severe problems with my bb torch 9800, it wont stay connected to the wireless network for any length of time before I have to register it again, this is happening daily now realised it was doing this when i try and send information over my wifi and it would connect to it but would not send any data, and comes up with a message stating I am not connected to the wireless network. As said before the way I could get it to work temporary is by going to, options, device, advanced system settings, host routing table, and the pressing the bb key and selecting register now. This has only started happening since updating my torch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something. When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to access the internet using the Mobile Network? When I go to Manage Connections, I enable Mobile Network. On the top right it shows the internet signal, with 3-4 bars (it varies) with and H+ to the left of it. Doesn't this mean that the internet should work? So I try using the Browser, just typing in something like [URL] and I get the following message, "There is insufficient network coverage to process your request. Please try again later."I've tried it a few times and it still gives me the same message. I've made sure that Data Services is "On", and below where it says Mobile Network and Network Mode it shows: AT&T and 3G/H+ & 2G, respectively.
In the Service Status tab, it shows:
Mobile Voice
Status: Available
Connection: Mobile Nework
[code]....
When I bought the phone, the salespeople had told me the internet should be activated. I called them a few mins ago and they said the same thing. Also, just an FYI, when I connect to my WiFi network at home the internet works just fine. It's when I turn WiFi networks off, and leave Mobile Network "On" that the internet stops working.
I have gone thru all the diagnostics with ATT over the phone. They think it maybe a SIM card issue or a phone hardware problem. Is there anyway I can diagnose the phone hardware?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I have identical ATRIX 2 phones just over a year old. Always has been some strange things happening staying connected to wifi network but that finally corrected itself on both phones
After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I went to a AT&T hotspot and downloaded the latest ICS update.on her phone No matter what I do it will connect to our network wifi and bring in mail etc for about ten seconds then the singal bars change from white to blue, The settings menue shows wifi still on blue connected but the signal bars shows blue. Her data use would indicate it is indee using cingular data.
my phone is not connected to a free network with multiple funnels password, but sooner if it could pts normally connects to other wireless networks
