I am very new to the Android OS and I am finding it rather confusing.I believe my HTC Hero mobile phone is unlocked but connected the the 3 network.I have been trying to update the phone as I dont think I have the latest version.

I've tried multiple wifi connections and my s6 will connect to them but when connected nothing that requires data loads at all and as soon as I'm off wifi my phone will load everything using mobile data. I've only had the phone a few days and have used almost 3 gigs of data!

My phone stays always connected to the WLAN network wherever available say at my home, at office. When i go to WLAN Wizards and disconnect it. It again get reconnected automatically. Even if I remove all the known connection, it keeps popping up the select WLAN network page. I have no clue why is it happening? can anyone tell me what is the reason and hot to get rid of it.?

The problem I have is when the phone locks me into GPRS, it becomes a virtual paper weight. It works great if I can get it to lock onto Edge by walking around enough. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

I used to charge my BB using a cradle. Last week I went back to using the USB connection. Now, every time I
a) turn it off
b) charge it via USB
c) turn it on.
The Mobile network comes up as off.

So, I just bought a JB'en iphone 3g tonight.Went ahead and unlocked it using ultrasn0w.Connected it to my mac/itunes, and it asks "an iphone has been previously synced with this computer. setup as a new iphone -or- restore the backup of ***"So, since I had purchased apps using my *** phone (actually was an ipod touch that i got rid of), I'm thinking that I should restore the backup so that I can get my paid apps back for free.
Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?
-otherwise, if i call this phone a new name, is there a way to transfer my purchased apps to the new phone's account?

However, I was still unable to send or receive MMS messages (yes, they are a part of my plan). I always receive the message "could not send or receive all messages." I was told after that this particular phone just won't send or receive MMS messages on the T-mobile network. I'm not sure I believe that. I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has this problem, or knows how to fix the problem.

They'd get a text and not properly show the little VM icon, and you would need to do seem editing to get it to work.Is this also the case with V3xx or will it work as is?

I bought a new Verizon 8830 World Edition unlocked from ebay. I confirmed that its unlocked from MEPD command (although it says Network: ''Inactive'' instead of 'disabled').I tried using various GSM network SIMs (India) in it and everytime, it shows an active tower and full signal levels and displays the name of the network correctly. It looks as if its connected to the GSM service at full signal.However, placing calls fail and any call made to the number gives a 'Switched Off' message. i have tried: Battery pull & Wipe out.

I have a factory unlocked (by AT&T) phone and I'm using it on T-Mobile US and iMessage and FaceTime won't work. iMessages won't send to the email that is supposed to work, and my phone number is greyed out. But they apparently activated (I got a bunch of stupid charges from the international text!) so $$$ is not the problem. Also, it's not jailbroken or anything.
