If I may rephrase an earlier query--how do i unbrand an unlocked v195 from t-mobile so i can use it as an att&t go phone? I can now make and receive calls, retrieve messages, etc, but there there seem to be crumbs left that do weird things.
View 1 RepliesI will be going overseas soon to Asia and a friend over there is requesting we get him an iPhone 3Gs and he will pay us back when there.Now, my friend over here, his sister just received an iPhone 3GS. She does not want it. It was a gift from an admirer and won't take it back. They are now going to just sell it and take the money.So my current situation is this, I currently have the iPhone box, sealed at my house. The box displays IMEI and some other information stuff. What I don't know is if the phone was bought from a carrier like Rogers/Fido or from a reseller store or something. The friend overseas would like the phone to be brand new and sealed. Also he would like the phone unlocked so he can use it.Problem, is there a way to find out through IMEI or somewhere on box to figure out if the phone was bought from a carrier? I've never bought an iPhone from Rogers/Fido so don't know if there'd be a logo or something somwhere on box. As of now there are no indications somewhere saying it is from a carrier. My friend over here also thinks it was not bought at a carrier. We can't really ask the original guy who bought it because of whatever issues too.So yeah, if anyone knows if its really easy to figure this out or something, please let me know.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked Motorola Q9h and T-mobile updated my phone with the correct settings after I contacted customer care. However, I was still unable to send or receive MMS messages (yes, they are a part of my plan). I always receive the message "could not send or receive all messages." I was told after that this particular phone just won't send or receive MMS messages on the T-mobile network. I'm not sure I believe that. I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has this problem, or knows how to fix the problem.

They'd get a text and not properly show the little VM icon, and you would need to do seem editing to get it to work.Is this also the case with V3xx or will it work as is?

It took several tries because Windows kept timing out while I entered the #s on the phone. After pairing, Windows tried to install drivers, but failed. How can I get these drivers? The Moto support site just seems to have USB drivers.Does MPT come with all the necessary drivers? Even for x64?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm looking at picking up an inexpensive Quad Band phone for an upcoming trip to the UK. I have narrowed it down to either the V195 or the V197.As far as i can tell the V197 is just a different color. Are there any other differences between the 2 phones?
I read on Amazon i think, that one person said the black colored center row of keys on the V197 were hard to read. FROm the pictures it doesn't appear that they would.I like the black color better than the blue, so i would prefer it over the V195.
I have carried a v191 flip phone for the past four years--not exactly cutting edge, but perfectly servicable as a telephone and usable in most foreign countries with a local SIM chip. (And, for foreign travel, the fact that the device is so outdated makes it much less attractive to would-be thieves.)
I would like to get another one for my wife for an upcoming trip, but I can only find v195 models for sale. what the specific differences are between the two? I really don't have the patience to learn how to operate a completely different device, or to try to teach those details to someone else.

I have a factory unlocked (by AT&T) phone and I'm using it on T-Mobile US and iMessage and FaceTime won't work. iMessages won't send to the email that is supposed to work, and my phone number is greyed out. But they apparently activated (I got a bunch of stupid charges from the international text!) so $$$ is not the problem. Also, it's not jailbroken or anything.

Everything works browser, txt, MMS, calls, even my weather app. Just every time I try to log into Facebook, it tells me "Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try again later. If this continues, contact your service provider for support".I came from a Tmo BB Curve so the service was already there. I re-registered on the BB network, resent the service books from the web and from my phone, did hard re-starts, went online to My Tmobile and updated the IMEI. I uninstalled the app from the phone, performed a hard reset, then reinstalled the app from the Blackberry App Store.

I'm thinking of buying an 4s unlocked to use on Simple mobile carrier which they allow iPhones to be used on their not work but don't support it as stated on their website. Giving that it's an unlocked iPhone, all I would need is a Simple mobile sim card and I'm good to go but my question is.... will all features work? It would suck if I bought it at full price just to find out some features may not work on the unsupported network. It would defeat the purpose of having an unlocked iPhone if I can't use it on any GMS carrier.

I can set up the Blackberry to use my wifi connection no problem, just can't figure how to set it up to use the mobile internet included in my price plan?

All of a sudden yesterday my phone stopped auto-syncing gmail. The calendar is fine, the contacts seem okay...but not the gmail. I am at a loss. I checked all my settings, even the battery mode - worried it might be set to night-time - everything looks fine. It will sync if I select sync, but not automatically. ARGGH! Any ideas, and yes I cleared cache and data from the Manage Apps menu. And pulled the battery and tried again.
