Motorola :: Differences Between V195 And V197?

Im looking at picking up an inexpensive Quad Band phone for an upcoming trip to the UK. I have narrowed it down to either the V195 or the V197.As far as i can tell the V197 is just a different color. Are there any other differences between the 2 phones?
I read on Amazon i think, that one person said the black colored center row of keys on the V197 were hard to read. FROm the pictures it doesn't appear that they would.I like the black color better than the blue, so i would prefer it over the V195.

I added a bluetooth dongle to my Windows 7 x64 system. I tried to pair with my TMo v195s. I got it to find the phone and typed the pairing code into the phone. It took several tries because Windows kept timing out while I entered the #s on the phone. After pairing, Windows tried to install drivers, but failed. How can I get these drivers? The Moto support site just seems to have USB drivers.Does MPT come with all the necessary drivers? Even for x64?

I have carried a v191 flip phone for the past four years--not exactly cutting edge, but perfectly servicable as a telephone and usable in most foreign countries with a local SIM chip. (And, for foreign travel, the fact that the device is so outdated makes it much less attractive to would-be thieves.)
I would like to get another one for my wife for an upcoming trip, but I can only find v195 models for sale. what the specific differences are between the two? I really don't have the patience to learn how to operate a completely different device, or to try to teach those details to someone else.

If I may rephrase an earlier query--how do i unbrand an unlocked v195 from t-mobile so i can use it as an att&t go phone? I can now make and receive calls, retrieve messages, etc, but there there seem to be crumbs left that do weird things.

It has become clear that Motorola's tactic is to provise updates and meet promises in a fragmented way, the main issue with Xoom is the multiple number of models and builds to an extent that Motorola is not sure anymore how to handle the updates with many variables and region differences, and their way to handle this is by creating more fragmentation, the US Verizon Models were the first to receive the 3.1 update followed by the US Wifi ones, later will be non-US Wifi upfate to 3.1 possibly with sd card enabling, followed by non-US 3g with the same update and finally back to the US Verizon 4g upgrade and sd enabling concurretly or sd after 4g.Some have predicted this when the US upfate started and Motorola denied at the time. Now it is clear this is the plan.

Besides totally free navigation (saving 10€ per year), what benefits are there upgrading to 3.03? I use both 3.01 and 3.03 in two E66s side by side, and so far I don't see what is better in 3.03 in normal car navigation.How come 3.03 does not have predictive country/city/street name search anymore? In 3.01 it is very handy if you are not quite sure how the city or street name is written (especially abroad), or you are not quite certain of the name of the street you are trying to find.Why was this dropped from 3.03, or am I using 3.03 wrong way? Unlike some, fortunately I at least seem to get street name searches ok also in 3.03 offline mode.One more thing, does it matter whether you download maps to either 3.01 or 3.03 through OVI suite or PC Suite/OVI map loader? OVI suite map loader has never really worked for me, I am unable to download anything from it. PC Suite variant works more reliably, just downloaded all maps and voices to E66 3.03 over night.

I have a Verizon 8560 which had the internal screen go out.However, it says its only for GSM and not CDMA... that seems odd to me. Are there any overriding differences between the GSM and CDMA versions, or is this guy full of it?

I have C3-00 with firmware v8.71. I noticed that when making or receiving a call, even with the volume set to 10 bars, when someone is standing next to me, he cannot hear the voice of the one am talking to. My friend has C3-00 with firmware V8-63, when he receives or makes a call, when you are standing next to him, you can hear the voice of the person he is talking to and you can reduce the volume in order for somone next to you not to ehar what you are discussion. Is it about the firmware or is it just my phone?I want to know so if I have to reverse back to V8.63 by flashing the phone or maintaining V8.71.

I'm a current owner of the BB 9700 Bold 2 (for private purposes only) and I love the keyboard and the (email) software overall. However, I somehow dislike the overall build quality .I want to buy another BB - the Storm 2. Will I be satisfied with the Storm 2 by means of typing speed and build quality? What are the other main differences between those two BBs (besides the obvious ). And moreover: Should I buy the Storm 2 now or should I wait for a newer device?!

I have bought a US spec one via a UK seller and a friend of mine who did the same was told in an EU service centre that they would not be able to repair his phone as the US models were different to the EU models. My Atrix has the latest update applied and has started recently showing the following error message:"com.motorola.service.main had stopped unexpectedly" Touching ok returns to the home screen for 1 second and the error reappears. This makes the phone unusable.I have performed a factory reset and the error was away for 24 hrs but now it has reappeared.

I'm getting the following error when trying to check corporate sync emails :"The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I've tried again and I still get an error. I've tried rebooting and I still get an error. Yahoo and Gmail are fine.I also get this error when I try to amend the settings in Accounts:"The application Email authenticator (process com.motorola.provider.authenticator) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."There are loads of posts of this topic for all Motorola Android phones (this is the first discussion for Motorola Razr) - none of them have a decent solution!

i have a few iden motorola phones, i580, i877, i855 and i'm trying to use them for voice dialing.i got into the contact and add a voicetag to that contact, save it, and when i exit out of the contacts and go back into that particular contact it doesn't have a voicetag.so i'm worndering how to do voice dialing on an iden motorola phone! thanks in advance

I have motorola xt720 and could not update motonav because motoextras does not see my phone. What I should do? I try to make an update in portal and tool mode and in storage mode but nothing happens. This post is for all of us who bought the Xoom because 4g speed was an important factor to us. We've been informed by email that our Xoom 4G upgrade will be available in September (2011), early Sept or late Sept who knows. We'll also have to send the Xoom back for the upgrade so the inconvenience factor to get our 4g is high.
Well for those of us [i.e. myself] who bought early in the hopes that Motorola would exceed our personal expectations and put the upgrade in our Xooms quickly after the initial Xoom release on Feb 24, 2011, we've been disappointed with this unreasonably long delay.
The bar of what we expect from Motorola is now set by the Galaxy tab 4G and the tab speeds are, well, phenomenal.[URL].. So, a personal observation, the upgrade had better be stellar and fast now that the Xoom will [maybe?] be the No. 2 4g tablet on the Verizon network. You can't win the first to 4g tablet market race but you sure better not blow the performance side of 4g.
