Nokia :: Differences Between OVI Maps 3.01 And 3.03
Apr 8, 2010Besides totally free navigation (saving 10€ per year), what benefits are there upgrading to 3.03? I use both 3.01 and 3.03 in two E66s side by side, and so far I don't see what is better in 3.03 in normal car navigation.How come 3.03 does not have predictive country/city/street name search anymore? In 3.01 it is very handy if you are not quite sure how the city or street name is written (especially abroad), or you are not quite certain of the name of the street you are trying to find.Why was this dropped from 3.03, or am I using 3.03 wrong way? Unlike some, fortunately I at least seem to get street name searches ok also in 3.03 offline mode.One more thing, does it matter whether you download maps to either 3.01 or 3.03 through OVI suite or PC Suite/OVI map loader? OVI suite map loader has never really worked for me, I am unable to download anything from it. PC Suite variant works more reliably, just downloaded all maps and voices to E66 3.03 over night.

I noticed that when making or receiving a call, even with the volume set to 10 bars, when someone is standing next to me, he cannot hear the voice of the one am talking to. My friend has C3-00 with firmware V8-63, when he receives or makes a call, when you are standing next to him, you can hear the voice of the person he is talking to and you can reduce the volume in order for somone next to you not to ehar what you are discussion. Is it about the firmware or is it just my phone?I want to know so if I have to reverse back to V8.63 by flashing the phone or maintaining V8.71.

Jun 9, 2010My eyesight is not so good. The standard size of the text on an E71 is too small for me. I have to select "Zoom, 125%" for each mail I read. This is extremely irritating and there is no global switch. This IMHO is a serious design flaw. The software version is Build 9.7.0.2

I read on Amazon i think, that one person said the black colored center row of keys on the V197 were hard to read. FROm the pictures it doesn't appear that they would.I like the black color better than the blue, so i would prefer it over the V195.

Now it is clear this is the plan.

Jul 4, 2012I'm running ICS on my Razr and cannot connect to GSM in Europe. I have the latest build (recieved in the soak test a little over a week ago), and have international roaming enabled with Verizon (verified this seveal times now). I've been all over France over the last several days, and have not been able to connect anywhere.I've tried, power cycling, hard reset, toggling nework mode (Global, CDMA, GSM), forcing GSM, and just about every setting configuration in the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*). The only thing I can see that may indicate a poblem (beside the fact that I can see, but can't connect to any GSM networks ) is that I can't select the EURO GSM radio band in the test menu.

Jun 30, 2011So I bought my wife a new D2 in December. A month ago it suddenly no longer saw the memory card. Verizon replaced it with a USED D2 Global. I hate Verizon. The replacement immediately had low in call volume and only a power off would fix it. They then sent another USED D2 Global. I hate Verizon. The replacement D2 Global arrived and guess what....low in call volume. Went back to the store and they're sending yet another. Really? How much of their shipping costs and my time are they going to waste? I'll keep taking it back and maybe after 10 replacements they'll realize how much shipping costs they've wasted.

Sep 6, 2012I wish Sony Mobile would revert from their stance of not offering the global equalizer setting by default to all apps. Before Lollipop landed the Clear Audio + setting applied to all apps including YouTube, Walkman, Radio Tunes etc. However, after lollipop landed this setting has been moved to an exclusive setting that App developers have to specifically code for. This situation is not acceptable as if they enabled global support for the EQ then if one simply wishes to turn the EQ off they can do so in the sound settings. Now accept for a few music apps you have no option to use Sony Clear Audio + sound enhancements which is sad. The phones output volume is not that loud which makes this EQ settings important to give that extra punch in the music. To me this decision is a deal breaker as Samsung and Microsoft have the global EQ enabled. Sony's decision makes no sense to me and it ruins what would otherwise be the complete experience on the Z2.I am considering a Lumia currently but would like to stick with my Z2 if there is hope of resolving this issue soon.
