Xperia X10 :: Unable To Use Bluetooth Hands-free After Latest Multi-touch Update
Apr 11, 2011After latest update that brought us pinch-zoom I've got issue with using the phone with my in-car Bluetooth handsfree. It happens during call - it all works great up to some point when BT connection seems to "hang" so both phone and car BT thinks in's still active while it's not. After I move the call to the phone and finish conversation, BT in the phone gets turned off and it never turns on again until I reboot the phone. This is pretty annoying as I spend 2+ hrs daily in the car and I live in Ontario, Canada which has a law against using cellphones during driving except with handsfree.

Sep 6, 2012I wish Sony Mobile would revert from their stance of not offering the global equalizer setting by default to all apps. Before Lollipop landed the Clear Audio + setting applied to all apps including YouTube, Walkman, Radio Tunes etc. However, after lollipop landed this setting has been moved to an exclusive setting that App developers have to specifically code for. This situation is not acceptable as if they enabled global support for the EQ then if one simply wishes to turn the EQ off they can do so in the sound settings. Now accept for a few music apps you have no option to use Sony Clear Audio + sound enhancements which is sad. The phones output volume is not that loud which makes this EQ settings important to give that extra punch in the music. To me this decision is a deal breaker as Samsung and Microsoft have the global EQ enabled. Sony's decision makes no sense to me and it ruins what would otherwise be the complete experience on the Z2.I am considering a Lumia currently but would like to stick with my Z2 if there is hope of resolving this issue soon.

Sep 1, 2011I, until about two weeks ago, was using the mult-touch keyboard option and it was working fine. About a week ago, anytime I would type something and hit the space bar, the zoomed in window for texting would zoom back out to the window that appears below (stock Motorola text software). I tried it again and the same thing happened. Everytime I use the space bar in multi-touch, it would exit out of the text editing and show my text below in the skinny rectangular "viewing" bar. I also tried this in Gmail. The exact same thing happens. I am using Swype, which I would rather not use, but would like to know if this is fixable without doing a factory reset. Doing a factory reset is far too painful with having to download all the apps I once had and having to start over in certain games because it erases any progress, etc. If the only option is to factory reset, then so be it. That needs to be a last resort though.

In addition to the Symbian ^ 3 there will be many new features such as widgets and advanced 3d games. Besides, Satio such a powerful processor that Symbian ^ 1 he simply has nothing to do, and he is "resting", but is it good? I paid so much money for not a simple dialer with the camera, but for a smartphone, which can be, and watch movies in avi format, listen to music in a format lossless, play in normal beautiful game. So much money spent. I was sorry that he took Satio, because he was on the platform of Symbian ^ 1.

Jun 21, 2011I had managed to update version to 2.3.3 from 2.3.2 during this week.But somehow, PC companion still shows me that I had new updates for my phone.
So I did the 2nd update as follows on the instructions, and after reboot the phone, ALL my personal settings, messages, contacts, apps, games setting on the phone are gone!Luckily the phone was still new and i had a back up last few weeks ago.Hope Sony Ericcson will look into this issue and prevent it from happen on the next update!

Mar 17, 2011I've updated X8 from 1.6 android version to 2.1 and the home (middle) button doesn't work anymore. Also the touch screen sometimes doesn't respond. I regret for updating because before this everything was working perfect. I've carefully done step by step the update according to the instructions on PC companion and on site. So is there a way to delete the 2.1 update and return to the root version 1.6?

Jun 5, 2012i has update my xmp twice, in first attempt got random reboot while use intrnet browser and my phone reboot automatically. 1st attempt i use SEUS but i take the recommended update not the reset factory date+update. and i also notice fb app eat lot of ram event when mobile date or WiFi is OFF and i think this is the reason why my phone reboot itself because the system has insufficient amount of ram. 2nd attempt in upgrading to ics, i use seus bt i choose reset factory data+update. after first boot, i decided to disable fb apps and all the unused apps in my phone for notification led, the bug is there for example when charging the led stay on red even there is new msg or missed call. Camera also produce lot of noise dispite the size of the picture is increase(this is well known issues) and the worst part is, no on screen notification when new sms or missed call like GB 2.3.4.. sony only put signed of new sms or missed call at top of the screen(on the left) that make me difficult to see.. 1 question to Johan, i believe you are the customer service or moderator in this forum , this ics version 4.1.B.0.431 is the beta version for us? if yes, will SMC give an update with the stable version like GB? But please give us 4.1 update, we are the user and we deserve it!

Aug 5, 2012After the software update on my Sony Xperia Ray to android-version 4.0.4 Build-number 4.1.B.0.431 it is not possible to connect to my Bluetooth car kit.I'm using a Opel Corsa Touch & Go. This car audio & navigation system can be used as car kit with Bluetooth telephones.To solve the problem Opel has updated the software in the Opel Corsa Touch & Go but without success for my on the Sony Xperia Ray and my wife's Sony Xperia Neo V.It works fine with the Apple iPad and the HTC One without any problem.So I guess Sony added some extra software to the Android OS that corrupts the Bluetooth connection.First I start the car kit with the option pairing. The car kit pups-up with a mesage that the phone has to connect with pin code 9876.Then I start pairing from my phone connecting to the car kit. But there is no dialog box shown on my Sony Xperia phone where I can type in the pin-code. The car kit returns immediately with the message "unable to connect, wrong pin code".On a iPad a dialog is shown to fill in the pin-code.

Phone is plugged in, computer asks if i want to update, I click yes, computer downloads the new software (25-35 min) but when it starts to transfer to phone an error message pops up saying that the network has timed out. I replaced it with an LG EnV Touch, which is a great phone.I had successfully hacked into the Razr using P2K Commander.I've been using BitPim with my new LG EnV Touch, and while it works "well", it is not the same type of utility: It doesn't give full access (any access?) to the phone directories. It seems mainly useful for uploading ringtones, pics, etc.
I'm trying to download pics FROM the phone. I realize that there are other ways to do that; but I'm just interested in seeing if there is a way to do that with the phone connected.

Jul 20, 2011Checking my phone, it told me there was an update available. I used the PC connect software to instal the update, following all instructions exactly. The update was applied and the phone shut off. I restarted the phone as instructed, and after a few minutes the update appeared to be successful. However, when I tried to use the phone I discovered that I could not unlock the screen! My first thought was to restart the phone, but without the touch screen, I can't even turn it off! It seems like my only option at this point would be to remove the battery to kill the power, replace the battery, and try restarting the phone.
