Xperia Mini/pro :: Get Rid Of This ICS Update And Update Into The Old Android Version?
Jun 14, 2012
how to get rid of this ICS update and update into the old android version. I am having some serious problems whith my phone after ICS update (physical keyboard not working, problems in adding phone contacts, reboots after every app close, acting slow).
I know that Android 2.1 is not available yet, but when it is how will I update? Isn't their a feature in the phone that you can update it with or does it need to be done another way?
I have Android 2.1.1.A.0.6 installed on my mobile phone. I would like to update the version. I have tried it with the help of PC Companion, but it is not working. How can I do this?
I've updated X8 from 1.6 android version to 2.1 and the home (middle) button doesn't work anymore. Also the touch screen sometimes doesn't respond. I regret for updating because before this everything was working perfect. I've carefully done step by step the update according to the instructions on PC companion and on site. So is there a way to delete the 2.1 update and return to the root version 1.6?
After the software update on my Sony Xperia Ray to android-version 4.0.4 Build-number 4.1.B.0.431 it is not possible to connect to my Bluetooth car kit.I'm using a Opel Corsa Touch & Go. This car audio & navigation system can be used as car kit with Bluetooth telephones. To solve the problem Opel has updated the software in the Opel Corsa Touch & Go but without success for my on the Sony Xperia Ray and my wife's Sony Xperia Neo V.It works fine with the Apple iPad and the HTC One without any problem. So I guess Sony added some extra software to the Android OS that corrupts the Bluetooth connection.First I start the car kit with the option pairing. The car kit pups-up with a mesage that the phone has to connect with pin code 9876.Then I start pairing from my phone connecting to the car kit. But there is no dialog box shown on my Sony Xperia phone where I can type in the pin-code. The car kit returns immediately with the message "unable to connect, wrong pin code".On a iPad a dialog is shown to fill in the pin-code.
i has update my xmp twice, in first attempt got random reboot while use intrnet browser and my phone reboot automatically. 1st attempt i use SEUS but i take the recommended update not the reset factory date+update. and i also notice fb app eat lot of ram event when mobile date or WiFi is OFF and i think this is the reason why my phone reboot itself because the system has insufficient amount of ram. 2nd attempt in upgrading to ics, i use seus bt i choose reset factory data+update. after first boot, i decided to disable fb apps and all the unused apps in my phone for notification led, the bug is there for example when charging the led stay on red even there is new msg or missed call. Camera also produce lot of noise dispite the size of the picture is increase(this is well known issues) and the worst part is, no on screen notification when new sms or missed call like GB 2.3.4.. sony only put signed of new sms or missed call at top of the screen(on the left) that make me difficult to see.. 1 question to Johan, i believe you are the customer service or moderator in this forum , this ics version 4.1.B.0.431 is the beta version for us? if yes, will SMC give an update with the stable version like GB? But please give us 4.1 update, we are the user and we deserve it!
I have a new Xperia mini (ST15i) and issues with the screen (instable, sometimes I have to pull out the battery). I red that an upgrade to Android 4 might solve the issue. See current version below.
I've tried to upgrade with PC Companion but the software sais that the phone is allready up-to-date. I also tried "repair" but that installs the same firm- and software that is allready on it
How can I upgrade to Android 4 and/or solve the issue?
After multiple tries of trying to update Android for my Xperia X10 mini pro phone via the PC Companion as well as the downloaded Update Service (after reading similar threads) i am still at a loss! I am in Mumbai using an Airtel SIM.
In the case of the PC Companion, it goes smoothly until the Prepare step (where no Previous & Next buttons appear). After "preparing" the phone nothing happens. I tried pressing Enter & then it goes onto the Update panel. But here the Download status bar is just mpty & doesnt download anything.
With the Update Service, it runs fine till the Connect step. After following the instructions once again nothing happens. Here there is only a Previous button & no Next button. Pressing Enter takes you to the Previous panel.
In both cases I have seen no message appear on the phone at all & no sign of anything being recognized on either of the softwares.
will the x10 mini pro get a software update to 2.3 or not and if it won't i want a nice custom rom for it that looks like 2.3 or 2.2 without problems and someone tested before and the way to install it!
When I try to update my xperia mini pro to Android ICS through PC Companion, the progress is as follows:
[code]...
And donīt even try to propose to switch off antivirus and firewall, because Iīve tried that also. And no, I have not got another PC to test it. Instead, you should try to do software like we are used to in 21st century.I really have to restrain myself from using more appropriate language for your utter software engineering disability. You should really sit and think about how you do your business.
I've got a Mini Pro and the operator is T-Mobile. T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore. Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again. I've turned my MMS & data off and Data roaming On if that makes any difference at all.
Finally the Update to Android 2.1 is available, I think. On trying to update wit my phone, It says the update is available dat I should use a computer to do d update.
Here's were i need help, On using the Pc companion, after updatin the Pc companion, I tried to connect to get my Phone update but It tells me it needs to connect to the internet to be able to do this, But I'm already connected to the net. I know my Pc companion is ment to tell me automatically that there is an update for my phone available since my phone gets the message while i use it but the Pc companion doesnt.
A bit of a strange one here concerning the android market.I have trouble accessing the market and it seems to be an old version, however when I uninstall updates I get a much newer looking faster version thats works fine, however after an hour or so it has reverted back to the old, slow version.
I am unable to download or update android to v2.1. After i installed the PC Companion, it does not prompt me anything about the update of android 2.1. I dun think my x10 mini is still android 2.1.
Also, anyone knows how to move applications from phone to memory card?
I gladly installed the 2.1 update on my girlfriends mobile and everything worked fine. However, under "Settings - Language&Keyboard" there is NO menu item for Android keyboard.... As it appears, she uses the standard T3 enty mode and simple does not like the recommended words. There is no way to set it back now and I am thinking about playing it back to 1.6 despite the advantages coming with it.
I recently acquired a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro second hand, and on using the phone I discovered that it still had android 1.6 installed. I want to upgrade it to 2.1 and after scouring the internet for help I installed both the PC companion and the update service on my computer. However, whenever I connect my phone to my laptop both programmes say that the phone is up to date (even though it is still android 1.6). I even used the update service to reinstall the software on my phone, but still no luck.On the Sony-Ericsson product blog, my phone's SI number 1238-0204 is on the update rollout list, so I should be able to upgrade right? I'm using my O2 simcard inside a phone that is supposed to be locked to Tesco Mobile according to the box, but it works fine. Do you think that is why I can't upgrade?
I have been trying to update my phone with the latest software for last few days since I bought my phone. I am following all the steps as mentioned in on the PC companion. But after I have connected the phone back to the PC companion after disconnecting it as mentioned in step 2. Following this it doesnot proceed to step 3 nor is there any indication about an update in progress. If we do click to close this window it indicates that it is closing the update.
getting this update done without any difficulty? With no error messages..it is dificult to figure out what to do.
I purchased sony ericsson xperia mini pro SK17i last week. it came with android 2.3.3. I don't have any issues so far. I'm getting a message on my phone saying there is a new software update available(4.0.2.A.0.58). Before I update my phone to the latest firmware, I'd like to get some things cleared up.
1) If I update my phone from 2.3.3 to 4.0.2.A.0.58, the applications which are currently installed will stay?
2) Are there any known bugs in the latest version(4.0.2.A.0.58)?
3) After updating, If I find something unusual, is it possible to revert back to 2.3.3?
After my phone being update with android 2.1 my screen become weird..its vertical alignment has been wrong. The pic u can see by click this link... [URL].
