Dec 19, 2010
i used the android 1.6 then i try to upgrade to 2.1 using the pc companion, but it can't do as what it says. now the problem repeated again when i want to update to dual touch..
just did the latest upgrade on my x10 thru PC companion...it was done properly. However, I don't notice anything changed esp. on the dual touch (tried gallery/angry bird/browser and even multi touch tester), nothing happened. What's wrong? Is it possible the update actually missing some crucial files?

I just got HTC touch dual as a gift.I know that it's an old phone but so far I kinda like it except I can not get on the internet or receive MMS. I am on T-Mobile US. I received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?
My config: PC with AMD, Windows 7 64 Bit, 16GB RAM
The adapters are out there. Would any of them fit under the battery cover without bending it or it not securing correctly? maybe an adapter that you cut your sims to fit? Would the stock rom support it? or i would likely have to find a cooked rom to support dual sim right? I would prefer not to cut up my sim cards.
Does anyone know if the Telus HTC Touch Dual internal GPS was locked for use with their software only? I would like to use Garmin XT on it, but any gps software I try cannot acquire a GPS signal. Can this be unlocked with a registry edit?
When u search for software update in phone it says "you have the latest software and applications from sony ericsson. your phone is up to date." At present my android version is 2.3.4 and build number is 4.0.2.A.0.62. But when you download pc campanion it says "New Phone software version available (4.1.B.0.431)"After carrying out a software upgrade, note that:Android 4.0's hardware requirements are more advanced than previous software updates, so your phone's performance may be affected. Our commitment to offering you the best, means that once upgraded you will not be able to revert back to an older version of Android. To optimize your phone's performance, some applications may have been disabled and will not be visible on your screen. A new installed application called 'Performance Assistant' will help you enable these apps. Please also note that some 3rd party applications may not be compatible with Android 4.0. Please visit Google Play's marketplace to view apps that are compatible with Android 4.0 or contact the 3rd party developers directly for support.Flash support will be disabled, but this can be easily fixed by visiting Google Play's marketplace and downloading the latest available Adobe Flash player application. But when u find SI (Sales Item) released software table the software for xperia mini SI is 1248-9517 is released and available in PC Campanion where it can update for xperaia mini.
Q1] why it is not showing update available when try to update from phone? Is it not fully released/ not compatible/ any bug/error ?
Q2] If i update to Ice Cream Sandwich and if any problem occurs then can i revert back to an old version of android i.e gingerbread.?
The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.
I can't install PC companion 2.10.027 on my Windows 7 Ultimate / 64bit system.Until this version was released I was using version 2.02.002 and it was OK. Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed. After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds. When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.
this morning i have received an update of 4.1.B.0.431 in my pc companion but when i go fo r updating using pc companion in my laptop this error shows:Unable to install or start phone software update components?
my number SI 1255-8250 was already on the list, but still I cannot update via PC Companion, I'm from Chile and I have a neo V, my operator is Entel, contact them and does not intend to update, as I can get the latest update?
I would like to know do i need to update 2.1 in order to update 2.3.3 or Malaysia haven release 2.3.3? Because i cannot get 2.3.3 update using PC companion instead i get 2.1 update.
PC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.
I am thinking of updating my xperia ray to the latest build 4.1.B.0.431When I updated my phone to 4.0.3 i rooted it and removed most of the bloatwares. After doing that i didnt face most of the issues reported for 4.0.3 ICS release. Now my question is, If i update my phone to the latest build will it automatically unroot? Do i have to root it again using doomlords method?
My dad has the XPeria10 and wants to upgrade to 2.1 so I download the companion and the software updater and cant seem to get either one working. Im in the US and have AT&T?
I used PC Companion with my old Sony Ericsson phone. it was fine. had a lot of options.I bought Xperia Ray (currently running Android 4) and updated my pc companion to 2.10. the text message panel and several other stuff have gone altogether in PC Companion. all i have now is support zone, contacts setup and media go. i want text message, media transfer and all options that i had previously.
I have an X10 and seem to have rather a lot of trouble trying to update the software on my phone via PC Companion. The update stage gets up to step 2 (prepare) of step 4 and after about 90% of the way through I keep getting a message saying 'Installation error' and then 'unable to install or start phone software update components', then a couple more messages 'The update of software failed' and then 'Please try again, or consult Sony Ericsson support for assistant at http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phonesHere, I seem to get nowhere as there did not seem to be an answer and late last year I contacted Sony Ericsson who advised me to send my X10 to them which I did (via registered post).
I got it back but I still get messages everytime I connect the X10 via USB to my PCS and get a prompt saying 'New software available' and I am still getiing these messages and unable to update my X10. I've even uninstalled and re-installed PC Companion but that is not making any difference.
When I connected my xperia x10 mini phone to pc using pc companion and it shows that there is softwatre update is available.(I want to update it from 1.6 to 2.1). but it is failing in the 2nd stage only syaing installation failed.
I've been trying to update my phone through Sony PC Companion but it won't let me because there seems to be a problem with the Online Server. Will this go over in some time or what? This problem has been for almost a week now.
My Neo V has now, finally, had its SI Number added to the list of those for whom ICS has been released (on 2nd Sept 2012) but PC Companion does not find it. Have I to wait while the systems work out it is available ... or wha
