So I started to notice this a few weeks ago, My Droid 2 Global would automaticlly switch into silent mode all by itself at 10:00pm. No matter if it is in my pocket, or on my desk, or in the media dock. I find this to be quite annoying and missed a lot of calls and texts because of this. What I would like to know, is there a setting that control auto silent mode?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set up the D4 to vibrate on receipt of e-mails and text messages only when the phone is in Silent Mode? As far as I can tell, the only choices are for the notifications to vibrate all of the time or not at all. Even with Vibrate set to "only when silent," e-mails still vibrate when the ringer is turned up. Basically, I'd like everything (phone, e-mail, texts) to vibrate when in silent/vibrate mode, and to not vibrate when the ringer's turned up. I could do this pretty easily on my old HTC Incredible, but it eludes me on the D4. If this isn't possible with the stock system, are there any recommended apps that would to the trick?

I have the latest build (recieved in the soak test a little over a week ago), and have international roaming enabled with Verizon (verified this seveal times now). I've been all over France over the last several days, and have not been able to connect anywhere.I've tried, power cycling, hard reset, toggling nework mode (Global, CDMA, GSM), forcing GSM, and just about every setting configuration in the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*). The only thing I can see that may indicate a poblem (beside the fact that I can see, but can't connect to any GSM networks ) is that I can't select the EURO GSM radio band in the test menu.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I bought my wife a new D2 in December. A month ago it suddenly no longer saw the memory card. Verizon replaced it with a USED D2 Global. I hate Verizon. The replacement immediately had low in call volume and only a power off would fix it. They then sent another USED D2 Global. I hate Verizon. The replacement D2 Global arrived and guess what....low in call volume. Went back to the store and they're sending yet another. Really? How much of their shipping costs and my time are they going to waste? I'll keep taking it back and maybe after 10 replacements they'll realize how much shipping costs they've wasted.

Since they contain a 4G/LTE sim card, does that mean when you are in country with something less than VZW's 4G/LTE, will the phone drop down to a more universal band like HSPA (HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA+) and/or GSM (GPRS, Edge, E-Edge) and/or UMTS/WCDMA. Just trying to understand what a 'Global Capable' phone really means when we talk about the Razr Maxx what it will do when traveling abroad.

It doesn't work for Text messages or battery low, basically it "burned out." I've tried a data factory reset and still no go. I was thinking about warranty replacing the phone but I hate to do that for certain reasons. I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

Gettig a lot of notifications and I didn't want to keep having everyone be disturbed so I put the phone in silent mode. Sure enough my wife calls again; strangely I can hear her but she can't hear me and hangs up. Assuming that there was a problem with her signal I call her back to she if things cleared up. She still couldn't hear me and hung up again. I thought to turn silent mode off and attempt to call her again. She could hear me.

Initially I thought it was a speaker issue however all other notification sounds work (email, Facebook, etc).
I have cleared the cache (which takes forever) and factory reset.
I have restored to having it vibrate always and having moto assist tell me "you have a new text message from A to read say read" or "A is calling you to answer say answer" etc. Which is not ideal in most settings.
I have tried setting it on every ring level, nothing. I have played with every setting, nothing.
Now I'm missing countless calls.
Verizon XT1254 Moto Droid Turbo, android version 5.1.About once a week I notice that my phone is on silent ringer, I might catch a call because I feel the vibe, or see a missed call. I check where the ring volume is and the slider is all the way to the left on silent. Pushing the vol up hardware key does nothing, touch and slide the slider and it will snap back to silent as soon as you lift your finger. I do have moto assist set to silence the phone from 11pm to 730am, but this problem seems to happen during the day, not just stuck from the nightly mute and the moto assist notification is not up on the screen. If I require the phone to ring at night, there is no problem just moving the slider and moto assist does not interfere.
I have checked through settings, tried multiple ways to raise the volume but nothing works. The only fix is to turn off the phone and then back on again. BTW, what happened to the quick menu that was under the lock button with a long hold that would allow volume changes, vibe on or off, airplane mode and restart? My Gzone has all that under a long press of the lock button.
Since I updated last week, my phone has been randomly switching itself to a loud profile on its own.

I like the phone to be quiet in certain environments and this is killing me. I have had droid razors before and never had this issue.

When it stops working there is no sound for anything, dailer key pads, notifications, ringers, etc. It all just shuts off. The only way to restore sounds is by a restart. I have started trying to track it down, but I haven't found the cause yet.

Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.
