My Photon has developed an issue in the last couple weeks. For an unkown reason the sound quits working. When it stops working there is no sound for anything, dailer key pads, notifications, ringers, etc. It all just shuts off. The only way to restore sounds is by a restart. I have started trying to track it down, but I haven't found the cause yet.

I have been using the Photon for months but can not seem to find the area that manages when the Photon goes into silent mode.I thought it was in the custom battery mode. I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. I get fustrated and set it to ring when I first use the phone in the morning.Is there some file that I need to edit to get my time window in? This is driving me a bit nuts, lol.
It was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrom the last 3 days, after 3, 4pm, my photon turn silent, apears an icon with a bell and a red sign in front of it when i unlock de screen, when the screen is locked the bell that we move to the left to make the phone just vibrate has a bell with a line crossing in it, showing that it is silent. i looked in every place after clicked in Settings but i could not find some function that i changed, except the network configs that i move from automatic to gsm/umts only, to save more battery
View 5 Replies View RelatedI typically keep my phone on vibrate, I rarely turn on the ringer. I have a Smart Action setup for night time which turns the ringer/vibrate off to silent. I also have a work Smart Action setup which sets it to vibrate (just in the case I had turned on the ringer at some time). It seems that when these Smart Actions turn off (which the work one tends to do even when I'm at my desk at work, but that's a location issue talked about elsewhere) they tend to turn the ringer on to full volume even if I had it set to vibrate only beforehand.

As far as I can tell, the only choices are for the notifications to vibrate all of the time or not at all. Even with Vibrate set to "only when silent," e-mails still vibrate when the ringer is turned up. Basically, I'd like everything (phone, e-mail, texts) to vibrate when in silent/vibrate mode, and to not vibrate when the ringer's turned up. I could do this pretty easily on my old HTC Incredible, but it eludes me on the D4. If this isn't possible with the stock system, are there any recommended apps that would to the trick?

So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

View 8 Replies View Relatedhow do I get the photon to get "charge only" mode when connecting the photon to a pc?I have 2 operating systems, 1 tablet with windows 7 professional 32 bit tablet pc, and 1 laptop with windows xp professional 32 bit.Some other people were saying as soon as they plug in their photon to their PC, they can drop down the notification menu from where the clock, signal indicator is and see this option. I do not have this when trying to connect - all it does is "charge" but I am able to make/receive calls this way.Both OS's do not recognize the photon, and there are no errors in device manager.I also did the OTA update to MR5 from sprint over wifi.Is there a link to the application or correct drivers I need for this? Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.

I have tried all the tips I have found on this site and other sites. However, nothing seems to work. It only happens with people who have custom ring tones set.
