I need to do some testing with a UMTS femto cell. (reason behind my madness)Does anyone know if it is possible to flip the photon in a UMTS mode and then back to a normal state when done?
View 3 RepliesI tried to upgrade the iphone to ios 5.1.1 when the download was complete, phone went to recovery mode and the upgrade process failed, the phone never came back to normal mode.

my Nokia Web Browser after the site is completely loaded the broswer goes into full screen view mode and doesn't get back to its normal mode making it impossible for me to exit it manually which makes me yurn off my phone and then exit. Douple tapping doesn't help I have tried that it zooms in the and zooms out nothing else.
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust got the Atrix (ME860, Android 2.2.2) and I really liked the main screen's 3D style display of the 5 different sections (Weather, Tools, Messages, Main screen, etc.) where I could just swipe my finger and switch between them. But for some reason this option dissapeared (maybe when I installed the gmail app?). I can't see that little middle button on the bottom of the main page where I use to press and be able to flip between those 5 screens. Is there any way to get that back? (of course without resetting the phone back to factory settings).

Since charging it and turning it back on, it does not work!To begin with, every time I turned it on, I would press buttons and nothing happened. One time I turned it on and it asked me to enter the time and date (impossible since pressing anything didn't work). I have now learnt that I can get away with using the keypad for a while after turning it on, but if I should happen to touch the screen, it either goes back to its unresponsive, stalling, state, or it tells me that there is a system error. I am running firmware 21.0.45.

I've seen some claims that setting to Automatic improves 3G performance (and a short test did seem to confirm that), whereas some people have recommended Any CDMA. I was on Automatic on the way to work today and experienced spotty 3G connectivity--causative or coincidence?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure that i'm the only one with this issue, but I have a custom ringtone set for both my calls and my notifications. Now what happens is when i plug my phone into my pc and use it as a mass storage drive (at least I think its whats causing the problem) my ringtones automatically switch from my custom ones to the default ones. This gets to be really aggravating to have to change them both back everytime, especially since I have an additional silent ringtone for all the oter notification sounds that you cant turn off (facebook, e-mail, and plugging the device in to the PC) which may I add, is an issue within an issue but I can live with it. My files are in the internal memory, not on the SD card and in the default media/audio/notifications or ringtones.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOver the last week I've noticed sudden power loss on my Photon. It will go blank without warning. Plug it in and it will show 0%-10% battery power. Watch the screen and it will sometimes jump back up suddenly. From 10-20% to 100% before my eyes. I'm guessing it's a battery or phone issue. Don't see any other discussions about this. Planning on brining the phone in soon

View 8 Replies View RelatedI shut my Photon down and plug it in and it turns back on. I plug it in and power it down and it turns back on. I power down, remove the battery for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery and plug it in and it turns back on. No new software or apps that I'm aware of. It just started doing this today and we've had it for six months.

I just updated my HEX MEID in this forum profile. My phone did the initial reboot but came back with Update Failed.Update Motorola Software says. An Update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete. There is no indication anything is happening. It's been this way for close to an hour now.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been using the Photon for months but can not seem to find the area that manages when the Photon goes into silent mode.I thought it was in the custom battery mode. I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. I get fustrated and set it to ring when I first use the phone in the morning.Is there some file that I need to edit to get my time window in? This is driving me a bit nuts, lol.
So I noticed in Chrome the virtual keyboard doesn't load in portrait mode. Also I noticed that the qwerty keyboard is unable to capitialize letters. also function button seems to be disabled making signing into anything in chrome virtually impossible.

Overall, I am very impressed with the phone, however my wife's is randomly rebooting, and will not turn back on without disconnecting the battery or plugging back into the wall. I have seen a few reports of this online and was just wondering if there is a fix or if I should take it in for a trade? Kind of worried if mine will start doing this also. View 5 Replies View Relatedmy ATRIX 4G toggles from UMTS to HSPA and back all the time. i see that on the mobile network type under settings--> about phone--> status.
After each of these toggles the mobile network state (same status menu) is connecting (and then connected until next toggle)
i suspect this phenomena to be the reason that my internet connection is unstable (disconnected very often). I'm using original ROM w. MotoBlur of course. any way i could just disable the HSPA and check if the UMTS is enought ?
Occurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine.Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.

However... when I put my phone in this case, it immediately goes into sleep mode and I can't wake it up unless I take it completely out of the case. And even then the touch screen doesn't work and I have to do a hard reboot by holding the Power - Home - Volume keys.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI received my Flip 8230 today and have not yet had the chance to activate it and probably won't until tomorrow or Friday. I've been playing with it though to get a good feel for it, and I've noticed that there's no browser installed nor is there any MMS folder or option when sending a picture. I did a search on both issues and found one thread in which it was suggested to resend the service books to remedy the browser problem, so I'll do that as soon as it's hooked up.
What worries me more though is the lack of an MMS folder or MMS option when trying to send a picture. (I can't actually send one of course since my phone isn't activated yet, but the option should still be there.) I did a search on that as well and did find a couple threads about it, but neither really contain an answer to the problem. How do I fix it? I'll be pretty sad if I can't do MMS with this phone.

I bought a D6633 on Tuesday and the phone updated itself as soon as I took it out of the box, so I have been on Android L almost all the time, the thing is, my phone lasts longer on normal mode than it does on stamina mode. I literally see 2 days on standby and almost 5 on normal mode.

It went straight to Android system recovery and now every time I push reboot system now, it goes right back to the system recovery page, and when I take my phone battery out and put it back in, it still does the same.
