I shut my Photon down and plug it in and it turns back on. I plug it in and power it down and it turns back on. I power down, remove the battery for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery and plug it in and it turns back on. No new software or apps that I'm aware of. It just started doing this today and we've had it for six months.

I have had an issue recently where the 4G on my Photon just turns off. Not just disconnecting, but turning off. I am in an area with 4G and I use it often. Has anyone seen this happen? Is there a way to "reset" the 4G settings? I am not rooted stock Version 45.3.6?

The only way to turn it back on is by removing and replacing the battery. I have many apps installed, but this has happened with a fully loaded phone and a recently formatted phone, so that's not the issue. Any type of metal surface causes the phone to turn off. Some examples: inside my desk drawer, on a metal table at a restaurant, on top of a napkin dispenser.I reiterate: this has happened when the phone is brand new, untouched, and when the phone is fully loaded. It also ONLY happens on metal, and has never once turned off while sitting on any other surface.
I am listening to music, no matter which app, and if i get a call after I hang up my speaker phone turns on and plays the music as well as the headphones or speaker I have plugged in. I use Pandora, internal music player or power amp. The only way for it to stop is by restarting completely.

I beleive one problem caused the other - 1st i couldnt charge my batter in the wall so i wanted to see if it was the charger - grab'd my evo charger and still nothing so i pluged it up to the usb and my pc isnt recognizing the device. Drvers were already instaqll and i used the Moto Media Link to sync music and pic yesterday. Ive hardkey reset my phone, now its charging but still not getting anywhere with the usb connection.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince my PHOTON wouldn't charge when I plugged it into my HP (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit) with the cable that came with it, I've installed the Motorola USB Drivers on my HP laptop and selected "Charge Only" as the USB connection option. The PHOTON still does not charge. When I connect to a different laptop, it does charge without downloading any drivers.
I think the problem is the PHOTON requires more than 500mA, but the HP laptop is not letting more power to the USB ports. I've tried all 3 USB ports with no success.
how to remove the power limitations on the USB ports on an HP?
You unplug your phone after charging it but the indicator still shows as though the phone is still connected to the charger. The only way to get this back to normal again is to power cycle the phone. Plugging it back in and unplugging it again will not make it go away once this has happened.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure that i'm the only one with this issue, but I have a custom ringtone set for both my calls and my notifications. Now what happens is when i plug my phone into my pc and use it as a mass storage drive (at least I think its whats causing the problem) my ringtones automatically switch from my custom ones to the default ones. This gets to be really aggravating to have to change them both back everytime, especially since I have an additional silent ringtone for all the oter notification sounds that you cant turn off (facebook, e-mail, and plugging the device in to the PC) which may I add, is an issue within an issue but I can live with it. My files are in the internal memory, not on the SD card and in the default media/audio/notifications or ringtones.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOver the last week I've noticed sudden power loss on my Photon. It will go blank without warning. Plug it in and it will show 0%-10% battery power. Watch the screen and it will sometimes jump back up suddenly. From 10-20% to 100% before my eyes. I'm guessing it's a battery or phone issue. Don't see any other discussions about this. Planning on brining the phone in soon

I just updated my HEX MEID in this forum profile. My phone did the initial reboot but came back with Update Failed.Update Motorola Software says. An Update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete. There is no indication anything is happening. It's been this way for close to an hour now.

Overall, I am very impressed with the phone, however my wife's is randomly rebooting, and will not turn back on without disconnecting the battery or plugging back into the wall. View 3 Replies View RelatedOccurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine.Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.

Over the last few days I've noticed when I charge my iPhone from dead, it turns on straight away instead of waiting until 4% like it used to, if I'm charging it by USB then it will switch on straight away and then get to the lock screen and then switch off straight away, and keep doing this until I unplug it.

The problem I'm facing is that when ever the phone screen turns off (whether it's me turning it off or the screen timing out) the wireless charging pauses, stops and then starts again giving this little beep sound. I thought nothing of it and left it 'charging' overnight and in the morning it had charged from 8% to 3%...
Is there something I'm not doing right? Should it wirelessly charge while the screen is off?
