Jul 30, 2012having an issue where notification sounds stop working after my photon has been on for 12 to 18 hours. The phone will still vibrate and function fine except for ringing or letting me know about alert/alarms. I am on the latest firmware 45.4.13 but this issue has been ongoing for the past 3 firmware upgrades I have done. I have done factore resets multiple times and ran nothing but stock apps for a full month but it contnues to happen. Honestly it does not bother me to remember to reboot by phone each night but i have missed two VERY important calls because I was in another room and did not hear it ring.

Tried forums but no concrete solution.

Aug 28, 2011Anyone having issue with the Photon not charging and connecting to pc's usb. I beleive one problem caused the other - 1st i couldnt charge my batter in the wall so i wanted to see if it was the charger - grab'd my evo charger and still nothing so i pluged it up to the usb and my pc isnt recognizing the device. Drvers were already instaqll and i used the Moto Media Link to sync music and pic yesterday. Ive hardkey reset my phone, now its charging but still not getting anywhere with the usb connection.

Nov 26, 2011Since my PHOTON wouldn't charge when I plugged it into my HP (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit) with the cable that came with it, I've installed the Motorola USB Drivers on my HP laptop and selected "Charge Only" as the USB connection option. The PHOTON still does not charge. When I connect to a different laptop, it does charge without downloading any drivers.
I think the problem is the PHOTON requires more than 500mA, but the HP laptop is not letting more power to the USB ports. I've tried all 3 USB ports with no success.

Motorola Photon 4G :: Indicator Light Doesn't Work
Dec 9, 2011Since I bought my Photon earlier this week, I immediately noticed that the indicator light didn't, well, indicate. Anything, ever, at all. It didn't even light up when charging. I know this is not a burned-out LED because I've installed an app which fixes most of the problems, the app is called Light Flow. Its only limitations on the Photon are that it can't light the indicator for battery charge events/status, and it may not be able to show all the colors, but I do have it working for missed call/text, email, bluetooth on, etc. The issue is, I shouldn't need an app to do this and I want the indicator LED to show battery charge status.

Aug 1, 2011i'm having is that although the light sensor seems to be functioning according to various sensor tests, brightness isn't automatically adjusting and the "in-pocket protection" thing isn't turning the phone off when I stick it in my pocket.

I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?

Oct 10, 2011You unplug your phone after charging it but the indicator still shows as though the phone is still connected to the charger. The only way to get this back to normal again is to power cycle the phone. Plugging it back in and unplugging it again will not make it go away once this has happened.

Mar 5, 2012I shut my Photon down and plug it in and it turns back on. I plug it in and power it down and it turns back on. I power down, remove the battery for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery and plug it in and it turns back on. No new software or apps that I'm aware of. It just started doing this today and we've had it for six months.

-it appears that BB is draining the battery from a full charge battery after unplugging and powering on....w/out any use of unit.

Motorola Droid 4 :: Indicator Light While Charging?
Mar 1, 2012The feature i miss the most from my droid 2 days is the little indicator light to know that the phone is charging... I realize that light was left off this phone and moved to the caps lock key. But wondering if there was a way of turning in the indicator light when the phone is charging like when i get a notification that i have a text message. My Wifes incredible 2 indiciator light turns red when it is charging and i beleive turns white when it is finished. Its just a lot easier for me to look at my phone and see it is charging vs having to unlock my phone to see if it is charging or see it on the lock screen. Sometimes my charges becomes unplugged and i was always quick to know with the droid 2 that it had happend. vs waking up the next morning with my droid 4 thinking it was charging and nothing all along. Is there a feature i'm missing or is it possible to have this in an upcoming update?

May 12, 2010I have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.
Motorola Photon 4G :: HDMI Mirroring Not Working?
Sep 9, 2011I'm trying to setup the HDMI mirroring from my Photon, but can't get it to work. When I hook the hdmi cable to the phone, something happens because the Motorola logo shows up on the TV, but I don't get a prompt to select mirroring or video out. From what I've read, that's what I expected would happen.Any ideas what could be happening? Could this possibly be a defect in the phone? Some software setup issue? The only HDMI setting I can find is hte display area, and changing that doesn't affect this.

Sep 8, 2011I have a 2010 ford focus with the sync system. Every feature on the system used to work well with my bbry but now I have some issues with the photon.
1. When I use the bluetooth connection to try to stream pandora, my library starts to play automatically. It will run both applications simultaneously until I turn one off.
2. It only connects automatically about 50% of the time when I enter the car. I have two phones installed. The photon is the #1, my wife's evo is #2. It automatically connects to the evo upon entering the car with both phones, desite repeatedly re-installing. I need both installed because we trade cars often and it's a pain to re-install hers every time. it used to work fine with evo & bbry.
3. My music library does not show
On the plus side the photon lets me respond to text messages with the voice to text feature and the radio range is so good that if I move the car from out front into the driveway 60+ft away, the blue tooth STILL connects.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Social Networking App Isn't Working
Jan 10, 2012I've had my Photon for a few weeks now and the Social Networking App has never worked for me. I've setup all my accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), but when I open the app, the only thing that comes up is the option "Add a social network". I've ended up installing TweetDeck so I can get all my social media updates in one app.

Sep 16, 2011I just installed the 45.2.7.MB855 update on my Sprint Photon 4G and now both my WiFi and 4G wont turn on. When I go into Wireless & Network Settings and click on WiFi, all it says is Error and nothing happens. When I try to turn in 4G nothing seems to happen.I am able to turn on Bluetooth and 3G took a couple of Profile updates to get working.
