Oct 15, 2011Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I type the address into my browser, and it says the link is broken. Does it have to be through firefox?

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Portal File Manager Not Working?
Jun 17, 2011I'm a smart phone user for a whole month now, so you may need to type slowly because I'm still pretty ignorant.'m trying to figure out the best way to get music onto my Atrix. The music right now would mostly come from CDs. I can never seem to make Windows Media Player do what I want it to do, and so syncing from that has not been much fun, although it has partially been successful.I just discovered Moto Phone Portal (MPP), and so I thought I might use that to transfer music by just moving files by WiFi, but I cannot get the File Manager in MPP to work. All other parts of the software appear to work just fine. When I click on the File Manager tab, and then choose either "Internal" or "External", nothing happens after that. I prefer the WiFi to USB since I'm too lazy to drag out the USB cable.This is on a Windows Vista computer, using either Firefox 4 or Internet Explorer 9 (same result either way).

Jan 24, 2012using Photon 4G with Airtel prepaid sim with system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en, Whenever I run short codes (USSD codes) like *123# to check my prepaid GSM balance or interact with service provider by *121# it takes long time showing USSD code running.. and after few mins either shows MMI successfully complete or MMI failed but doesnt actually show the text which is shown in my other GSM phones; to query balance or activate some service. Tried forums but no concrete solution.

It has been in the following state for about 4.5 hours:"An update is currently being downloaded.You will be notified when the download is complete" My guess is that it should not take 4.5 hours to download on WIFI.Is this 'hung'? Sep 9, 2011I'm trying to setup the HDMI mirroring from my Photon, but can't get it to work. When I hook the hdmi cable to the phone, something happens because the Motorola logo shows up on the TV, but I don't get a prompt to select mirroring or video out. From what I've read, that's what I expected would happen.Any ideas what could be happening? Could this possibly be a defect in the phone? Some software setup issue? The only HDMI setting I can find is hte display area, and changing that doesn't affect this.

Sep 8, 2011I have a 2010 ford focus with the sync system. Every feature on the system used to work well with my bbry but now I have some issues with the photon.
1. When I use the bluetooth connection to try to stream pandora, my library starts to play automatically. It will run both applications simultaneously until I turn one off.
2. It only connects automatically about 50% of the time when I enter the car. I have two phones installed. The photon is the #1, my wife's evo is #2. It automatically connects to the evo upon entering the car with both phones, desite repeatedly re-installing. I need both installed because we trade cars often and it's a pain to re-install hers every time. it used to work fine with evo & bbry.
3. My music library does not show
On the plus side the photon lets me respond to text messages with the voice to text feature and the radio range is so good that if I move the car from out front into the driveway 60+ft away, the blue tooth STILL connects.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Social Networking App Isn't Working
Jan 10, 2012I've had my Photon for a few weeks now and the Social Networking App has never worked for me. I've setup all my accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), but when I open the app, the only thing that comes up is the option "Add a social network". I've ended up installing TweetDeck so I can get all my social media updates in one app.

Sep 16, 2011I just installed the 45.2.7.MB855 update on my Sprint Photon 4G and now both my WiFi and 4G wont turn on. When I go into Wireless & Network Settings and click on WiFi, all it says is Error and nothing happens. When I try to turn in 4G nothing seems to happen.I am able to turn on Bluetooth and 3G took a couple of Profile updates to get working.

I have tried restarting phone multiple times, tried various sets of headphones, brought it into Sprint store for troubleshooting, taken out battery for longer than 5 minutes, etc. I am very dissapointed that Motorola has said they will not send me another phone while investigating the problem with this one

Oct 28, 2011After I update the PRL on this phone my 3G data stops working for anywhere between 1 minute and 5 minutes. It's like the phone completely loses contact with the EVDO network for up to 5 minutes before it wakes up and finds the signal again. Never happened on previous phones. Another firmware bug? Not a big deal but thought it was worth mentioning.

Sep 9, 2011I've seen this issue posted, but no updates or feedback in a while. While on a call the screen does not turn off, and I am constantly hanging up on people. I have installed the recent update that fixed the no call audio issue, and have rebooted the phone several times. The reboot will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I have also played with the pocket detection setting, and that does not make a difference. I do use bluetooth, and am thinking that it has something to do with it.

Nov 13, 2011I purchased my Photon at the end of September, and for the most part it has been the greatest phone I have ever used. That is, until my camera stopped working correctly! I launch the camera app, and the screen switches to landscape and the camera initializes, but it will not focus!! I have to tap the screen very hard and rapidly for it to force focus, and any situation other than bright daylight will not focus at all. The phone does not even make that little clicking noise that I think it made when going into camera mode, which I believe meant that the shutter is activating (right??).
This happened once before to me, and I took the phone to a Sprint store. The rep simply toggled the image resolution from 3mp to 5mp and back, and it worked. I then left the store feeling like a dope.....until the next week when it started happening again. Now, I've tried everything to get the camera to work again, but nothing.

Dec 3, 2011I've had this problem on and off since getting my Photon, but now I can't seem to fix it after power recycles, battery pulls, and uninstalling new apps.
When I press the microphone key on the keyboard to use voice dictation, all I see is the microphone with a red line through it and a message above that saying "Voice Initializing" and it just hangs there. I've let it do that as long as five minutes, but with no success. I can still use the Google voice search bar and the voice commands app, just can't do voice from the keyboard.

I was looking for an older email I could not find yesterday, so I decided to change my sync window from 3 day to 30 days. Right after that, all emails disappeared, and no matter how many times I tried to manually sync, nothng would show up again. Interestingly I can see all my folders, but all my folders say "no messages". Of course, when I access hotmail any other way (through Windows Live Mail on my PC or through the web, all the email is there). I have deleted the hotmail corporate sync account from the phone twice and re-setup twice, both times the installations were successful. I can always see the mail folders, but no mail messages. I also tested and found that I can send an email through hotmail.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Sound Stops Working / Phone Will Still Vibrate And function Fine?
Jul 30, 2012having an issue where notification sounds stop working after my photon has been on for 12 to 18 hours. The phone will still vibrate and function fine except for ringing or letting me know about alert/alarms. I am on the latest firmware 45.4.13 but this issue has been ongoing for the past 3 firmware upgrades I have done. I have done factore resets multiple times and ran nothing but stock apps for a full month but it contnues to happen. Honestly it does not bother me to remember to reboot by phone each night but i have missed two VERY important calls because I was in another room and did not hear it ring.

It is now not even giving me error messages, and Motocast isn't starting up anymore when I plug it into my computer. I don't have wi-fi as that would involve having to buy a TV and various other unneeded things to get a wi-fi package, so I use a dongle for my internet. I am really unhappy about the service from Motorola and the fact that they've released a great idea before it's actually ready to be used.

Jun 20, 2012I synced up my run wirelessly and on the watch it says it successfully completed. I sign on to the website, and I notice the new splash screen (portal update?) and my run is not on it. I can't even view the runs at all. Anytime I click on past runs, it just has those new screens telling me all the cool things portal can do.
Is this because of the updating? I'm on 1.7.3 N8, and new motocast software too.
I like my MOTOACTV, just want some type of clarity on problems. I'd rather see a "site down for a scheduled maintenance" than not being able to do anything on the site.
