Moto Phone Portal - when I choose "Compose" a new SMS and click "send to" if I try to drag a contact from the list at the right nothing happens - they can't be dragged, and if I try to copy and paste the contact's number - when I click paste the number shows momentartily then disappears! View 5 RepliesI'm a smart phone user for a whole month now, so you may need to type slowly because I'm still pretty ignorant.'m trying to figure out the best way to get music onto my Atrix. The music right now would mostly come from CDs. I can never seem to make Windows Media Player do what I want it to do, and so syncing from that has not been much fun, although it has partially been successful.I just discovered Moto Phone Portal (MPP), and so I thought I might use that to transfer music by just moving files by WiFi, but I cannot get the File Manager in MPP to work. All other parts of the software appear to work just fine. When I click on the File Manager tab, and then choose either "Internal" or "External", nothing happens after that. I prefer the WiFi to USB since I'm too lazy to drag out the USB cable.This is on a Windows Vista computer, using either Firefox 4 or Internet Explorer 9 (same result either way).

I'm not even sure where or how to search for the answer.I am a former Blackberry user and, as with my Atrix, my phone can be turned on but is non-accessible without a passcode, finger swipe, etc. However, with my Blackberry, as soon as the phone was turned on, I had my name and work telephone number typed on the wallpaper, asking to be contacted if my telephone was found. I haven't found a way to put the same info on my Atrix. Perhaps creating my own wallpaper?

Now I have my name in the contacts with no info except for the name. I also have my name and all info in the contacts. I tried to merge but it won't let anything merge with the user name on the phone. If I have too I will add all of the info manually so there is only one profile in contacts but will I have the same problem when I get another new phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get my phone to communicate with Moto Cast USB. I use Zumocast for wireless, but I wanted to use Moto Cast to sync my music and videos over USB. When I plug the USB in everything starts up automatically. A screen pops up and tells me its preparing my device, then another screen pops up telling me to wait while it loads content. However, this second screen has a large yellow triangle with an exclamation in it and lists things to try if you are having connection issues. I have tried every USB option I have on the phone, it seems to force the connection back to USB mass storage, so I assume that is where it needs to be.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am in a call, the dialer stays on like I have set it to. However, it intermittently refuses to accept the tones. For example, with AT&T VM, it says press 7 to delete the message. I press 7, the phone makes the tone associated with 7, but doesn't do the action associated with 7. It will do it with other phone trees too, like "press 1 for English", etc. The numbers that don't work vary as well, and sometimes it works fine.

I tried to swipe open the lock screen just now, the screen went blank, the sensors don't respond to to me trying to access it, and pressing he power button does nothing. I am unable to send a contact detail to another mobile via SMS. Tried going trough contacts, select contact, menu, share, selecting text message. MMS gets selected automatically. After adding recipient & touching send an icon appears in the notification bar & disappears after some time. After some more time a message apears in the notification bar saying that the message was not sent.

I know some people hate this feature because it seems to wake up the phone unnecessarily, but in terms of impact to battery it's minuscule to none.
I actually like this feature because using the power button to wake up the phone seems rather inconvenient after having gotten used to the approach feature.
The problem is that it suddenly stopped working for me. I know that people are going to ask if I enabled this in the moto actions menu, it's definitely turned on. I rebooted the phone several times with it on and off. None of those measures have worked.
I just recently performed the 4.5.91 update on my phone, and it has altered/edited my contacts. The older software allowed for birthday/anniversary information. Cannot figure out how to add this information back to my contacts. For the "few" that actually still showed the birthday/anniversary information, either the dates are off or they just appear as a group of numbers. When I try to delete the incorrect/altered information, it doesn't give me the ability to do that.

I am using Gmail Calendar. I have subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar using the Gmail web interface. The Android Calendar App lists this calendar as synchronized and visible. Unfortunately, the anniversary, birthday, and other events from the calendar do not display. I purchased the CalenGoo App to troubleshoot this issue. CalenGoo also fails to display the the "Contacts' birthdays and events" content via the Android account. However, if I manually add my same Gmail account to CalenGoo and allow it to sync independently, then the events appear as expected. This indicates that Android is not actually synchronizing the events from this calendar, although the UI reports that it is.
I have tried deleting the Calendar Data from the phone, removing and re-adding the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Gmail, and re-syncing on Android various times. These actions had no effect.Is anyone with a Motorola Atrix HD seeing this behavior, or getting the contact birthdays and anniversaries to display?
i went to at&t store to get my contacts added to my new Atrix and when i got home i could not change anything on them i went to edit and they all said "PRESET CONTACT from at&t (name of contact)! Preset contact information is not editable on this device.(Phone#)"is there any way to over ride this or what should i do?

This needs to be done, occasionally, in order to freshly repopulate the contacts, and not end up with duplicates in the phone. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed one contact (from my Google Contacts) that I've marked as a "Favorite" that absolutely will not appear in the contact list when I open the Contact app. If I get a call or message from that person, All of the relevant contact information shows and in fact I can go directly to a Contact card for that person from either text messages, call log entries, and email. The only way I cannot see the contact is in the contact list with one small exception. The only time I can see the contact in question is if I go to the dialer app and select the "Favorites" tab.
The contact appears in the favorites list. The contact record shows a link to a Google profile, but the contact never shows up in the contact app. I've tried various things to try and get the contact to show in the contacts list, but nothing seems to work. I'm not running any special apps for email, or texting. I do not have Facebook or Twitter included in Motoblur (in fact make minimal use of Motoblur). I use the "official Twitter and Facebook apps. Last night, I did a factory reset as a last resort, but it did not change anything.
I imported my contact via phone portal with a Motorola backup file (*.bak) and selected Motorola Services for contacts storage. However, as time passes, my contacts keep growing with hundreds of copies with each entry. I mean when I select a contact an choose "Edit Contact" list shows me hundreds of same entries, as a result phone becomes unresponsive while trying to open "Edit Contact" activity. At the same time this causes general unresponsiveness on the phone because I think it fills memory and tries to garbage collect for a long time (I inferred these by looking "adb shell logcat" and "adb shell dumpsys meminfo". When I run "adb shell dumpsys meminfo" command while trying to open "edit contact, it became hung in that process)Can Turkish characters in my contacts cause this problem?
