I am trying to download the 45.4.13 update. It has been in the following state for about 4.5 hours:"An update is currently being downloaded.You will be notified when the download is complete" My guess is that it should not take 4.5 hours to download on WIFI.Is this 'hung'? Do you need to restart or something?
View 5 Repliesusing Photon 4G with Airtel prepaid sim with system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en, Whenever I run short codes (USSD codes) like *123# to check my prepaid GSM balance or interact with service provider by *121# it takes long time showing USSD code running.. and after few mins either shows MMI successfully complete or MMI failed but doesnt actually show the text which is shown in my other GSM phones; to query balance or activate some service. Tried forums but no concrete solution.

My old smart phone HTC HERO, was able to download from anywhere, not connected to a hot spot or wifi... I buy a phone that is supposed to be faster and better, but I'm not seeing it. I have only had the phone for 3 days, and i'm already starting to think I have made a bad decision. We do not have 4G in the area, but even 3G is faster then this phone.

Ive downloaded apps like readers and a different yahoo app but no luck - still unable to download those attachments. I havnt found any know issues or anything to support what im saying so maybe Im the only one.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe Sprint manual says you can download music via Windows Media Player or MML , but once you load your music via Media Player, if you use then Motorola you will end up with two seperate files that will use your memory. From the Media player you will have a file called Music,and from Motorola you will have a file MML Mobile.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup the HDMI mirroring from my Photon, but can't get it to work. When I hook the hdmi cable to the phone, something happens because the Motorola logo shows up on the TV, but I don't get a prompt to select mirroring or video out. From what I've read, that's what I expected would happen.Any ideas what could be happening? Could this possibly be a defect in the phone? Some software setup issue? The only HDMI setting I can find is hte display area, and changing that doesn't affect this.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a 2010 ford focus with the sync system. Every feature on the system used to work well with my bbry but now I have some issues with the photon.
1. When I use the bluetooth connection to try to stream pandora, my library starts to play automatically. It will run both applications simultaneously until I turn one off.
2. It only connects automatically about 50% of the time when I enter the car. I have two phones installed. The photon is the #1, my wife's evo is #2. It automatically connects to the evo upon entering the car with both phones, desite repeatedly re-installing. I need both installed because we trade cars often and it's a pain to re-install hers every time. it used to work fine with evo & bbry.
3. My music library does not show
On the plus side the photon lets me respond to text messages with the voice to text feature and the radio range is so good that if I move the car from out front into the driveway 60+ft away, the blue tooth STILL connects.
I've had my Photon for a few weeks now and the Social Networking App has never worked for me. I've setup all my accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), but when I open the app, the only thing that comes up is the option "Add a social network". I've ended up installing TweetDeck so I can get all my social media updates in one app.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just installed the 45.2.7.MB855 update on my Sprint Photon 4G and now both my WiFi and 4G wont turn on. When I go into Wireless & Network Settings and click on WiFi, all it says is Error and nothing happens. When I try to turn in 4G nothing seems to happen.I am able to turn on Bluetooth and 3G took a couple of Profile updates to get working.

I have tried restarting phone multiple times, tried various sets of headphones, brought it into Sprint store for troubleshooting, taken out battery for longer than 5 minutes, etc. I am very dissapointed that Motorola has said they will not send me another phone while investigating the problem with this one

I can send emails from my Yahoo account to my work email but cannot download and view the emails in my Yahoo inbox. I have a Photon 4G. I have tried all steps through WI-FI, 4G, and 3G - with same result.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter I update the PRL on this phone my 3G data stops working for anywhere between 1 minute and 5 minutes. It's like the phone completely loses contact with the EVDO network for up to 5 minutes before it wakes up and finds the signal again. Never happened on previous phones. Another firmware bug? Not a big deal but thought it was worth mentioning.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen this issue posted, but no updates or feedback in a while. While on a call the screen does not turn off, and I am constantly hanging up on people. I have installed the recent update that fixed the no call audio issue, and have rebooted the phone several times. The reboot will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I have also played with the pocket detection setting, and that does not make a difference. I do use bluetooth, and am thinking that it has something to do with it.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI purchased my Photon at the end of September, and for the most part it has been the greatest phone I have ever used. That is, until my camera stopped working correctly! I launch the camera app, and the screen switches to landscape and the camera initializes, but it will not focus!! I have to tap the screen very hard and rapidly for it to force focus, and any situation other than bright daylight will not focus at all. The phone does not even make that little clicking noise that I think it made when going into camera mode, which I believe meant that the shutter is activating (right??).
This happened once before to me, and I took the phone to a Sprint store. The rep simply toggled the image resolution from 3mp to 5mp and back, and it worked. I then left the store feeling like a dope.....until the next week when it started happening again. Now, I've tried everything to get the camera to work again, but nothing.
When I charge my phone, I noticed that the notification LED does not light up at the corner to let me know its charging.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem on and off since getting my Photon, but now I can't seem to fix it after power recycles, battery pulls, and uninstalling new apps.
When I press the microphone key on the keyboard to use voice dictation, all I see is the microphone with a red line through it and a message above that saying "Voice Initializing" and it just hangs there. I've let it do that as long as five minutes, but with no success. I can still use the Google voice search bar and the voice commands app, just can't do voice from the keyboard.
I can use other input methods but when I select Swype the keyboard never appears. Is there a way to re-install it?

I was looking for an older email I could not find yesterday, so I decided to change my sync window from 3 day to 30 days. Right after that, all emails disappeared, and no matter how many times I tried to manually sync, nothng would show up again. Interestingly I can see all my folders, but all my folders say "no messages". Of course, when I access hotmail any other way (through Windows Live Mail on my PC or through the web, all the email is there). I have deleted the hotmail corporate sync account from the phone twice and re-setup twice, both times the installations were successful. I can always see the mail folders, but no mail messages. I also tested and found that I can send an email through hotmail.
I cannot receive any MMS messages when I am roaming. I received a text with a picture attachment and I could not download the attachment because it came up with an error that said I had no data connectivity. The 3g data symbol was up and blue in color and worked because I was able to text via data roaming.I can send and receive calls and text messages while roaming, just could not get the MMS picture. I had everything checked correctly, data roam and call roam were both checked. The only way I could get it was to get to an area where I had sprint service to download. Is this a known problem? Where I work deep in the building I am usually roaming.

The phone will still vibrate and function fine except for ringing or letting me know about alert/alarms. I am on the latest firmware 45.4.13 but this issue has been ongoing for the past 3 firmware upgrades I have done. I have done factore resets multiple times and ran nothing but stock apps for a full month but it contnues to happen. Honestly it does not bother me to remember to reboot by phone each night but i have missed two VERY important calls because I was in another room and did not hear it ring.

Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.

The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.
