View 1 RepliesIs there a way to set up the D4 to vibrate on receipt of e-mails and text messages only when the phone is in Silent Mode? As far as I can tell, the only choices are for the notifications to vibrate all of the time or not at all. Even with Vibrate set to "only when silent," e-mails still vibrate when the ringer is turned up. Basically, I'd like everything (phone, e-mail, texts) to vibrate when in silent/vibrate mode, and to not vibrate when the ringer's turned up. I could do this pretty easily on my old HTC Incredible, but it eludes me on the D4. If this isn't possible with the stock system, are there any recommended apps that would to the trick?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I set my phone to either vibrate or be silent, when I get a text or whats app or some other sort of notification, it rings instead of vibrate. I like the phone to be quiet in certain environments and this is killing me. I have had droid razors before and never had this issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to find easiest way to do this and cannot find it. It was easy on Galaxy S3 as it appeared on top of status bar and all you had to do is push to change it. Does the HTC One have a similar button/thing? Is there an app or widget I can download to be able to do this?
View 17 Replies View RelatedProbably the silliest and easiest to find but for some reason I cannot find how to put my phone to silent mode and or turn off the vibrate setting. Every notification that comes through vibrates even though I don't have the vibrate setting on.

My iPhone 5 doesn't vibrate when a call comes-in and in Silent mode.
The option is turned-on in settings to Vibrate the phone with ring or in Silent mode. Tried resetting the phone to factory settings and restored back from iTunes, same issue.

I was wondering if someone could help. I own an iPhone 3Gs and for some reason when in silent mode, the phone doesnt vibrate when i receive a new text message (sms). It vibrates when I receive a call in silent mode, and also when i receive a reminder from Intelliscreen alerting me of a missed call or new sms.
Basically the vibration function works for everything except when i receive a new sms in silent mode and when i flip the swtich from silent to ring (and vice versa).
Due to the above, i can only assume that its not a hardware issue since it does actually vibrate. this happened a few months after purchasing (and jailbreaking) the phone so i can only assume that this is being caused by an app that I have installed since it was fine for the first few months. I have checked the settings on the phone a million times (vibrate is on for silent and ring) and I cant work out why this is happening.
I have statusnotifier, ireal sms (v2) and quicksms installed. i dont know if they're causing the issue but i have installed them and the prob still remains. Is anybody else having the same problem or can advise on how to solve the problem? ive searched long and hard on the net and connot find a solution.
It is my understanding there is an application that will allow a phone to be located by calling the phone. It is supposed to work when the phone is in silent or vibrate mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI typically keep my phone on vibrate, I rarely turn on the ringer. I have a Smart Action setup for night time which turns the ringer/vibrate off to silent. I also have a work Smart Action setup which sets it to vibrate (just in the case I had turned on the ringer at some time). It seems that when these Smart Actions turn off (which the work one tends to do even when I'm at my desk at work, but that's a location issue talked about elsewhere) they tend to turn the ringer on to full volume even if I had it set to vibrate only beforehand.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?

View 24 Replies View RelatedYesterday I upgraded my Defy to Froyo 2.2.2 (from the Moto website). Everything is great except my phone beeps everytime I get an email. I have gone into email settings and changed it to silent, but it still plays the ringtone. If I change the ringtone for email notification, it changes and plays the one I select, except if I change it to silent, it plays the "Bells" ringtone, which I think is the default. I have tried turning the phone off and on, but it still rings. I am using the stock email app with 2 pop accounts and a Yahoo account, and it plays the ringtone for all of them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I started to notice this a few weeks ago, My Droid 2 Global would automaticlly switch into silent mode all by itself at 10:00pm. No matter if it is in my pocket, or on my desk, or in the media dock. I find this to be quite annoying and missed a lot of calls and texts because of this. What I would like to know, is there a setting that control auto silent mode?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn this feature off?? This is getting very frustring to have it vibrate and it's not even discreet (it sounds like a loud buzzing noise on the other end). The person on the other line keeps asking what's that buzzing sound? This ISN'T a feature, in fact it's annoying to people I talk to on the phone and frustrating that I have to tell the other person everytime it's the phone vibrating. It does not make any difference in my life if it vibrates when I press the home, menu, return or search buttons.

I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. I get fustrated and set it to ring when I first use the phone in the morning. Is there some file that I need to edit to get my time window in? This is driving me a bit nuts, lol.
I know silent is:(J or #) I now want to make it vibrate and go on silent.
