View 6 RepliesIt was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an E52 here with latest firmware, version 034.001. Pressing and holding the # key to switch between general and silent mode does not work. Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have turned on the flip-to-silent setting in my n 97 mini and today I used it to silent a call. Only one call. After that I left the phone face down on my desk waiting for an important call. After about an hour I picked up the phone and to my shock saw that I had 20 missed calls!!!! It apparently silenced all those calls although it was still in general mode.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the E72 for few months and I have not managed to correctly use the Silent mode button. Everytime I press it, it switches quickly to Silent mode and then back to general. I always have to repeat the same opertion several times before getting the wanted result. Of course, I always end up using the main power button to switch the phone mode but the shortcut button is so easier.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed a disturbing situation with my BB Bold 9700. I can set the audio profile to Silent (like when I am in the movie or theater) but when people with specific ringtones call, the phone still has the audible ring.
I have tried all the tips I have found on this site and other sites. However, nothing seems to work. It only happens with people who have custom ring tones set.
I am currently trying to help my little brother with an issue he is having with his X 10 mini pro. View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I got my phone out of repair there is no longer the possibility of 'interruptions' in the sound & notification settings, that button changed to 'silent mode'. Now I can no longer choose between primary interruptions, I'm just left with the choice of either vibration or sound. Which is super annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an iPhone 3GS. It came with iOS5 preinstalled. I haven't been able to make it go into silent mode. Is there some setting I need to switch?
In my 1st generation iPhone, all I had to do was flip the switch on the side of the iPhone, so that the orange dot would be seen, and it would display the crossed bell graphic and go into silent mode.
When I flip the switch on the iPhone 3GS, nothing happens. It still makes noise when it rings. I tried toggling the setting in "Sounds" which said "Change with Buttons", but the switch still doesn't work. Toggling this setting seems to affect whether the "speaker" graphic is on screen when I press the volume buttons.
It seems that there is no way I can get the ringer switch to do anything. Is there anyway to make this work? Or have I received a defective unit? =S

My iphone 3gs keeps switching between silent and regular modes when I have the silent button depressed. It seems to have a mind of it's own. I'm currently using ios 5.1, but I don't know if this is a software problem or it's something with the phone itself.
