View 1 RepliesIt was 5 weeks old and developed a screen issue, went back to repair centre, came back fixed.....All good.....Well no.Now, when the silent icon on the drop down curtain says silent, its not, when you select to change this from the long press of the power on/off button (It gives you a turn device off option, deactivate/activate data, Airplane mode and Silent off and on)The turn on silent mode actually does the opposite?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to have a timer make an alarm sound when it is completed, but I still want the phone to be in silent mode. I know I can put the phone in do-not-disturb mode and set an exception, but I'd like to just have the phone in silent mode and still hear a notification sound when the timer is complete. Is there any way to do this? I have Lollipop 5.1.1

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I updated to android Lollipop this week and things have been going well. Normally when I go to sleep I put my phone in silent mode from the quick toggles in the notification panel. I like silent mode so I don't get vibrate notifications during the night and sounds that would wake me up.
Before the update my alarm which I use in the AM to wake up for work used to work in silent mode and I would hear the alarm. The last 2 nights the alarm goes off but only on the screen and does not make a sound like it used to.
I don't know why occasionally my phone is going to be in silent mode. It happen 3 to 5 times each day. Also notification sound is playing times a day when the phone is in standby!

View 5 Replies View Relatedkies advised that a system update was available for my S5 so I updated. Since then, my alarm doesn't sound in silent mode and system doesn't allow me to change sounds of silent mode.
I've tried 3rd party alarm as well, but didn't make a difference.
Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

I have a S6 edge and trying to find out where is the network mode can be found. Far is I know, it should be under the "mobile network" menu, but is not there. All I have under the "mobile networks" menu is: Mobil data, International Data Roaming, Access Point Names and Network operators. None of these including the "network mode".
If I try to find it in the search, it takes me straight to where is should be, but again, is not there.
I have the t mobile galaxy s6 and the switch for private mode disappeared from the quick settings menu!!? I'm confused I had no update or anything?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an E52 here with latest firmware, version 034.001. Pressing and holding the # key to switch between general and silent mode does not work. Instead, it does show a second # and, after a while, asks if one wants to change the phone line. Pressing and holding the * key does indeed activate bluetooth.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I got my phone out of repair there is no longer the possibility of 'interruptions' in the sound & notification settings, that button changed to 'silent mode'. Now I can no longer choose between primary interruptions, I'm just left with the choice of either vibration or sound. Which is super annoying.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an iPhone 3GS. It came with iOS5 preinstalled. I haven't been able to make it go into silent mode. Is there some setting I need to switch?
In my 1st generation iPhone, all I had to do was flip the switch on the side of the iPhone, so that the orange dot would be seen, and it would display the crossed bell graphic and go into silent mode.
When I flip the switch on the iPhone 3GS, nothing happens. It still makes noise when it rings. I tried toggling the setting in "Sounds" which said "Change with Buttons", but the switch still doesn't work. Toggling this setting seems to affect whether the "speaker" graphic is on screen when I press the volume buttons.
It seems that there is no way I can get the ringer switch to do anything. Is there anyway to make this work? Or have I received a defective unit? =S
