i have a few iden motorola phones, i580, i877, i855 and i'm trying to use them for voice dialing.i got into the contact and add a voicetag to that contact, save it, and when i exit out of the contacts and go back into that particular contact it doesn't have a voicetag.so i'm worndering how to do voice dialing on an iden motorola phone! thanks in advance
View 2 RepliesI use a Jawbone Icon HD bluetooth. If my phone is UNLOCKED, I can hold down the bluetooth button and I hear "Voice Dialing" and Voice Commands opens on my RAZR M allowing me to place a call.
If my phone is LOCKED, I still hear "Voice Dialing", but nothing happens on my phone. I tried SMART ACTIONS:
Triggers: Paried to a Bluetooth device (Jawbone Icon HD)
Actions: Launch an app (Voice Commands)
It is on (icon is in the status bar). If my phone is LOCKED, I hear "Voice Dialing" and sometimes I'll see the screen flicker on to the unlock page, but it immediately goes dark again and nothing happens. Isn't there a way to make a hands free phone call without the phone being unlocked and without using a car dock?
if I dial a contact via the Razr's voice command using my Bluetooth headset, the call connects, but neither party can hear audio. If I dial by selecting the contact manually, using the same Bluetooth headset, the call connects normally and audio is fine.The headset is a Jabra 250 and I don't have easy access to another Bluetooth device at the moment. Can't tell if this is a sw or hw issue on the Razr or the headset (which is an older model but still works just fine with original Droid Razr).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid Turbo about 10 days ago. Previously I had a Droid Razr Maxx for about 2.5 years. I had a Bluetooth hands free device mounted on my visor where when I hit a button it would speak "Please say a command" and I could respond with "Call Bob Smith Home" and it would work. I then got a Pioneer radio and it behaved exactly the same and worked very well.
Now, I get my Droid Turbo and expect similar results but it doesn't work? I can "sometimes" hear the first part of the phone/car stereo asking me to say a command but it is broken up and sometimes I hear nothing at all. If I look at the phone I can see that it is waiting for a command. If I say "Call Bob Smith Home" it comes up with Bob Smith but nothing happens? Also, if I say "Ok Google" and then say "Call Bob Smith Home" a DIFFERENT type screen comes up and WILL make the phone call.
In playing with my phone it seems like the phone comes with multiple voice command type "programs". I think there is the Google Voice, Moto something, and is there maybe even something else? Anyway, I'd just like my bluetooth voice dialing to work. Do any of you have a recommendation on how to get this work or use one of the phone's other voice recognition ones that will work?
My bluetooth keeps disengaging especially after transferring between a phone call and listening to music. Voice activated dialing takes forever to boot up on my Atrix.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWay back when, when I had the original Droid, there was a plain phone icon for the direct dial short cut in the original software before the first upgrade. It was the shape of an old style telephone handset, the kind you'd find on a pay phone (for those of you who know what that is/was). I'd like to find one like that again and replace the tiny contact face pic with the various symbols and shading covering it of the native direct dial icon.

(On a side note, it never actually accepts any of my commands ever. But that's not my issue right now.)Even after I close it, a few seconds later it will pop up again on its own.I thought maybe it was a stuck side key, but I disabled it, assigning it to nothing.The phone becomes muted as a result of the above. I cannot hear the DTMF beeps when dialing, I cannot hear the ringing, I cannot hear the other person, and the other person cannot hear me.Needless to say this has made using my phone pretty much impossible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice via the Hangouts app as a secondary phone line on my Droid Turbo.
The issue I am having is with phone calls that come in to my Google Voice number. Instead of using only the Hangouts Dialer app to receive those calls, the calls seem to come through Hangouts AND the default DT dialer app at the same time! What ends up happening is that first, the Hangouts app starts to ring, then (second) the default DT dialer app start up and rings over the Hangouts dialer. The end result is that when I pick up the call on the DT dialer app, I always get a missed call on Hangouts. In addition, if I miss the call completely I then get a missed call notification from both Hangouts and the default dialer app.
I am new to this forum and have been quite pleased with my 9700 until recently. For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

I connect with my bluetooth, the application does start and prompts me for a voice command, and after I give it, the application will pull up a name that is not EVEN close. I have unpaired my device and re-paired it. No help. For general information - previously had the Palm Treo 800W running Windows Mobile 6.1 and the voice command/dialing worked just fine with the same blue tooth device.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had put my comment in another post, but by the looks of it, it had never been addressed by any Motorola expert/employee, etc. Upon allowing my phone to sit, or after a reboot I can only make one phone call that is dialed at what I would call a rapide pace. It is what appears to be every call after that where I have a problem. In other words, I find the person in my contacts, select to dial it (or I input the phone number) and it just sits there. It can be anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute until ti finally dials.

I read the threads suggested for my subject entry, and some people seem to have great luck, while others don't. I've tried the voice adaption in a silent room, I've tried turning off prompts, etc... It remains literally TOTALLY useless.
"Call Pete" results in "Please try again". I try again, and I get, "Sorry, command not recognized."
"Call Home" yields "Did you say, Call ATT Customer Service?" What?
Thinking maybe I have a bad mic element in the phone, I tried my BT headset. With that, "Call Pete" results in "Calling Ford Dealer Work 1" and then to add insult to injury, "she" says, "Next time, just say "call Ford dealer work 1".
I really used the heck out of voice dialing on my previous phones, and find it hard to believe that a much newer phone won't work at all. I hate regressing with technology.
I'm still in my 30-days "satisfaction guarantee" and I may just have to try something else. I can't believe this function is so totally useless.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 8330 is having a problem with the voice dialing spontaneously turning on. Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).

However, if the other end hangs up first, my phone calls a random number from the phone book when I try to hang up myself. The same happens if the headset gets touched accidentally.
