View 6 RepliesI m from Brazil and I have just changed my device from the 8300 series to the 8500 series. All the contacts in my outlook have the phone numbers in the following format + (country code) - (area code) - xxxx-xxxx. I cannot dial in my new device because I have not been able to set up the dialing mode to automatically recognize this dialing format. Where can I do it? I used to have it in my 8300 series device, but I forgot how to do it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do you turn off the voice dialing? It keeps popping in when I am listening to an audio book with the headphones on, and I am unable to turn it off. It can also come in when I am listening to the radio. It is a real pain in the neck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 8330 is having a problem with the voice dialing spontaneously turning on. Occasionally (about 1/4 of the time) when I try placing a call, the sound is muted-- as in I cannot hear ringing on the other end. When I hang up, the phone initializes the voice dialing feature. It continues to pop up up at 3 second intervals, at which point I can no longer receive or place calls. I can write texts and receive them, but because the voice dialing keeps popping up, texting isn't an easy task! This continues all day and I must restart the phone for it to stop (does not work all the time).

View 8 Replies View Relatedmake it stop . . . this program that I never use keeps hijacking my phone for 20-30 minutes at a time, can't hear callers, they can't hear me, disconnects my calls and switches to "voice dialing" . . . is there any solution other than getting a new phone . . . why is this happening? I see people on other forums having the same problem but I don't see any response from blackberry.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Verizon Curve, 8330, has been going into a loop for the past two weeks with "Voice Dialing Initializing" showing up randomly. When I get out of it, it will soon pop up again. When this starts to happen, any outgoing calls I try to make will be instantly disconnected. The problem starts, sometimes, after receiveing a call--I can't hear the other party and then they can't hear me.When I hang up, the loop starts.I do have bluetooth on to automatically hook into my car when I am driving.I tried to fix the problem by upgrading the operating system from 4.5.77 to 4.5.175, but the problem is persisting. The button on the side is not set to activate voice dialing (I switched it shortly after I got the phone 18 months ago). Any suggestions would be appreciated--I do not want to have to remove VOD but if there is no other solution will have to. There is a discussion under the Pearl for this problem, but I do not see it discussed in the Curve area.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a curve 8330 and the voice activated dialing initializes on its own and loops in 3 second intervals until i do a battery pull. While the VAD is looping I am unable to make or recieve calls, it either disconnects me or mutes the phone and i am unable to unmute it. I removed the VAD all together using a program called MAXMEM, but the phone is still malfunctioning. now when i try to make an outgoing call it attempts to connect me for about 3 seconds then disconnects me. When trying to answer incoming calls it mutes the phone. I cant hear anything and the person calling me cant either. I went into settings and did a factory restore but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to completely un-install the OS/software and re-install it? Im hoping that that will fix it. i have tried doing it via the BB website but was unable to.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen setting up the desktop software to sync with BB, a stage is reached asking for a source to be selected (Yahoo / Outlook / none / etc). As I am working with Outlook only, if I could I would select this for each, but it only appears as an option for 'Contacts'. For some reason Outlook is not offered as an option for either calendar or tasks. What is more odd is that I have successfully used the same BB and PC in the past with the Desktop software, but for some reason it just stopped working. I have tried removing and reinstalling both v5 and v6 without success. I suspect the problem might be the phone rather than the software - but heh, what do I know!
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen my calendar reminder pops up it gives me the option to end the reminder or snooze for a preiod of 5 mins. This is far too short so I went to Calendar, Options, General Options and under Actions set the Default Reminder to 15 min and saved the change. When a reminder pops up the snooze time is still 5 minutes despite the change I made. Very annoying! What can be done to set the reminder time to anything other than 5 mins ? Have I changed the wrong field, or is this a bug?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the BB 8530. When I get a voicemail, a simple, white icon (a single line with a small circle at each end) appears in the top left of my screen, where the email & text notification icons also appear. In the past, once I check my voicemails, the icon goes away. But this time it has not. I have checked my voicemail several times and even erased all of my saved voice mails, but the icon will not go away! How can I get rid of it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Blackberry Curve for nearly a year now, and played brickbreaker a lot. When I got my high score of 330,000+ with 70 lives my blackberry froze and an auto restart was neccesary wiping out all the data for the game. Ever since then my the game has been extremely choppy, and the battery life has drastically dropped. A week ago it began to freeze citing 'Voice Dialing search....' as the culprit. I keep it in standby mode when not using it, and have never tried to voice dial. Now, even when I send 5 texts and keep it in standby mode while at work all day the battery still goes dead to 10% after 12 hours. Neither Bluetooth or any internet connection is enabled Do I need a new battery, or is there something that I can do to fix it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am new to this forum and have been quite pleased with my 9700 until recently. For some reason my voice dialing has changed so that now it looks up contacts in last name first order i.e. if I say john smith it looks for a last name "john" This is a new phenomenon that seemingly has been initiated by the device without intervention from me and I can't seem to get it corrected. the contacts folder is sorted by first name.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else find voice dialing useless on their Tour? My previous phones' voice-dialing functions worked smashingly well (99% success over four years), but the Tour I just want to smash. (100% failure)
I read the threads suggested for my subject entry, and some people seem to have great luck, while others don't. I've tried the voice adaption in a silent room, I've tried turning off prompts, etc... It remains literally TOTALLY useless.
"Call Pete" results in "Please try again". I try again, and I get, "Sorry, command not recognized."
"Call Home" yields "Did you say, Call ATT Customer Service?" What?
Thinking maybe I have a bad mic element in the phone, I tried my BT headset. With that, "Call Pete" results in "Calling Ford Dealer Work 1" and then to add insult to injury, "she" says, "Next time, just say "call Ford dealer work 1".
I really used the heck out of voice dialing on my previous phones, and find it hard to believe that a much newer phone won't work at all. I hate regressing with technology.
I'm still in my 30-days "satisfaction guarantee" and I may just have to try something else. I can't believe this function is so totally useless.
